Fishing trip on trawler Ljósafell from Iceland. This fishing trip was during first days of August 2018, south east of Iceland. It took about 3 days to catch 90 tons of blended fish, red fish, cod, haddock and pollock. Video shows complete trip until back in port in Fáskruðsfjörður in Iceland. Fishing Documentary.

  • That's incredible, what a catch of PINK FISH, all bagged-up, and down the hatch.

  • When I see these videos it amazes me that the fish populations don't decline and disappear. But when there are not enough fish to make trawling economically practical, then the trawlers will cease to operate for a while and the remnant fish will then have time to reproduce. Thanks for the video. Well done.

    • Very sustainable for the pockets of those who own the fishing companies. Also trawlers absolutely destroy the eco-system on the ocean floor. So, not very sustainable. Line-fishing is way better.

    @xyzernhhloh@xyzernhhloh4 жыл бұрын
    • Im pretty sure that it doesn't. To my understanding the fish just get "funneled" into the back of the net and the boat moving forward keeps them there. The back of the net is only untied on the boat to release the fish, then re-tied before the next shot.

I know people depend on fishing to maintain their livelihoods but this is like a floating fish factory do they have a yearly quota or size limit on this boat? This is is a missive amount of fish , This is madness & greed for the dollars.

    @VK5FUSE@VK5FUSE Жыл бұрын
  • Like all of the planets natural resources which are being put into extinction fishing is no different. The only reason that fish are still being caught is that the fishing process is getting to the finite point of catching everything. The bottom draggers ruin the environment for future fish populations, in fact it changes the whole ecosystem. So with bottom draggers, mid-water trawls, gill nets, purse seines, etc its no fish are on the edge of extinction. When one species is wiped out another species is targeted and when that species becomes economically viable everybody else moves in to decimate that species too. It took 500 years to wipe out the Atlantic cod, but they did it and they will wipe out all the rest. All in the name of gluttony and greed.
