  • I'm a french learner and this is one of the best French speakers for learners. He speaks at the right pace, and use words and conjugations for upper beginner to upper intermediate. It's very nice. Besides he's an eye candy (bogosse) so I really enjoy watching his videos! Greetings from Cannes!

  • I love how you explain everything and do the entire video in French! It's much more useful that way. I am so sick of language videos where they speak English for ten minutes and then teach you three words in another language, such a waste of time!

  • Wow, I’ve been trying to teach myself French for like two years now. Some of these I knew but others I didn’t know. I feel French has so many little things that you have to keep in mind. 😳 I hope you keep making videos like this one because it’s good to learn about more subtle things like what you explained about the verb “visiter” for instance. I appreciate all the francophones that put time and effort to make videos like this. I don’t live in a French speaking country, nor do I have the possibility of traveling abroad and hearing French firsthand from natives, so these videos really help me out. I know I’ll probably never speak French flawlessly because that would be asking for too much, but I want to become relatively fluent, and, most importantly, be able to understand everything I hear in French. Merci!!👍🏼🤗 ***I wrote the above comment 3 years ago!!! I still don't speak French perfectly, but I am glad to say that I now can understand fast spoken French because I have made bunch of francophones friends these past 3 years. I am going to France this December, God willing, so I'm ready to put my skills to the test!!! Thanks again and bon courage to all my French learners!!!

    • He is deliberately keeping his pace of speech low so that French learners can understand. If he speaks like how French people speak in real life then we can't understand half of it. If we keep learning, we will get there someday! Bon courage!

    • en soit c'est pas faux, c'est juste que ca change le sens je suis bien est utilisé lorsqu'on est assis ou que l'on se trouve dans une position comfortable Mais bon, on ne peut commencer a sentir ce genre de subtilité qu'àpres des années d'étude de cette langue

    • @@genekisayan6564 Ce que tu dis est vrai, cependant "je suis bien" n'est pas la réponse attendue à "comment vas-tu ?", si tu réponds "je (ne) suis (pas) bien", c'est qu'on t'a demandé "Est-ce que tu es bien ?". Si on te demande donc "comment vas-tu ?", tu répondras en effet "Je (ne) vais (pas) bien" ou "ça (ne) va (pas)".

    • @@Waouben Alors après avec la négation c'est vrai que "Je ne suis pas bien" peut aussi exprimer qu'on ne va pas bien sur le moment, mais que ça peut changer. Pour ceux qui apprennent le français, franchement ne vous embêtez pas la vie, regardez mon message précédent, c'est amplement (= largement) suffisant.

I'm sure from your perspective both speakers of their respective languages speak fast, but native French speakers talk unbelievably fast normally

  • That's awesome! Most of these rules crossover to Spanish as well! Especially when it comes to professions. We also say: Ella es doctora (no article) or Ella es una doctora osteopática (article when the noun is modified by an adjective). Plus, we also have some students or young kids try to use "justo" for 'having just done something'. Technically, it's not allowed in our language either, but it's slowly being accepted. We're supposed to use the phrasal verb "acabar de" just like you guys say "venir de": Yo acabo de llegar --> Je viens d'arriver --> I recently arrived... However, some people do say "Justo llegue' ", even though "justo" already has the meaning of "in that exact moment/ precisely" (Justo llego ahora/ I'm just arriving now). The only thing that is different in your language is with the verb "visiter". Weird because we can use "visitar' with people and places, but we do use "ir a ver" too just like you guys use "aller voir". Saludos amigo :D

