  • Love this part when Em said: "Hip Hop was the most important thing that empowered me as a kid. It made me feel tough when I wasn't. When I was a scrawny little kid, growing up on 8-mile, walkin up the f***in block, put headphones on and it made me feel powerful. HipHop probably was... It was like my dad, it was the only thing that made me empowered, made me feel good about myself. And when I started being able to write rhymes, and figured I could do it, that's where the feeling comes from to me. Because the excitement, is being able to come up with this shit. It taught me how to throw my first punch. It gave me the confidence to be able to throw my first punch." so much respect for this man.

    • @@yvngbullet THIS ⬆️ being able to write, sing, play Instruments, record and SELL Music in more than one genre is a BAD thing??? I am glad to see someone finally point out being versatile is not a weakness & just cuz Eminem has loads of commercial mainstream fame doesn't give him more talent. Stop hating on the drummer/guitar player/punk-pop rock Singer/Big movie actor.... Because he can do More than just rap? Cmon really? He was on MTV like 12 years ago. But now he's a loser cuz he can sing & play a guitar? Nope. Just no lol. I will laugh for a week if he drops a rap album next- While he is so commercially successful right now. Between Corpse + Megan & Blackbear & SNL + Billboard Awards + ... he is pretty well known so whatever his next drop is will get a listen just because... So,, what if people love it ? What if it's good? Haters gotta hate... having success in 2+ genres Don't make you a loser haha. Kinda works the opposite. Like how's Eminem's acting carreer going? Singing career? His success as a musician? (You know, those people who can play musical instruments? )How are Eminems sales in those genres? No one says that! Cuz not everyone needs to spread hate. Most recognize cross genre success as rather impressive & fairly uncommon & it irritates me they get away with twisting it into an apparent weakness grr. I'm glad someone finally called it out. Like Mgk or dont like him, being versatile is never a bad thing.

The only time I was comfortable was by myself, completely alone. I’d hide in the bathroom at school, stay in my room at home, or was with one of 3 people not including family. • This is very true in my own experiences during the years of my life where I did nothing but work and play in death metal bands. I did 6 months in county for a Marijuana dui and didn't have a drum set. I needed to do something musical to keep my spirits up and stay out of the politics so I just started writing songs. Being in the hole for 2 months for fighting was where i was the most creative I ever was and where the ideas and words just came out of me when I put pencil to paper. It just happened to be the time in my life where I felt the most anger and alone. When I got home and writing turned into a hobby and I was generally very happy again it started hitting me. "Oh this is why my favorite musicians produced IMO their best stuff when they were depressed, angry, addicted, heart broken, etc." It almost seems like a paradox however I do really believe pain breeds creativity in a way other emotional states just can't.

If you’re not talking about that, then yeah that’s sometimes what people look like after getting sober. You’re refiguring out literally everything. When I got sober I forgot how to make a bowl of cereal. That’s not a joke. I walked into the kitchen to make a bowl of cereal and couldn’t remember how. Other wise I’m called a psycho and thrown in a ward. I believe most of our problems stem from neural linguistics programming. Check it out sometime. I am studying this now. It was developed in the 70s in Cali, but, I have to look into it more. I still won’t baracade myself with their rules and regulations. It’s the Lonny show far as I’m concerned. And if people don’t like it they can take a walk. Your ability to talk yourself and others off the ledge, is a serious power that takes practice.

    • It's not really his vibe, because he's not the most active on social media, and even in his early years, he stated that he doesn't want the fame and money (even though we know he has all that), but he just wanted to do this for improving the craft. But when he does go on interviews, it gives me life :) Plus, hearing him talk and sounding really intelligent when people think he's not is relieving :)

  • When Em talks about how that feeling of anger gives him a little bit of joy from it, that's why I connected with his music. 20 years ago as a kid. I was angry I didn't have the perfect home or the foundation to make something of myself. I was just an angry kid with no answers and no ambition or idols. Through Eminem's music I found drive and a reason to turn the tables on my situation. Guts over fear, weakness's to strengths and freedom to help others find a similar path. He is an artist and he has helped me paint my life.

  • I took my Son, at 11 years old, to an Eminem show in San Bernardino Ca (early on in his career). I was criticized by some family and friends but I knew it would be important for some reason, just a feeling. To this day, my Son remembers that day as one of his best memories and he appreciates music so much deeper. The other artists there were not any music that we were listening to but it opened up a whole new world for us. I’m not a hip hop listener daily, but I can certainly appreciate it, because of that day way back when. I am forever a fan of Eminem’s genius.
