I have Monterey on my MacBook pro-2020 13 in and the battery life is way longer with low power mode my laptop usually dies in 2 hours on a full charge I'm on 4 hours with still 40% left amazing feature.

Nice overview, and much less skeptical than many others I've seen. I'm curious about the changes to Safari, I too practically live in it and already have trouble finding a bare spot in the menubar to use to drag my window to reposition it. I heard Craig say nobody does this. I do. Many people are concerned that Shortcuts on the Mac means AppleScript is going away which is complete nonsense. Apple confirms that "deep" Mac automation will continue to be supported and even Automator will still be around for a while longer. Thanks again for your upbeat review. I'm really looking forward to macOS Monterrey.
But my bigger question is Is the beta safe right now? Should I upgrade? Because the features and the wallpaper are really calling out to me but I’m worried about my MacBook Pro M1 having problems
Well I do not own a mac yet but I plan on it before Monterey's full release but the features I'm looking forward to are the Focus hide my email universal control low power mode on Mac and lastly shortcuts

Imagine having a shortcut that turns on low power mode on startup/idle and another shortcut that turns off low power mode when using high performance programs

Logitech Flow works with iPads AND iPhones too btw. And you can copy and paste from one computer/Tablet to another - even Mac - Windows back and forth.
Note that the 2014 Mac mini was sold until 2018. The ones that were dropped in Monterey were discontinued much earlier than the 2014 Mac mini.
Cudos to changing the lightning in your studio and color correction change. Your faces and hair is not red anymore and the light is much better now that you moved it from noon position.

No, Synergy wasn't the first with this "flow" idea... the first was VNC which creates a "remote desktop" with all the pixels in the left or right of your PC 1 pixel width to transfer the control to another computer. VNC was open source and multiplatform so it was very usefull to do this with let say MacOS and Windows or Linux. At work a guy use VNC to control a Unix workstation from his PC running Windows NT 4.... that old!

KVM allowing a keyboard to control multiple macuines has been around for decades. The wireless aspect and file transfer is somewhat new but probably based on Airdrop.

The only reason I don't use Safari much is the lack of multiple user function. For that, I have to stick to MS Edge or Firefox.

I am wondering if Air Play to Mac will work when I am doing a Zoom (which i live on since 2019) and be able to share my iPad screen as a whiteboard. Do you know if this will work?
Not quite sure how Universal Control would benefit me. I have two Mac minis (2014 Intel and 2020 M1). There's some software (well VMWare, possible Handbrake) that doesn't port to the M1, so I suppose having them act in unison with a single mouse and keyboard would be some benefit, but I'll have to wait and try it to see. Tab Groups sounds interesting, but one of the main disadvantages of leaving lots of tabs 'active' is that poorly implemented web sites can suck up loads of memory and CPU cycles. Better to tuck those tabs away into Favorites and reclaim the resources. What would be nice is a way to set aside links for later use (like a pasteboard). I often have tons of articles hanging around in open tabs that I may not get around to reading for days or weeks, and adware on those web sites is often chewing up memory. So something less permanent than Favorites, but more prominent than Reading List would be helpful. Also, auto-expiring tabs would be cool too. If I haven't read the article xx days after opening a tab, I'm probably never going to.

Honestly, not sure I would disable Tru tone while editing. Willing to bet the vast majority of screens viewing the final media (photo or video) also has Trutone enabled.
Is ther any equivalent of Windows 10 - Windows+P button. I am finding even switching off monitors and screens at will to be very difficult. Will Monterey change that?

i don't think it will increase above 20 hours, because that 20 hour figure was movie playback where the processor was only using efficiency cores anyway.

Yeah sharing keyboard and mouse between devices I have on linux for like 4 years now but innovative is not what makes Apple great - it's easy to use and intuitive. However about that efficientcy of using screen - on my linux title bar buttons are moving into global menu space when app is set to fullscreen/maximized - this would be design change I would welcome on my macbook. It does not have any sense to me to store them in window space.
The Safari redesign simply doesn’t catch up to Vivaldi foot visible tabs and tab groups. Great to see Shortcuts on the Mac, but it probably still won’t compete with Keyboard Maestro.

Spatial audio does not work very well on my M1 Macbook Pro. Apple's website says it WILL NOT work with M1 Macbook Pro's, that it will ONLY work with the new 2021 Macbook Pro's that just came out, but I AM getting spatial audio with Apple TV on my Macbook Pro. So which is it, Apple? Will it work or not?
