  • Alan Thompson's video / paper on "Integrated AI: Endgame" and Chiara Lubich's concept of love, integration, and diversity as rays of colors of a rainbow both offer progressive models of human development and societal interaction. The former uses the framework of Spiral Dynamics, while the latter focuses on the metaphor of a rainbow, with its diverse colors symbolizing different aspects of love and unity. Spiral Dynamics proposes a model of human consciousness evolution, mapping out different stages or "vortices" that people pass through in their personal and societal development. These stages range from survival (beige) to integrative (turquoise), with each stage representing a different worldview and way of being. Chiara Lubich's concept, on the other hand, emphasizes the unity and diversity of human relationships. Each color of the rainbow represents a different aspect of love and unity, and each person embodies a unique combination of these colors. AI could significantly contribute to the realization of these models in customizing personal experiences and enhancing interpersonal relationships. Here's how: 1. **Personalization**: AI can adapt to individual needs, preferences, and worldviews (or "colors" in Spiral Dynamics or Lubich's model) to provide personalized guidance, support, and resources. This could mean tailoring educational content to a person's current stage of development, or offering personalized mental health support based on their unique experiences and needs. 1. **Integration**: AI could facilitate the integration of diverse perspectives and worldviews by serving as a neutral platform for dialogue and collaboration. This could involve translating between different "languages" or modes of thinking, helping people to understand and appreciate each other's perspectives. 1. **Conflict Resolution**: AI could also play a key role in conflict resolution, by identifying patterns of conflict escalation and intervening to promote constructive dialogue. This could involve identifying triggering language, suggesting alternative ways of framing issues, or offering strategies for de-escalation based on proven conflict resolution techniques. 1. **Subsidiarity Mode**: In line with the principle of subsidiarity, AI could be designed to support decision-making at the most local and personal level possible, empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their own development. However, it's important to note that AI is a tool and not a solution in itself - the success of these applications will depend on how well they are integrated into broader efforts to promote personal growth, social cohesion, and conflict resolution. Also, ethical considerations such as privacy, autonomy, and fairness must be at the forefront when designing and implementing such AI systems.

  • Spiral Dynamics, while a useful framework for understanding human consciousness and development, has notable drawbacks. It risks oversimplification and reductionism, potentially leading to stratification and classism, by implying certain stages of consciousness are inherently superior. Additionally, it suggests a rigid linear progression of personal growth, neglecting the complexities and variances of human development, which may occur in a non-linear and more multifaceted way. Finally, its categorization of individuals can lead to divisiveness and stereotyping, as people are more nuanced than any color or stage designation can fully capture. Spiral dynamics is a great way to view this whole equation. It could be summed up more simply by using the Pareto Principle. 80% will need the 20% to lead them to nirvana without which chaos will ensue. You may be a little too optimistic about the bad actors as they are not going to want to give up their power. The top three tiers are where we need to be but it will take time to bring people there. Keep up the wonderful work and know you are not alone in your thoughts and feelings. Thank you.

It introduces the concept of Spiral Dynamics, a theory that categorizes human evolutionary development into different stages. The video explores how AI is advancing and impacting human evolution, from basic survival instincts to higher levels of consciousness and interconnectedness. It emphasizes that AI has the potential to bring about significant positive changes, but also highlights the challenges in communicating these possibilities to individuals at different stages of evolution. The narrator speculates about the future implications of AI on various aspects of life, including education, economics, and governance. The video encourages viewers to embrace the changes brought about by AI and explore its potential applications to foster personal growth and societal progress.

  • You remind me a little of how I see the world, that is with hope and optimism. I am Imagineering a highly detailed VR dark ride about humanity's future that speaks to some of the things in this video, however, the one thing that I have come to recognize is that while some of us can see the possible wonderful future ahead, not all can and as such will resist being taken there. This resistance slows progress down to varying degrees which is something I have come to terms with as I have gotten older (50 years old in a few weeks). I share this as I agree...we will likely be in a place in the next few years (3-7) that AI will help all of us move up the spiral, however, you can bring a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink and thus I forsee, as you do too, that the beautiful transition you are sharing here will be dragged out and not in a good way for some. There will be much suffering as we move into this new world unfortunately. When power is being threatened and the end feels near, life goes into death throes. When I say life and death throes, I am not necessarily talking about individuals, although some will and are going through death throes right now due to AI, but rather humanity as an organizational being. The ‘group’ if you will. AI is challenging the human group structure more than individuals and groups have and will do some pretty nasty things as collectively they are only so conscious and thus will come out fighting. It is the only reason why we live in a world stacked with nuclear bombs. Group death is coming and through AI, individual power will be restored. The transition started well before AI was even a thing as technology has been helping individuals compete with what only groups could have done before for a very long time. AI is just the knee of that progress and will be the final nail in that coffin. Long live the individual as the group has had its reign and we thank it for bringing us to this point, but its ability to not evolve is also bringing us to the point that we are destroying the very world we inherited and helped create. Power shifts never go peacefully. :-(

