The whole time I’m watching it “I’m like somethings missing”, and I finally realize that it doesn’t have enough “ear candy”. There’s no announcer yelling “counter” “Great” “fantastic” “awesome”, etc. I think, at the very least, it would be nice to add those things and have a sliding scale on how frequent those terms are used . It could be annoying for some, but honestly, there feels like a lot of dead air sonically. Other than that, this looks amazing!
There is definitely some sound effects missing as well. Watch the kracken super with no roar or anything takes away the impact
2xko devs did say that they will focus first on gameplay and then update sfx and vfx, which they will update before release. So don't worry
I kind of like that there no random announce bs going on. You get to focus more on the match that way, and if there are tourneys, I'm sure the casters will hype things up, but as for the gameplay, you can put your headphones in and immerse yourself in the fight.

I think it needs more icing. The cake is baked well but things like stronger hitting sound effects, visual effects for punish counters and more color effects as well. With those it would feel much fuller
Interesting to see the way incoming is dealt with in this, that first round incoming got the corner but the second player got shoved back a set distance. Finding the good pressure opportunities on the incoming character is gonna be challenging.

Not a fan of the sound design. Hits and blocks don't sound like they have any impact.
It's giving mvci in a lot of ways, for better or for worse. Strikes and blocks also sounded non impactful in that game. At least the game looks better than mvci already
if you watch Illaoi's win animation there's missing elements, and her ult doesnt have the same animation or any sound for it. I'm positive they're just playing on a older build of the game, and it's not even out yet, so we shouldn't expect the game to be like that when it releases next year. It's missing some polish, its just cool the game is in a playable state

Maybe a mechanic that boosts your tag partner’s recovery rate as you do damage could be a really cool thing to see and keep the game aggressive and more exciting to the casual audience. Loving how this looks already.
Do all characters have the same health/hit points? I remember Mvc3 and Ultimate had big variations in durability, it was reduced/streamlined in Mvci iirc,
The pacing and speed of the game exactly looks like Street Fighter with little bit mix of Marvel. I’m excited for this game because I’m an old league player and casual fighting game player 😂. I hope they add more characters on release 🙏 but by the looks of it most likely be DLC characters 😢

I believe they have confirmed a 16 character launch roster. And this is speculation, but as a free-to-play game it’s probably gonna be unlocking characters over time, with the option to pay to unlock instantly.

You mentioned you're a former League player so you might already know this but if you subscribe to xbox pc game pass you get every current and upcoming agent/champion in valorant/LoL, bonus xp among other RIOT games for as long as you have an active subscription. I don't see why that will change when 2XKO, especially when it'll be out on consoles as well.
I think so far my only real complaint that isn't just because the game isn't done yet is that I'm not big on how the camera moves to keep the assists on the screen at all time. I'm used to being able to tell which one is the assist just from the positioning of the camera, so I keep getting thrown off when the called character lags behind the action and stretches the view. But, I suppose that might be a necessary evil because of how often you can tag in and out in the middle of assists.
Is it just me. Or do the sounds for when a character is hitting/falling to the ground during most of the knockdowns. Just. Not exist? Are they falling on pillows? It's just odd with how everything else has such good punch.

when tagging, such as 22:35, is this considered an unblockable due to ekko hitting high on rightside and yasuo hitting low on left, or is ekkos attack considered a mid after the switch

It is not unblockable. As long as you're holding away from the character that currently has the P1 or P2 designation, you will keep blocking even if you're being attacked from the other side by the assist.
Good for Obama for getting that bread but boy this game needs a lot of work. Cuz free to play ain't enough.

@@kei7540 They probably will! But I recall LilyPichu watching EVO/FGC vids on stream and the “I don’t know what’s happening” comment would always come up with clips of games like MvC or DBFZ. I’m sure it’ll be easier to get into it once they fight more players on their level, but I’m unsure whether the dev team has made a compelling effort to explore how the existing LoL fanbase handles the gameplay yet - they’ve mostly had FGC folks provide feedback so far, from what I’ve seen
All lol streamers are gonna play for about 3 weeks for the free content and pay from riot and drop it faster then legends of runeterra (the lol card game)
Its so interesting to watch these early access gameplays. You can tell that the players are still learning about the characters but theyre using their knowledge from other fighting games and applying them here

The game looks really fun. They definitely need better sound for the supers. I seen Illoai's level 2 had no sound while Ekko was underwater and got bit by the Kraken. I really wanna see Katarina.

