LYRICS
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
Hear me from the bottom
Forged in regret, I'm the silversmith
Doomsday, you had it coming
Marching the streets with an iron fist
Obey no more in silence
The steel in our hearts will be monuments
Today they'll hear the violence
We'll rise from the dark like Lazarus
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
The ending won't be forgotten
It's written in the stars
And the hieroglyphs
Sending the lionhearted
The stones break bones
But we're venomous
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
Calling, calling
We've come out to play
Show me show me
A new way, oh
Slowly, slowly
They've led you astray
Away we go, now
Into the fray
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars

  • I am, just, speechless. I cannot express words for how this makes me feel. It gave me chills. I love how in the beginning there was several different doorways you could have gone through, and the more you go through them the less there are. Until there is only one doorway you can go through. They even make us think we're going to go through one then we don't. I think this is like a symbolism on how everyone's journeys are different, everyone's choices had lead them to where they are now. Like the song itself says. I love it. Another interpretation that might not be as accurate. But I feel the man that the girl shined the light over had his memories removed, which caused him to loose some of himself. Walk back behind some doors. It's so sweet

I thought Motionless In White did it best but....oh my god. This is why STARSET is and will always be my favorite band. I simply cannot process this right now. They inspire to make music, it’s just so unreal.

  • So...my wife and 3 youngest kids all refer to this as "The Song." It has every element I look for in a song as a do in a movie. "My Movie" is the "Secret Life of Walter Mitty." It has everything one needs to escape. Love, adventure, action, sorrow, mystery, comedy, intrigue, appropriate for all ages. Is there another element to cinema that I'm missing? This SONG....this 5 minutes and 39 seconds has it all! It truly does. Listen to it. Feel it. Believe it. My God it's a power movement. I'm so fortunate to have seen them and realized them when they opened for BB in a very deplorable time in my life. I'm more fortunate and grateful to have seen and met them a few months later at an AE in Rockford Illinois..I am most fortunate to share their magic, love, and LIFE with my 3 children under 10 who crave their artistry every day of their short existence. WE all cannot wait to see you in Green Bay on April 17, 2024❤❤❤❤

  • I'm imagining a man looking at a city; a city that once had great power, now in ruins. He looks on in the distance, singing a song to himself that seems like it was from centuries before; yet was from recent times. The man is on the brink of losing his hope, and on the verge of tears; as the memories of what happened here and everything around him is too much to bear. Then, these other people that share the same cause as him, come from behind him; singing along with him. The man gains a glimmer of hope that he never expected; enough for him to realize that just maybe, he wasn't fighting for the end of this monstrosity of a present-future himself. He smiles a bit, beginning to sing louder with the group of strangers at his side; tears of joy, not sadness, spilling from his eyes. A song once used as propaganda to persuade him and millions of others that everything was going to be okay, was now being used to create a rebellion... _And the revolution began._
