Everyone knows Blake, JJ and Donovan but Mike was the glue to the team and I couldn't be happier that he was the one to seal the game. The most unselfish player I've ever seen in maize and blue, GO BLUE
Gosh, what a team of guys we've had the pleasure to watch. Going to really miss Mike and Blake and hopefully the next group learned from them what team players really are to carry on their legacy.
Mason Graham too. His pressures went so unnoticed this game.
I honestly thought Mikey should've been MVP over Will. Although I'm not mad about Will getting it at all!
They all make up the team not just this guy or this guy etc.
@@zacharymaney2183I wanted don to get it over corum…but if don stays next yr he might
I'm a Michigan fan but the call from the Washington radio guy was gut wrenching. You could here the last glimmer of hope in his voice die .
Congratulations, Michigan. All the heartbreaks are gone. Enjoy this championship!
Indeed, the heartbreak was eviscerated with this win. Go Blue! 〽️💛💙🏆
This was a thoroughly enjoyable National Championship game.
Worst game I ever seen on tv and it was totally fixed for michigan to win football is fake its def rigged money on over and washington both lose books made a fortune again nfl admitted in court it's not a sport!!! Players also said its rigged
I root for Michigan, it was honestly kinda boring, Michigan was just clearly the better team
@@thund3r94same
Absolutely!
Best in awhile!
A nfl team is going to be lucky to draft this guy, He is going to do everything it takes to WIN games and is a difference maker.
I am a michigan fan but props to 37 for never giving up on the play.
For real.
We never touched him, actually. Had we, Mikey would've had the TD.
Paul Finebaum has to be the saltiest person on Earth right now. He had been hating on Jim Harbaugh for years. He said he'd never beat OSU and should have been fired in 2021.
He's the definition of a hater without a doubt
I'm sorry but I can't figure out why anyone listens to Finebaum anyway.
Try as they did ESPN was unable to choreograph Michigan out of this Championship. Congrats to the Wolverines for serving them and all the naysayers a huge helping of crow to chomp on for the next few months!
Remember when ESPN gave OSU a 93% chance to make the playoffs this year. Laughable asf
Really going to miss Sainristil next year. Heart and soul of the team.
15-0 what a season! That man that D... Go Blue!
Put cheaters next to it.
@@jackeroo75 😢😢😢😢
@@jackeroo75did we cheat in the last 6 games though?
@@PatrickStar_123never cheated, ppl are just petty
@@Akerzun im so aware lol. Nobody wants to admit we’re #1!
All I heard for a week was how Michigan’s defense who didn’t play a single good offense would not be able to stop this world beating Washington offense. Lol! Washington’s offense never played against the best defense in the country until tonight. 13 points. Checkmate. Wooohooo!!
Yeah. I kept saying defense was optional in the Pac. Maybe Pac teams' fans understand now. Maybe.
When you have the best defense in the country everyone looks bad against you, funny how that works.
Ya Oregon was best defense in pac12 and even our Duck db's were only slightly above average and Huskies needed miracles to beat us. Michigan did exactly what they should have...great defense and run the ball down their throats (for most the game)
Right, Penix had never seen pressure or a secondary like he did yesterday and looked thrown off
Wow! Three things about that video 1. What a great interception to basically close out the game 💪👊👍 2. The eruption of the crowd was just spine tingling! 3. #37 (I think he's the TE) for UW was incredible on that play. He's the one that made the tackle at the end, but he chased Sainristil down from where the ball was intercepted. That was also a beautiful football play 👍👊💪
#37 Washington 75yrd chase down - respect
That block by #17 was impressive!
I’ve been saying this too! Braden is a beast!
He was too busy showboating after the big block to chip #37, who ends up making the tackle. If he keeps his head up, it’s a Pick 6.
@@patrickselix7366 Westover made the tackle because Sainristil slowed up and deliberately cut inside in order to avoid Penix. Sainristil would have scored if he had just stiff-armed or trucked the quarterback
3:07 a Husky was taught to lay down without food by #17
@@speedracer55 nah that's on 17 not looking back and blocking 37
After the throw, Penix took the right angle and was the only guy to get in front of Sainristil to slow him down so he could get tackled. Would have loved to see Mikey truck through the QB to get in the end zone. I’ll take it though!
This ia a great national championship game! Hats off to Washington with Michael Penix and Coach Deboer for a great season. Third time the charm for Michigan with Jim Harbaugh, Blake Corum, Roman Wilson, JJ McCarthy, and others. Mike Sainristil, the man himself. Coming all the over from Everett, MA to make history with Michigan! A great day to be rooting for the Maize and Blue
Mikey has made play after play after play for the Wolverines. First few years catching touchdowns now stopping them. Great job.
