Thing I love about this interview is the fact that Eminem is genuinely intrigued by Mike and so he actually interviews him as well. Mike says a lot of interesting things because Em kinda draws it out of him (i.e., revealing that he didn't have a girl when he was boxing-obsessed and the explanations of his accuracy over his punching power). Good shit. Two of my favorites in their own ways come together here.

Mike put this episode because it has a lot of value listen to em and Mike talk about not being good enough and dealing with mental issues even the goats go through normal human stuff. These are major real influencers for anybody trying to be a boxer, rapper , athlete or successful at one time you put Eminem on your playlist and watch Mike knock out dudes and tear someone up in a interview just to catch a savage vibe. 2 killers right here bars on beat and Mike in the ring making heartbeats and fear come to live

Mike and Eminem both have equally inspired me to fight for what I believe in. I made a video about it on my channel. But the point is, we never know how far reaching our impact is on others. We never know who we can inspire through our words and actions. I want to use my platform to help others get clean and sober like I had to, like Eminem did, like Mike did. These are great men, who show that despite terrible life circumstances in childhood like I also had. We can overcome all obstacles. For anyone out there like me, who has ever been homeless, evicted, addicted, abused, neglected, rejected, abandoned, and scorned, us lepers of society no one wishes to look at. This was one of my favorite interviews. Mike was so sweet you can feel the love and respect which put Marshall at ease. He has such a sadness to him. Absolutely amazing conversations.

That was fun to watch, thank you. Look at these two all excited to meet each other. That’s good stuff. 💜 There’s a thing though when Marshall mentions having an 8th grade education.. it’s like.. most of the things taught in high school aren’t really geared towards life applicable “independent living” for teens. Things like filing taxes, applying for jobs, basic vehicle/ home maintenance, banking, “home economic” skills, growing food or shopping things.. it’s like.. what does a high school diploma really mean these days? My oldest daughter struggles because she is more of a hands on learner and the standardized systems aren’t doing a dang thing for her. I have both of my kids telling me they want to drop out.. and I almost don’t care.. we get to our “calling” in life regardless.. I’m learning.. 💜

The crazy thing about growing up poor is that Em and the Champ talking about evictions is absolutely spot on and reminds me that people who grew up middle-class have no concept of how fucked up is the eviction process. When I was a kid, we used to just break people's shit right in front of them after the landlord's crew put it all out in the front. Think free yard sale that you can also destroy; it was brutal - I feel bad about it now (obviously) but I was around 12 years old and life had always been rough.
You can tell Em and Mike both felt Tysons line about giving up happiness to be the best in the world. Sad in a way