  • Salut ! Le français est ma langue maternelle et je suis tombée sur tes vidéos un peu par hasard, et même si je n'ai pas du tout besoin d'apprendre le français, je les trouve très intéressantes et j'aime bien les regarder, j'apprendre même des trucs sur la didactique de ma langue et la manière dont elle est perçue par les anglophones. Tu parles extrêmement bien le français (la première fois que je t'ai entendu parler, j'étais pendant quelques minutes convaincue que tu étais français), tu as une très bonne pédagogie et je pense que tu aides beaucoup tes élèves ! Merci de faire partager ton savoir ! Une petite erreur s'est glissée dans ta vidéo, je me dois de le signaler, et c'est dans le thème ! A 1:49 à peu près, tu dis : "...si votre langue maternelle est l'anglais, il y a de grandes chances que vous faites certaines de ces erreurs vous aussi." Tu as conjugué le verbe FAIRE au présent de l'indicatif alors qu'il aurait fallu le conjuguer au présent du subjonctif et dire : "il y a de grandes chances que vous fassiez certaines de ces erreurs vous aussi". En effet, tu n'exprimes pas quelque chose dont tu es certain comme dans : "je sais qu'il fait beau" ou même "je pense que vous faites certaines de ces erreurs" (tu n'es pas sûr qu'ils font des erreurs, mais tu es sûr que tu penses qu'ils font des erreurs). Je ne sais pas si j'ai été très claire, j'espère que c'est compréhensible.

    • @@9isy7y, permettez-moi une petite correction. Ce n'est pas complètement vrai que "quand on parle d'une personne, on met une majuscule à la nationalité". Oui, ça peut arriver, mas pas toujours. En fait, on ne doit mettre une majuscule à la nationalité que quand elle est employés comme substantif. Si je veux dire, donc, qu'un homme a la nationalité française, je dois dire "il est français", avec une minuscule, parce que, dans ce cas là, le mot "français" fonctionne comme un adjectif, pas comme un substantif. Pour que le mot fonctionne comme un substantif, il doit être précédé d'un déterminant (un article, par exemple, défini ou indéfini): "Les Français aiment beaucoup le vin"; "Le premier homme à traverser la Méditérranée dans un avion, c'était un Français"; "Il s'est marié à une Française", "Dans la réunion il y avait des Espagnols, des Italiens et des Français", etc. Dans tous ces cas-là, le mot "français est employée comme substantif, puisqu'il est précédé d'un article. Par contre, dans "il est français", ça n'arrive pas.Là, il s'agit d'un adjectif de nationalité.

  • Je suis anglophone et je n'ai pas de problème avec les erreurs que tu as mentionnées car je maîtrise plusieurs langues romanes et on utilise aussi "avoir" dans ce cas (j'ai ___ ans / j'ai froid / j'ai peur). On utilise aussi venir + de (acabo de hablar) par exemple. Pourtant, dire "c'est ma soeur" et "ce sont mes parents" n'est pas uniquement un problème pour les anglophones. Dans les autres langues que je parle on peut utiliser les pronoms correspondants (il / elle / ils / elles). En anglais, on dit "it's my sister" et "these are my parents," mais on ne dit pas "it is pretty" si on parle d'une personne. On ne dirait jamais "it's beautiful" si on parle d'une personne, mais en français on dit "c'est belle." Je lis les livres "Le Petit Nicolas" et Nicolas dit toujours "ça pleure tout le temps" au lieu de "elle pleure tout le temps" donc je m'y suis habitué. J'aime beaucoup ton français. C'est très clair et neutre. Je comprends tout ce que tu dis, mais tu parles très lentement et tu ne manges pas tes mots. Je crois que c'est la raison. Quand on parle français très vite et mange ses mots (élision) comme tout le monde fait dans sa langue maternelle c'est plus difficile à comprendre. J'ai hâte de voir toutes tes vidéos !

Je suis heureuse parce que je n’ai fait plus ces erreurs, bien sûr je fais des erreurs plus grave,enfin, dans le cas de parler de l’âge je n’ai eu aucun problème parce que c’est pareil en portugais, on utilise avoir aussi. Par contre, quand j’étudiais l’anglais je disais « I have... years ». J’adore quand il y a des expressions pareilles en portugais et français, par exemple « rien à voir » on a la même expression, traduction littérale et le même sens (et je sais, ça n’a rien à voir avec la vidéo, mais, enfin, j’adore les ressemblances entre le français et ma langue maternelle) Merci pour la vidéo, c’était très bien, commme d’habitude.   • Please make video on all kinds of French sentence structure from basic to advance and how English speaking people made mistakes on word position and wrong word used especially when constructing it just like English word when they are out of idea or nervous that I think is wrong. There is no one who created video for it. I hope you get my point. You are our saviour. Thanks a lot bro.
