This was a Boxing masterclass from Wladimir. His speed, accuracy, footwork, distance control and timing was magnificent. This Klitschko would've destroyed Fury and AJ. He had Emmanuel Steward in his corner and still had good reflexes and timing, which are things he didn't have against Fury and AJ. He made Chagaev look average, which he sure as hell isn't. Chagaev had just beaten the biggest heavyweight champion ever, Nikolai Valuev. There's a reason they called him "The white Tyson" He was great at getting inside the range of taller fighters like Valuev, but Wladimir had footwork as well as reach, which is sometimg guys like Wach and Valuev can't say, which is why shorter opponents could beat them. But this Wladimir was close to unbeatable. I mean he barely got caught by a single punch in the entire fight - the biggest punch he took was after the bell. Having the ability to make good and even great fighters look average, is why he's one of the greatest heavyweights in history. His greatest fights, not necessarily in terms of pure excitement, but in terms of showcasing his boxing ability, would be this fight, the one against Haye, Wach, Sam Peter 2 and Pulev.
It's far easier to look good against a sub-6' fat cruiser plodder like Chaggy, it's not a coincidence that Wlad's style fell apart against men his size or bigger. The seeds of this were in the 1st Tony Thompson fight, who wasn't as talented as Joshua, let alone Fury. Even the Williamson fight, where Wlad was having far more problems landing against a somewhat rangy counter-punching mover. He didn't "destroy" Sultan or Haye ffs. If an opponent moved around in a defensive posture, Wlad had problems. Steward knew Fury was all wrong for him and essentially said as much. While I think a younger Wlad (the Pulev fight ideally because that's when Wlad sparred AJ) would have beaten AJ, AJ was a green fighter when Wlad fought him. And Wlad completely sh*t the bed if we're being honest. Vitali: "I told Wlad not to try to take Joshua out, I thought he was gassed out and not going to recover". Wlad didn't have the spine to ignore it, he lacked confidence in his chin/engine and proper fighting instincts, as well as basic intelligence (if it went 12 in London, Joshua wins, if you don't take him out, he may recover and take you out as he's 14 years younger etc.) Wlad was a great on top boxer and very dangerous ofc. He also never quit, unlike his brother. "Sam Peter 2" Wlad was clinching 10+ times a round (no exaggeration) against a very limited short plodder. Effective but not a very impressive display of boxing ability, more hugging ability. "Pulev" Very strong performance, maybe Wlad's most impressive but it came within 12 months of Fury schooling Wlad.

Even if you get past the Klitschko jab you have to deal with the Klitschko clinch and Mike Tyson was far smaller than Povetkin. If the fight was in Europe it would be an extremely tough ask for a man who was 5'10, 215 lbs with a 71 inch reach.
