    • he was spot on with the stance being his biggest issue, he used to have a loose and wide karate stance perfect for expanding and contracting for counters, then after fighting floyd he overtrained or put too much faith in his boxing and adopted a more upright boxing stance much to the detriment of his MMA career

It’s ridiculous how the general public from the East think about our culture too. For example, They think our gun law is so out of hand that everyone here carries guns shooting each other like in the old western movies. Don’t be one of them and sound like Mcgregor when he tried to stir sh*t up with Khabib talking about Chechenia vs Dagestan. Even Khabib didn’t understand wtf mcgregor was talking about. The subject is deep. I don’t think you understand either.

  • Spot on. Since the matchup with Khabib, he's been engaging WAY too much. His success came from timing, anticipating, and countering, not from being the best brawler. He could move forward, but just as means to create reactions from his opponent

    @frantzl@frantzl Жыл бұрын
    • Well his timing and everything is garbage because he went from fighting every few months to fighting every year and a half. He wants to relax and party for 7 months and thinks he can get ready for a big fight in 5 months. Same thing happens to other fighters/boxers. On the way up they are hungry. Training year round, fighting often, and staying sharp. then they get a title, and some money and they fight ever 6 months at most, and often less. So they spend more time relaxing, less time training, and less active. Look at Conor's schedule in the UFC up to Eddie Alvarez. Then look after that. Twice in 2013, twice in 2014, 3 times in 2015, 3 times in 2016. 0 in 2017, 1 time in 2018, 0 in 2019, 1 in 2020, 2 in 2021..... Here we are in 2023. He hasn't fought in 2022 because of his injury, and will likely be halfway through 2023 before his next match. He's coming up against a very dangerous fighter. I don't see him doing well because of this infrequent fighting.

      @RickySpanish12344@RickySpanish12344 Жыл бұрын
    • It's not since the Khabib fight. It's since the Mayweather fight. Ever since he trained boxing primarily for a prolonged period of time, he thinks he's a boxer. He was never a boxer. He always had a unique striking style of being upright and bouncing in and out almost kind of like a hybrid karate/kickboxing style. His striking never consisted of combos until someone was hurt and he went for the kill. It was always sniper shots with that left hand.