He made Charles Woodson proud. 👍👍
Michigan entire team are dawgs period ...Great season by the wolverines
I was watching on streameast and everyone was predicting a pick right before this happened. Poetic, really.
Enjoy never buying a drink or meal for the next 80 years of your like Mikey. A legend for all the plays the past 2 years.
Mikey’s speed is crazy.
Congrats to the Wolverines!!! They went out and took the championship 🏆. But I gotta give salute to Michael Penix Jr. He wound up not having his best game but his grittyness and just being one tough SOB earns my respect. I think Michael Penix Jr could be outstanding in the NFL.
Injury prone. He won't last two seasons.
@@joshuarunyan2516 Maybe. Maybe not! Just keep in mind over the years there have been injury prone players that still had long productive careers
Did they say what injury he has? He's been dealing with things all season as pretty much every player does but he sure made sure all the cameras saw how hurt he was once game was getting away 😂
@@mattmeuw7828 His ribs were openly taped up going into the game. Texas tagged him at some point during the Sugar Bowl. Michigan flat out roughed Penix up
Hated Westover as a Michigan fan during the game, but the kid balled out whenever given the opportunity. Obviously it didn’t mean anything in the end, but he ran back 85+yards to catch up with Mikey and save a pick 6. In a closer game, that’s a humongous effort play. Kudos to #37
Bro. I noticed the same thing. That boy has heart!
Oh my goodness Mcgregor destroyed that guy on the block 😂
Michigan was on a mission! Michigan against everybody! 😂
Mission Accomplished Michigan
Mikey Sainristil could arguably be the MVP for many game since his move to defense. Will be sad to see him go but I know he will have good days ahead of him in the NFL.
The only thing missing from these games of Iowa, Alabama, and this game, is Gus Johnson calling it.
Thanks for trying to steal.our season and our coach, ESPN. Cheers to us.
'hard work pays off. dreams come true. bad times don't last, but bad guys do'
Sanristril deserved co mvp honors with Johnson and Corum.
HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT!!!!!!! GO BLUE......2023 NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!!
Congrats Michigan!!!
Congrats to em but this game was boring
I'm so Happy that Mikey Sainristil, unselfishly switched positions and was rewarded with a clinching interception to win the National Championship! Hopefully the Lions will take a flyer on him to play Sundays. If not, the Wolverines should give him an assistant coaching job if he decides to stick with Football as a career choice.
It’s GREAT to be a Michigan Wolverine! 🤌🏼 💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙
It's all about blue. Baby! YEAH BOY!
You got that right.😊
Go blue Congratulations on our national championship. I give credit where credit is due. Number thirty seven from washington that dude hustled down the whole Field to catch dude that intercepted the ball that's a player everybody needs To washington congratulations on a great season do not hang your heads Be proud of what you accomplished
i want to underline the dedication of nb 37 Jack Westover on that play.
Washington did not belong. This same team was 1.5 point underdogs to lowly Oregon State toward the end of the season. Washington got here because they played two teams that play awful defense. Tonight, they ran into a freight train. Michigan is the first national champion I remember as a kid, and I've always liked them, mostly because they've always been on TV. J.J. McCarthy is one of the great winners in college football history. When the game was close, he found a way.
Washington did all they could and honestly they played well there just not better than Michigan
Idk man. I doubt that 1998 Michigan team would have beaten Nebraska. You needed 2 weeks to recover from a Nebraska loss. They made Peyton Manning look like garbage.
@@jyashinno way. The 1997 Michigan team would have beaten Nebraska by double digits. Nebraska’s offense was one dimensional and Michigan had the best defense in the country that year and a balanced offense, exactly like this year.
OoooWeee it’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine
McGregor laying the lumber on 7
Mission Accomplished Michigan Third Times A Charm
All the more awesome considering he was a WR for his first 3 years with the Maize-n-Blue. Mike Sainristil is a certified Michigan L.E.G.E.N.D. Go Blue!
Did you see the blocking? Michigan just completely manhandled this team. Bo would be proud. Those who stay will be champions.
The final commentator, beyond doubt, had the smoothest but most effective delivery in my opinion. M Go Blue! 💙A2, Mi!
You can hear mccafrey heart breaking with Michigan stomping out his boys....
He's SEC biased. I don't blame him, it seems like he doubted that Michigan wouldn't be able to overcome adversity. So far he seems to be acknowledging Michigan's success.
