That looks really good! My grandson said "I like that dog and that soup!" 😂
Looks like the garden is doing amazing just like the beef stew
Love your cooking channel. Made this for a friend and turned her to your videos. My dr. Makes desserts in his Dutch oven so I told him about your videos to make some real recipes!! Love your puppy
Great looking dish especially for this time of year up north here. Thanks for sharing!
Great pot of comfort stew! Everyone git’ to cookin’!
Looks absolutely delicious.
looks great
This looks very delicious!
Awesome recipe. I’ll definitely be giving this a try
Looks Great!!!
Great video Thank you. Just got Dutch oven and excited to be use when I go hunting
Got back into dutch oven cooking and made beef stew today. Tasted great and so enjoyable making it. Keep up the great videos.
Those trivets are awesome!
Looks just fantastic! Can't wait to try this recipe with some elk that we got last fall.
I know that tasted awsome looks amaZing another great video
I think I may have to do that tomorrow
I will try this in a couple weeks when I go camping. Personally, I would add my carrots before the potatoes. I've never known carrots to get tender that quick.
Another awesome video!
Thanks
Looks fantastic!! My wife wants me to make it this weekend. Ps love the bloopers lol!
yummmm
If you ever open a restaurant I would drive from Illinois to Florida to eat there at least once a week. Looks awesome and good.
Looks great Backwoods, missed some of the ingredients, how much and when to add them. Watched the video twice as recommended in the comments
The trivets are very nice, and I bet they will keep that beautiful counter top from getting scorched. I wonder if a cutting board would keep the same beautiful counter top from getting all marred up. just saying. Great videos, and great counter top i
They're called flanken ribs, basically a cross sectional cut of the rib roast.

Looks great but I missed when you put the worchershire sauce in and the balsamic vinegar. How much of each?
Watch again for free
I did not see it in the video either and I watched it twice just to see. Or the better than bouillon.
@@tammywickard I missed it as well....twice!
@@tammywickard your right i watched it again and I didn't see anything about the bouillon either or the vinegar or worchershire sauce. Wish he would just tell me when and how much to put in would like to make it.
@@oldcootcamper watched it again not in there.
Watched several of your videos and tried the recipes with great success. Delicious! However, I, too, have watched this particular video several times and don't see where you added the bullion, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar. I've read down through all the comments and you're only reply when asked by others about the missing step/addition is "Watch for free." This doesn't help your viewers, though, imo, especially since you've titled this video for beginners. I'm a beginner to cast iron cooking, but not to cooking in general. So, I'm only guessing in my next paragraph. Are you referencing the part where you say "Check the seasoning" at the end of the cook? Do I add the Worcestershire sauce, bullion, and vinegar to taste, then? I would think the bullion (Better than Bullion) would be added with the water. The vinegar would act to break the fibers down in the meat, so I'd add it with the water, too. It probably wouldn't hurt to add the Worcestershire sauce at that point, also. Could add it with the cornstarch, but then the flavor wouldn't meld. Still missing "how much," though. (No need to give me amount of cornstarch, though, since I am experienced with that.) I'm gonna guess, since you used two cups of water, that it's only whatever teaspoon amount recommended on Better than Bullion jar. For the Worcestershire sauce, maybe a tablespoon and same for vinegar since you've used 2 cups of water. Sure would be nice, though, if you'd give us an idea. You do a great job, otherwise.
I don’t like cornflour thickener for stews, ,mainly because it doesn’t reheat as well as wheat flour roue. I suppose if you plan to eat it all, it doesn’t matter so much.
What variety of sweet peas are you growing... I'm north Florida myself, and I struggle growing them...
They were from Ferry Morse. Bought them at Lowes. Just say Sweet Peas on the pack. Little late for them now because they like the cooler weather. Bout to pick a half bushel this afternoon.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel I'm on base with that... planning for the fall.
I was told you shouldn't cook with acidity ingredients with your (dutch oven for beginners being not used much and seasoned) it will bring out the iron taste..wondering if I can ommitt the vinegar? Update : after watching several times .I did not see you use the vinegar, wirshershire or the "better than beef" bullion?..
I didn't either. I thought I was on dope or something.
With blades like that, you may need to change your handle to "The Backwoods Samurai Gourmet"
I tried the recipe but the carrots were not tender for almost an hour. And I added them before the potatoes. I just can't see carrots getting tender in 30 minutes. Still tasted good after about 90 minutes, though. I'll make it again for sure.
Could this be done in the oven also? No real place to cook on coals here
Yes. Stove top then oven
Too much loud music while you’re talking
Music is too loud. Love your channel
Your device not my video. Check your settings.
Wasn't the only complaint, could not hear what you saying for the music.

Not flank steak!! Flanken cut short ribs. Great meat though.
That's what I thought. Might just be a regional thing, too.
These were primarily used in Kalbi or Galbi ribs. Better known as Korean Short Ribs. But popular in Asia as a whole.
Lol