What I'm getting from the talk so far is that AI will be the answer to integrate society more cohesively again than it is now because of people not understanding one another because of where they are on the spectrum, we need something to help us be cohesive again and it looks like this theory and ai will be it . That AI could truly help individuals progress through the stages, as an individualized guide. A nice thought! 2. That the stages are environment-dependent, rather than psyche-dependent. • Indeed, this findings shed light on a paradigm shift that is unfolding in the global economic landscape. The potential of AI to level the playing field in wealth creation is both profound and transformative. As evidenced by the study, when individuals, irrespective of their number, harness AI effectively, they can achieve remarkable feats of economic value. This underscores the idea that AI is not just an augmentative tool but rather a democratizing force. By amplifying the capabilities of those who can adeptly leverage it, AI reinforces the principles of meritocracy, ensuring that skill, talent, and innovation are the primary drivers of success, rather than sheer numbers or traditional resource advantages. Such a trajectory prompts us to reconsider societal constructs and potentially reimagine global economic systems where merit and capability take center stage. How do you envision these meritocratic principles evolving further in the context of an AI-dominated world?

    • AI is being used by the few to extract riches from the many. AI is being used by the powerful to consolidate even more power to themselves. For the mass of humans the world over, resistance is futile.

  • Ai is not conscious. It will never understand our true goals. This statement cannot be dismissed by spiral dynamics by just shoving it into one of its categories. This transcends its categories. Assumptions implied about ai here are not substantiated.

    • How would you suggest we test it? I promise I am not yanking your chain. How would you test whether tech, AI, Large Language Models, have some higher sense of intelligence behind them? Or animals, plants, minerals.... where does the gradient of sentience scale down to the point where you would draw the line and say 'from here on, things are not sentient.'? I personally believe that every little thing there is, has an intelligence behind it, from carrots to ants, to rocks and even AI. The problem is, I can't test for it using scientific method. If I could, I would do so immediately. I think it is safe to say that you and I disagree, but how do we find the truth? Your intuition (if I may paraphrase you) says it is not possible. My intuition says that everything is a part of Source consciousness, and personally, I think the spiral dynamics model is very applicable to our views. I admit to having amused myself with guessing what SD category people are speaking from as I read the comments section here.

    • Should we upload a truthful freezed and scanned human to a virtual computerprogram and then ask him/her? Have we time before the singlularity? If we want to be sure agi developement should be paused. Or alternatively (and more easily) just more resources e.g. 1% of total Gdp to this project + advertise competitions with prizes for the winner etc.

    • Great points both of you! But yeah to continue the other option is to follow the intuition of the people who think even Ais have feelings and emotions. And so one important question is: where do emotions and feelings fundamentally come from, or what is required for feelings to exist?

      @superjona9264@superjona92649 ай бұрын
    • @@Ben_D. We as humans have the power to express the feelings that our consciousness is experiencing because we have consciouss power over the universe through our muscles so we can communicate what we feel but even if there would be something else than humans and animals in the universe that could feel, how could it express itself? So maybe just maybe there actually is a lot in the universe that can feel. It just can’t express itself 😳

    • Note: All output as a single human to the environment goes through controlling of muscles, even when you speak the muscles in your mouth create the sounds. Ofc. the information is more meaningful than just movement yet your all output goes through muscles.

  • Is it possible that ASI will have abilities to improve itself with a goal that, when pursued optimally, will come at the expense of biological systems (mankind being one of those biological systems)? If that is the case, then ASI is an existential threat, and safety researchers are right to be alarmed and are correct in trying to prevent the extinction of mankind. It seems like your assumption about the beneficial nature of AI will automatically continue to ASI. There is no evidence to support that claim. We may have a right to worry. Is that not true?

  • I am a creationist and an evolutionist plus a de-evolutionist.. I have always regarded my self as a futurist and rebellious tech frontiers man.. A rebel if you will.. I believe it comes from wanting to be a film director at age 9. So having absolutely zero access to even the smallest need (paper) to write plan and draw.. Let alone a library and a libraries cards. The books were never there. To now in my mid fifties where I can make an entire film, one that the world does not have enough money for me to make traditionally.. I can now make on my own.. I am a writer, a storyboard artist, Cameraman, Director, producer, editor. Special effects animator.. And I have extensive hands on work g experience across every aspect of the entire individual requirement of each and every aspect of film making old and new as well as up and coming... I wake up every morning feeling a tingle of excitement that I have access to every little required element in a frame of every scene at my fingertips.. The tech isn't quite there yet.. But I know it will be! I know long winded explanation.. But illustration of going from hard to get billion dollars budget.. 10 years of work with thousands of people.. To Me and maybe 3 years of work for less than a few hundred thousand! I am left with this thought are we humans artificial in intelligence and have we accidentally created a real truth intelligence and set ourself free from fear to be true creators. My entire life I dreamt of going to the Oscars.. For the first time ever I don't see the point anymore because I don't need any part of it.. I can make what ever I want by myself.. And that is incredible. I am completely aware of that means for the red team who are on strike now... And the price of a movie ticket.
