ABOUT VOGUE
Vogue is the authority on fashion news, culture trends, beauty coverage, videos, celebrity style, and fashion week updates.
"Just being able to point an iPhone and take a selfie doesn't make you a supermodel, sorry not sorry" I love her
Iconic
the shade. love it
It’s true… it’s a title she and others have earned.
So unnecessary 😂
@@madisonj5136 it was needed. she said it.
All the supermodels on this series are fascinating. They all have the "flirt with the camera" sparkle quality about them.
This really highlights the difference between the Shaloms of the world and the nepomodels of today. You can buy a new face but you can't buy star quality.
@@THEMODELGENE thisss
Thats why they are supermodels. Their genuine persona is alluring and incomparable, why they spark curiosity in people and inspiration on designers, like muses. Now why supermodels like these ceased to exist after the 90s I cant understand, maybe because now theres more accessibility to the industry compared to back then?
kzhead.info/sun/dd6DltOlg3ihfaM/bejne.html
No they make love to the camera sweetie
Her beauty has never faded-
Shalom and Amber look incredible, I loved seeing them at this last MET Gala. Would you believe they are the same age as Kate Moss?
@@THEMODELGENE Shalom, Kate, Amber, Carolyn, Eva, Tyra were all around the same age group. All born either in 1973 or 1974, and their careers took off in the early to mid 90s. They were part of the new wave of supermodels in the 90s.
kzhead.info/sun/dd6DltOlg3ihfaM/bejne.html
Unlike Cindy Crawford aka Kaitlyn Jenner. She tanked worse than any of the supermodels
Beauty is timeless
She still has the air of a siren...a wonderful woman! It's one thing to be beautiful, but her charisma makes her unique.
Such a fierce & unapologetic woman, while carrying elegance. Ive been looking for a muse such as her
I don't disagree with you, but she also has an incredible condescension about her, for example when she says that "[due to the grunge movement] we intentionally didnt want to embrace labels that had already been established" and then proceeds to walk for multinational conglomerates haha. there are many more examples this is just the first one i heard of many
@@pentothalic she was talking about Marc jacobs?
That Alexander McQueen show moment was just perfect. The way she acted terrified, weak and vulnerable like a newborn gazelle was so fitting in contrast to the aggressive mechanical movements of the robots.
That was an incredible performance. And the fact that she was improvising that range of emotions with such intensity shows how great of an actor she is.
@@franciscoborges6265 exactly! I love that she made that decision to convey that story instead of the “strong fierce alien model” perspective.
One of the best performances in fashion world!
Unforgettable.
She is so classy and full of charisma
She has the best name too
Her parents were hippies. She was discovered at a "Cure" concert.

I agree tho! People are just jealous so they wanna end the industry instead of just being happy for them.
@@nitely2345 I think it's more like an attempt to give the models themselves the power as opposed to the agencies and the fashion houses and press. Problem is, this kind of talent is not being curated the way it used to be.
@@nitely2345you and the OP are misunderstanding the meaning of the word “antagonists” here. It’s simply a film industry character term meaning “villain.” She was saying they were cast as villains in the film because they were beautiful. Y’all are reading way too much into it and misinterpreting. 😄
I don't know if you heard her notes of irony in it
@@calisongbird yes to what you said, but here Shalom was referencing her movie character 😉
shalom is one of the best models to ever walk the runway idc. her walk is so unique and different, i don’t see how people hate her walk i love it. she is still gorgeous as ever!
Anna Wintour agrees with you; she said Shalom and Naomi have the best walks of all-time

Did people really hate her walk?

For real. So ASMR-ish. Calm and soothing, not high pitched and girly, but still feminine.

Yes!!
this is what i'm thinking.
Yes! I miss this era! It used to be like fashion theater! Now modeling is all about who your mom is 😢 and the models are just not this striking.

Or at least boost the companies product.

I wish Yasmeen ghauri can come in and talk about her looks 🥺❤️

It’s amazing when she talks to simply about turning to another incredible model and just being like “keep up, turn with me, we’ll handle it” and Amber just followed her naturally. As someone who barely walks on flat ground without falling I am in awe of her confidence in her own movement.
I love Shalom. I was so lucky to win her Versace bathrobe in a Vogue auction. She's been in some many iconic moments- those Irving Penn shots! The McQueen dress is obviously a standout. She just radiates.
The way how she interpreted and handled the spray painted dress assignment, shows you she is a very smart woman who understands the elements that surround being a model. It’s not only about being pretty. Such a professional. The new girl can only wish.

Hi friend allen
I've always loved Shalom Harlow. I had no idea she struggled with health issues for so long. I'm so happy to see her healthy and loving life.
Gosh, this was one of my favourite Life in Looks so far! Thank you, Vogue! I’ve always loved Shalom because of her ultra feminine camp-sassy-fierce catwalk and maneirismos, but I am truly awed to see that she is also so articulate in her words, astonishing. Didn’t know it was she on the McQueen iconic rotating platform painting thing.

She's worn her sunscreen, no doubt.

Shalom is the epitome of elegance and sophistication. As this is the first time I listen to her speak, I’m charmed to see that beyond the gorgeous frame there is an eloquent, intelligent woman, irradiating joy and wisdom. So refreshing and inspiring!!!
This is the best one of these. Shalom is so generous with sharing her memories and the details of her experience. Also, her voice is so soothing.
I love the supermodels featured in this series. It became an opportunity to, as Shalom put it, present themselves. They have broken the stereotype of models being "just" beautiful. Some of them are also smart, funny, witty, intelligent, articulate and empowered women.
wish she talked about the iconic Gianni Versace spring 1995 show where her and Kate bump into each other!!
I've been waiting for this one. Thank you! Shalom is just wonderful.
She has so much depth. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing it.
I am really enjoying this because I've always loved supermodels or just models since the 70's. Watching them reminisce about the times behind each outfit is interesting and entertaining, giving us a peek into their former world. Shalom has such a calming voice.