Anybody who is new to fighting games, but wants to get into this one. Remember that if you are in a block string and your opponent throws out an assist, then it is not your turn yet. The best advice I can give to a newbie is to expect that you will likely be blocking more than you will be attacking at least early on.
We need bigger impacts on hits for sure.
MAYBE but I think charge buttons or big hits felt *good* in person.

@@zoid_on_youtube Sometimes games in beta (Such as this one) would have placeholder voices just to have them there since voicework isn't always the top priority These could also just be the voices, in which some devs have said before that visually they wanted to go for something different, so it'd make sense always having some tone differences to match
@@Yoshikid4070 are you...sure thats a thing? like this is still real voice acting, they paid voice actors to do it, makes no sense to me that theyd do that just to switch later? if they could do that, they could have just used the final voice actors instead. and if they were gonna have a version of the game before getting the final voices done, they would just do it with no voices, since its not required for the game to work

The character models are looking so good and clean it's insane, especially if you just watched the hxh teaser 😂 I wonder how many characters will be added, because it looks like mad work if that's the standart they are going for.
I like that you can tag after an assist. Though the game is a bit slower than I expected.
I think we saw some really good adaption in this set. And should be a good reminder on how people learn in fighting games fuudo is a god. But give Obama a month and he'll rock him
I was playing 1.5 chars. Ahri is kind of unique, mostly just used her for the assist with Illaoi. Feel like if i had another day it would be way different! Hopefully can play at EVO J

you can only combo supers if you select the relevant Fuse. I think yasuo can also combo his lvl 1 into lvl 2 but he's the only one.

The gameplay so far looks interesting, I don’t see where the bbtag comparison is unless it’s in the actual buttons which I hope not. I like bbtag don’t get me wrong but it’s controls is extremely easy, I want something a little more challenging instead of 5A x10

as someone who mained blake/yuzuriha in bbtag, ekko/yasuo is looking like my perfect team lmao. That left/right/high/low setup is my bread and butter xD. Maybe Akali might be able to replace Ekko but we shall see.

I'll be extremely bitter and unhappy if Riot Games don't give this game even a crumb of support for India. Because goddamn, I'm so amped up to sit down, learn, and eventually hold sets/locals for this. Each gameplay is selling me on the dream.

The game lacks impactful sounds and voices, the character screen is so lackluster, no announcers to hype up the fight, the music is too mild and barely noticeable and lastly I am not a fan of how floaty the fight sequence is. Like why is Illaoi - a big hulking character hop like she's made of cotton. They need to make the floatiness of each character equivalent to their size and look

i agree also the intervals for each hits is too slow, like the game is paused for each hits and the effect is too much like example; the hits spark take 1 whole screen from left screen to right screen almost distracting

I think Yas moveset is a bit too generic compared to how suited his LoL kit was to a fighting game transition. They could have easily implemented his Q stacks, giving him ways to build two stacks that could then be expended for stronger moves like his signature tornado projectile. Ekko and Illaoi kinda reflect their LoL counterparts well with their movesets tho. Ahri's kit seems a bit derivative but to be honest there wasn't much to work with given her simple style in LoL.
Sure, they could've implemented Yasuo's Q stacks. But after thinking about it, I can kinda see why they didn't. I'm assuming Yasuo's Q in 2XKO would be a stab, only stacks on hit, the stacks wear off after a time and the Q at 2 stacks would be the tornado projectile. The best way to stack it would be in combos. Since the game's combos are based around launchers and air combos, his regular Q, which is just a stab, wouldn't see much use unless they gave him an air version of his Q and made it so he could combo both in and out of it. The ground version would just be a poke with little reward. Also, after a combo, you'd want to continue knockdown pressure. Assuming you end a combo with 2 Q stacks, a projectile isn't very helpful unless it's slow and lasts for a long time to keep them in blockstun. They must not have wanted Yasuo to be this oppressive 'looping pressure' kind of character.
@@dragonic22 Yes those are reasonable issues, but the implementation of the LoL mechanics shouldn't necessarily be so literal. Stacks could come from a strike with different properties according to the button pressed, usable in combos and maybe with an air variation, doesn't have to be his typical stiff stab. And they could make so the stacks don't wear off so fast or at all and give you a choice wether to expend them in a tornado dash (like EQ in LoL) to add pressure or save them to use later as a tornado projectile - without the blockstun and not really oppressive on wake up - in case the game reverts to neutral. Sure introducing mechanics that are balanced and fit the game is way more important than a faithful recreation of the source material, but adding some extra flavour from the original game even if freely reimagined would be cool