Jim Harbaugh just won a national championship, now it’s John Harbaugh’s turn to win the Super Bowl 😌
😂
As an OSU, and Bengals fan I would kms if that happened
As the worlds biggest Husky hater, I love every single call and could not get tired of watching all of these!
I’m a dedicated Michigan fan but I do respect #37 for Washington not giving up on the play, he was in the area of the interception and ran the whole way to make the tackle on Sainristil.
Woo😂hoo🎉 congrats 👏 Michigan ❤
Best interception ever! Still blows my mind three months later.
Rosengarten is a Michigan Football Legend!
“continues to GROW”🗣️
Love how you can hear the crowd pop on the SkyCam broadcast
I remember this, my entire family was going nuts, and I was yelling “GO! GO! KEEP GOING!”
Harbaughs are legend
it is the calm walk off after the tackle
credit #37 for hustling and preventing the pick 6 though #17 could have blocked him if he'd turned around and looked.
That last call was funny, you could really hear the disappointment in the commentator’s voice! 😂 The guy is so talented and so humble. I think he’s going to carve out a nice career in the NFL.
I loved seeing this from multiple angles and the different calls. Loved Doug Karsch and Jon Jansen starting at 2:14 Doug's raspy voice is unusual for a big time broadcaster as they normally go with "clean" voices, and Jansen (former Wolverine) actually has a great radio voice and his comment makes him come across as kinda "dopey funny."
They are very bad...no need to make things up and pretend they are good.
Its great to be a Michigan Wolverines we are some jolly good fellas
"The legend of Mike Sainristil continues to grow!"
Game was over when it kicked off lol. Congrats to Big Blue for finishing their story.
Can’t watch this enough!
Go Blue!!
#GoBlue〽️ yes sirrrrrrrrr we did it! What the haters gone say now?
Harbaugh has got to love Sanristril like a son.
MIKEY HE LIKES IT
As a Michigan fan, and even though i know it wound up not mattering, im still bothered we never touched #37 of Washington. Had we even knocked him sideways a bit, it would've been a pick six easily.
Perfect season. Let that sink in.
"do you trust your reciver against one of the best DB's in the country...and its intercepted by mikey sanristil" 😂😂😅
Those who stayed ARE Champions!! I love Braiden McGregor flattening #7 near midfield with a legal block. "Have a seat, son!".
While Mike was in the right spot, lots of credit again to the Michigan pass rush. As with Ohio State, Jalen Harrell is in the QB‘s face, forcing him to throw much earlier than they wanted on this play. Pressure up front forces an error.
He likes it! Hey, Mikey!
THE Michigan Wolverines have THE best fight song AND helmet logo in the country hands down 🫳🎤
:59 Chills
what a great way to seal the deal
GO BLUE
Hey Herby, he didn't have Odunze...Sabb had coverage over the top
Big Play Mike!
I'm a Michigan fan but can we talk about Washington's #37 running Mikey down
In these situations, blockers often fail to look behind them.
True blue after 26 years we back on top
hope y’all enjoyed this SEC-less championship after multiple appearances because with playoff expansion, there’s gonna be at least three in it each year.
Truthfully, the national championship should have been between Michigan and Georgia. They were the two best teams in college football, no matter what anyone says. Washington, Texas, and FSU (without Travis) did not belong.
At least there weren't a bunch of backbiting (two faced) buy-bull beating rednecks (SEC Fans) in the crowd at this game for a change.
@@Zenigundamthe problem was just 4 teams now it’s 12 next year.
At least no one in an SEC needed someone from their side over on the other side stealing calls! Lol
And so will the big ten what’s your point
Michigan Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🏆👀
Nice!!!!!
What happened?? I thought penix was the next coming of Jesus and was going to will his time to victory. Oh well maybe he will learn to actually go through his reads instead of just staring down 1 guy the whole play
Penix was, once again, a split second from getting clocked-by Harrell.
WE LIKE MIKE 👍🏆🔶🔷
MICHIGAN 🐐 s💙🏈
Seeing this play multiple times, it is clear there were a coupleof Michigan guys who could have blocked Westover back around the Washington 35-yd line, but never looked behind them or didn't think Westover had a chance to catch up to Sanristil. I sure wish that block whould have happened. Sanristil deserved the extra attention a pick six would have brought him.
Frozone cannot be stopped 〽️〽️〽️
Let’s Go Michigan #GoBlue
Mikey is the Goat
Go Blue, but shout out to number 37 for his chase down effort. Chased him from the 20.
I sure would’ve like to hear Jim Brandstatter on the call. Grew up listening to Jim; both U of M and lions games aren’t the same anymore. Like when madden and Summeral retired
