NBC 10 talks to graphics expert who analyzed Princess Kate's family photo
NBC 10 News on Monday talked to an expert in user experience who analyzed the photo of the Princess of Wales and her children that was pulled by leading news agencies because of concerns it was manipulated.
The image generated all kinds of buzz online, especially because it was the first official photo of Kate since her abdominal surgery two months ago. The royal family has said little about her condition, which has only led to more speculation.
Jennifer Smith of the American Graphics Institute said using freely available forensic software, she can tell the photo was changed.

Getty, AFP and AP pull fake royal photo of Princess Kate and kids. The editing was done by an amteur. There are so many discrepancies. They photo is also not currents and Kate's face is from her Vogue photo shoot.

What is wrong with people so what if a picture was touched up some I am sure that if Prince William took the picture with a digital camera he is probably not as good as Princess Catherine is. If he had it on automatic and and if it is a digital camera then yes it could be a little bit blurry. Nothing is wrong with it. Some people need to get a life and give them a little courtesy and stop being so negative on everything, they have a life.

If that was Kate, who had severe abdominal surgery, she would not be wearing skinny jeans. She would be tender in that area. The issue is it was provided to the press as an “official photo” from Kensington. So basically it’s provided with photo credits and a date. So it’s news, in which case they can’t use it if it’s altered. For example, if you provided a photo of a natural disaster but added a building that’s not real then it couldn’t be used. It’s not about touch ups.

I don’t understand the whole process about news outlets “pulling” the photo. 0:39 The photo didn’t just magically disappear, once the AP Pulled it. It only made it a million times more noticed. MidJourney CAN do an image just like this AND an obvious "tell" is Prince Louis' fingers. Deformed hands are an obvious MidJourney error and flaw.
At first, glance, I did not 'see' anything the media saw. Except, beyond Charlotte's skirt, I saw a different plaid pattern. Upon closer inspection, just now, I still see that, and see that Louie's pants are a bit askew, Kate's top is laying weird, and Kate's 2 hands are different in that one is blurry and the other is not. But, upon listening to you, I see that Charlotte's left sweater sleeve does look cut off a bit like the hand is different and the sweater sleeve doesn't lay right and actually seems to cut into her wrist. And, William is missing. That image took a lot of time and work to compose. Seems like a pretty desperate measure. Is Kate still alive? (I love throwing stuff like that in)

My take on this as a Brit - My concern here is that, this is about the Palace releasing a photo to us Brits, here in Britain, knowing fully well it was manipulated! Then conveniently telling us that Kate, (whom we believed was recovering from surgery), - suddenly had the time to sit down to start manipulating a photo that they told us William took! This sounds familiar to many of us here in Britain - where - Kensington Palace/William - released a statement, a few years ago, that Harry said "William was not a b@lly" - when Harry had SAID NO SUCH THING! NOW, it's Kate saying SHE Edited the photos, that William took.
