This is the middle part of a 750km record glider flight from Nephi, Utah to Alamo, NV and back to Nephi. As you can see, there is not much out there near Alamo! Pretty scary when you are so far away from home without an engine and only your wits and the weather to help get you back home. The glider is an ASW27 and the airport I am landing at is Nephi, Utah. This was my first flight back in the glider after an unwanted vacation away from gliding so it made this flight even more special. Thanks as always for watching and for all your comments and support! Bruno - B4
You are one of the reasons I start trainig for my License in Germany this Year! Thanks for Uploading more again
“Unlandable nothingness”… sounds like something that should be official terminology in the FAR/AIM.
You have very good wits, so no problem LOL! Good to see you back in the glider! Will watch the long version somewhere this week.
Glad you are out there Bruno doing it and doing it well as always. Your performance at the Airshow the FAA shamed you for was executed with absolute spy like finesse. Ridicule should be placed on the FAA for making a mountain out of a molehill. Instead of dealing with real safety issues that go unchecked at local FBO’s all across America, they focus on an extremely competent glider pilots like you to puff up their ego.
In September, I drove through the very spot you are gliding over. Very neat to see it from your view!
That plane is amazing! Thank you for documenting your adventures.
Sometimes being in the middle of nowhere is exactly where we need to be!
Glad to see you're back!!!
Love ur videos please upload more
Tease! Can't wait for the whole video! Cheers
yes! Tease! ;)
Looks like Tatooine.
awesome flight dude how are ya its great to seee ya back in the seat again flying our amazing earth if i had money id fly with yu i know im still holding on that raincheck ya gave me welcome back bravo 4
[All the ranchers and farmers on the ground below you]: "Wuddaya mean - nowhere? I'm right here!"
There looked to be landable fields below, albeit short and possibly with crop, but you had a long way to go over nothingness to get back home, in a good blue stretch until the next valley. A 4kt thermal is good conservative thinking, and safe. I think you were wise to take it, especially if you hadn't happened upon a strong one for awhile.
I love watching you glide!!!
I thought that was awesome the way you handled the impromptu air show.
Damn, I'm realizing that if you would have a HUD that shows all the thermals your flight would become even more enjoyable 😉 Thanks for the short amazing view ✌️
Great video. Would be nice if you would tell us which time of the year the flights have happened.
Thanks for your videos! When I am flying in my little powered planes I am always wondering what I would do if my engine quits. Maybe I should get my glider endorsement so I don’t have so much anxiety!
Ah, Desert MOA. A Sunday I presume, or were you talking to Nellis Range Control? That note on the Vegas Sectional about UXB all over really makes the point about unlandable. Am I right that the dry lake just to the right off the nose past the third ridge in the beginning is Groom lake?
Middle of nowhere doesn't have roads. Better than being between oh dear and oh oh.
Please stop teasing and upload the whole flight already 🙏
Haha - one video more after this and then the whole thing.
Looks great Bruno! Interesting to see the slice of civilization below. I wonder if they feel the same sense of isolation?
Hi Dean - thanks for watching and commenting. Here is the turnpoint. Check it out on google maps. Yeah they are pretty darn well isolated! goo.gl/maps/KoUk8EHzriEQUUgw9
you need to bring some survival kit on board for such occasions
Great piece. Wonder how you managed the last part of the flight. Will you upload it?
Please look at my last few uploads. They are also from this flight. One includes final glide and landing.
Does a clear sky contribute to your stress at all? Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures and landscapes.
Always Blue Thermals in Nevada
not the worst problem to have
Bruno, what happened? Did you have to land out?
How long did it take to get 230 miles from home?
Fear is the mind killer, the little death……
Did you get home - or land in 'nowhere?'
Please take a look at some of my other recent posted videos. One shows the final glide and landing back home. Take a look. :)
@@BrunoVassel Will do. Thanks Bruno

"I'm in the middle of nowhere" Meme of the week club - Doesn't that mean you need to jump out of your plane like TrevorJacob? 🤣
How about posting the WHOLE video instead of little teasers? Pleaseeeeeeee.......
