I was working on a summer work term betwen 2nd and 3rd year undegrad, and went to a movie theatre to pass some time. I had no idea what I was going to see, just picking something from the cheap night at the cineplex. And what did I see? Life of Brian. I had not seen any previews or trailers. I watched it cold and unawre. And there was me and 2 other people in the Tuseday night show at 11PM. And during this, and several other scenes, I nearly lost control of my bodily functions.

What makes the Sermon scene so ingeniously funny is because the crowd is so huge, they all clearly respect Jesus for turning up. It's only the back of the crowd that have a rough time. Writing at its cleverest.

‘About Tea Time’ is such a Monty Python phrase. The Best British Comedy Ever. Amazing that one of the towns that banned the film, the ban was only lifted a few years ago, the Mayor of the town was the actress who played Judith, ‘that Welsh tart’. It was shown for the first time with Michael Palin in attendance.

This thing is so funny, men dressing up as women, Jesus at the sermon on the mount preaching and people in the crowd fighting. And then the stoning, unbelievably funny. Send the person to the back of the line because I threw the stone too early. Awesome writing!

One of my favorite subtle jokes is when the old lady is carry the goat, the stone salesman tries to sell her a beard so she can pretend to be a man and participate in a stoning and is refused, only to see another old lady in a beard come up and completely believe it to be a man, I love their writing.

I was working on a summer work term betwen 2nd and 3rd year undegrad, and went to a movie theatre to pass some time. I had no idea what I was going to see, just picking something from the cheap night at the cineplex. And what did I see? Life of Brian. I had not seen any previews or trailers. I watched it cold and unawre. And there was me and 2 other people in the Tuseday night show at 11PM. And during this, and several other scenes, I nearly lost control of my bodily functions.

What makes the Sermon scene so ingeniously funny is because the crowd is so huge, they all clearly respect Jesus for turning up. It's only the back of the crowd that have a rough time. Writing at its cleverest.