The game looks beautiful, the animations are crisp, but my gripe is that the sound design feels hollow. Hits don’t feel like they have hard impact. I’m also not a fan of the music but that is just personal taste.

i loved bbtag and wanted it to succeed despite it not being the blazblue sequel people hoped it was. but terrible balance patches, stale metas and slow pace/limited support killed the game off. All things riot loves to avoid with their other ip. Just beware riot intentionally nerf or buff characters eventually just to change up the meta rather than strive for a static "perfect" balance.
Surprised by all the negativity in the comments, idk if its just my bassy headphones but the impact on hits sounds chunky and the gameplay looks smooth... I cant wait for this to drop!!!

I've learned to never trust a game that stays in early access too long. If this title is accurate, this game should definitely be fully released by bow
This looks like a decent baseline but I’m a bit confused by the fact that this game doesn’t have more budget being poured into it. I feel like we should know more about the roster because this game will likely launch in 2025. Animation could use some clean up but I’m not worried about that. What I am worried about is the roster being too small. If this game launches with only 6 playable characters in 2025 then I don’t think the game will survive long they showed off illaoi last year and she’s still not done. That is a bit concerning because if this is free to play characters and skins need to release in a fairly timely manner. And if it’s taking this long and they’ve only reviled 6 characters I’m not convinced they can compete with TEKKEN 8, street fighter, or guilty gear. And we don’t even know how long it takes this team to make costumes. If it’s a SF6 level of wait time for costumes then this game is cooked. In terms of gameplay I think this looks pretty good my gripes are I think the round timer is way too long if rounds are taking 2 minutes this will be boring to watch in tournaments. I think they’ve sort of been advertising this game as a marvel-like but it’s not as fast paced as marvel I think they really need to speed this game up a little bit so that people aren’t having 15 min games in Evo. Some miscellaneous things that I caught the characters need more lines of dialogue especially for their tag skills. The grab animations in game need to either be all redone or highly polished because their animations all look super stiff and unimpactful. The effects for Arhi, I know they want to be true to the league skills but her blue effects look a bit drab and could maybe use a dash of pink streaks in them to liven them up a bit. It’s really weird not having a standard character select screen, the scroll selection is cool if you only planned on have 6 characters in the game but if they want to expand the roster we’ll need and actual select screen. I’m critical of this because I want this game to succeed and I feel like this have a lot of potential. It would suck to have all this hype and then flounder after release because of these issues. If the come correct I think this game could make it next too the big 3 fighting games (guilty gear, TEKKEN, street fighter, not MK)

@@doogies oh my bad I didn’t know the footage was that old my bad but I think it still stands that I think they need to show more of the roster. When you were playing what did you think of the round timer?
My best guess is they're holding announcements to line up with Arcane Release and then drop more as we approach beta in early 2015. I believe it was Yasuo's designer for this game that revealed he's working on 2 other champions. If Illaoi's designer has a similar workload, we can at least assume that they's 4 more coming at the very least.
@@DiegoSanstwen I hope so but in my opinion even 10 characters is still too low of a starting roster for a vs game. I’d say at least like 14 characters would be just barely acceptable. Even GG strive started out with at least 15.
the hits dont feel hard enough. The sound design is pretty weak for the sfx right now. also... its not a 'Surprise' after the 50th one. Maybe record an alternate voice line?
