they need to stop hating on folie it’s a masterpiece
yesssss!
One of my favorite records ever.
Did they hate on folie during this interview?
@@AGoldenBoon lil bit
folie a deux is arguably their best album
"I wanna write the most saddest most desperate song that you could hear at a wedding" is pretty much FOB in a nutshell
Zane was so right when he said that for a real fall out boy fan listening to Pete and Patrick's creative process was like gold dust, I feel like I've been craving this interview for my whole life.
right!! This interview is what ive been waiting years for
an hour of pete and patrick talking about their soul-deep artistic bond, what a treat. none of what they've said is new to me, but what is new is the maturity and comfort they're showing while discussing the subject and the band in general, which i love to see. as a longtime fan, i'll always be here and waiting for whenever they have something to share with us because i know they make music for the right reasons.
Couldn't agree more. I love their relationship and its such a treat to hear Patrick share his perspective
To find out that Patrick has a voice like that and yet didn't care about singing at first, is insane to me. I don't even want to think about if he kept that hidden.
Same thing with Brendon Urie.
@Codie Rufener Absolutely. Voices of the God's between the 2 of them. It's part of why 20 Dollar Nose Bleed is my favorite song. The 2 of them together is vocal perfection.
same, can't imagine life without that voice
He's got a soul voice
Imagine all the other people in the world with hidden talents that never have the courage or space or opportunities to discover them.
The fact that Patrick called Folie a weird record as if it’s not one of the greatest and most underrated rock records of all time.
FOLIE ,TAKE THIS & MANIA DESERVE JUSTICE cada uno de esos álbums, son increíbles a su propio estilo.
@@BabyAnnihilationfr
Nah
@@BabyAnnihilation take this? Mania is trash
Pete and Patrick are literally soul mates.
Pete and Patrick have such an incredible and healthy relationship. What a powerful duo.
They’re the post modern Lennon & McCartney 🎶✍️✨👏❤️🔥🤘
@@Pinnfeathers this is exactly what they are to me
35:01 stop why is that so cute Pete’s like reassuring Patrick “I was just kidding it’s ok ❤️”
My favorite part of the interview is when Zane mentions that Joe and Andy are a big part of Fall Out Boy and there is no Fall Out Boy without the two. People mostly talk about Patrick and Pete but those two are just so under appreciated. 30:17
Pete comforting Patrick while they talk about the break, very sweet.
"I'm like a clockmaker, I have to have someone to order the clock and THEN I will make that thing" is the most ADHD thing ever and boy, I feel ya, Patrick. That was a targeted shot, holy moly.
FOB is relevant because they evolve, they don’t stick to one thing. Pete’s lyrics are a constant and Patrick’s musical ability is a constant but they are always changing
Una gran Banda 🤘🔥
They are the best band in this planet 👍
Hearing Pete sneaking in lyrics as conversation. ❤
Canary in a coal mine ❤
I love that Zane brought up the fact they are not ‘dumbing down their abilities’ because fall out boy should never be put in a box or genre. I love that they take risks and Patrick can deliver and showcase his voice in any way he wants. He shouldn’t have to sing a certain style just to appease the emo scene. He’s very talented and can sing any genre. Much love and appreciation for him, he’s a gem!
Ikr, I’m so sick of their older emo fans desperate for their old music… it’s like they aren’t allowed to grow and evolve and change their style 🤦🏽♀️
Patrick singing the blues at the end of W.A.M.S. gives me chills every time I hear it.
they’re kinda like a modern day queen with how they can’t just be out in a box and i love it
@@kelseyharmon9498 yes but their fandom won’t allow them to grow and evolve, they want them to be the same as they were in the beginning of their career when they were just kids. They are far too talented for that and don’t need permission from anyone to step out of the box their fandom has put them in which is emo rock.
I love hearing artists just talking about how they create, it’s so interesting. Patrick and Pete are literally two sides of the same coin, it’s a miracle they ran into each other in this lifetime.
What an interview. Asking about what the band is to Andy and Joe. The dynamic of Pete's fame vs Patrick's craft. Great questions.
9 Inch Pie Plate, Rolling Pin is the song of the summer.
Already pre-saved on my Spotify
“its like a canary in a coalmine” why’s that pete? because sorrow is just all the rage?
he took one for the team, we all know what that means.
And (he’s) so sorry, but not really. Tell the boys entre to find (his) body.
yeah, you know, New York eyes and whatnot
Is it weird this interview has me in tears??! Like this is the most insightful and deep interview I've heard for them and it has me sobbing. 😭
I feel 1000% the same way
All of Zane’s interviews are amazing. He’s the best.
The genuine appreciation he has for the band and its members SHINES through, I wish it was an hour longer!
once they started talking about what a time to be alive I was basically in tears. I feel you so hard.
I will always love singing Saturday at the end of a show. I'm so glad fall out boy stuck around even in just little moments. I can't wait for this album.
Always a fan, and this interview proves why I will stick by this band. Stardust is an incredible album that I can’t wait to listen to for years to come.
They are SPECTACULAR band 👍
I appreciate that Zane Lowe is such an excited Fall Out Boy fan as well as a wonderful interviewer. This was such an awesome discussion.
Hablo español y no entendí,pero lo poco que entendí.. es que el entrevistador es fan de FOB? Creí que les hablo grosero o poco respetuoso con sus otros trabajos de FOB ¿?
A really important band that shaped the musical journeys for many of the 90s kids. Always ready for more fall out boy !
🤟👏
Great to hear them reflect on "Arms Race." It's the song that, I think, showed everyone they could make lightening strike more than once.
True
43:25 "it's so good because you haven't felt that good listening to a song in a long time" THAT'S IT!!!! i have such a hard time articulating why that song hits me so hard in such a good way, but THAT'S IT!!! i haven't even finished this interview, but he's so right this is absolute gold dust for someone who loves fall out boy. particularly when you consider how many years people dunked on fob for being idk....emo band of the week, it feels so special to hear someone engage with them in such an earnest way, with such reverence for what they do...thank you for this!!!!
They are the best band ,point!
Which song?
I need the extended/uncut version of this immediately, please and thank you. I’ll pay!! As a FOB fan for more than half my life, this is the exact conversation I’ve wished so many times that I could be a fly on the wall for.
Patrick's love of words and sounds is SO clear in the music and lyrics. Why I love FOB music. I ALSO love the weird and crazy and creative words from Pete!!! A match made im Musical Heaven.
i love when an interviewer is like. good at their job. like between this and zach sang there’s something special about interviewers who pull these conversations out of people and it’s less interrogation more discussion
to sit here as a fan for over 19 years this was probably one of the most emotional interviews i’ve ever seen in years. they continue to amaze and excite me at 29, I couldn’t be more proud!
Es maravilloso cumplir años con ellos! Es un honor formar parte de esta excelente banda. Me siento bendecida 🤍 de conocerlos! Yo cumpliré 28 años en el aniversario de Take this to your grave 🤟 no quiero morir sin conocerlos e ir a sus show espectaculares. Es la mejor banda del mundo entero ,tan Pura, versátil.. realmente no encuentro, mejor dicho no hay palabras para decir lo que hacen, lo que su música significa 👏
This is one of the many reasons why I absolutely love Fall Out Boy. Their way of thinking, the way they present their emotions in their songs, the way they just talk in these interviews. Idk how to put it into words but they are different, and it's a good kind of different and it makes me feel like I'm not alone. This interview alone almost made it feel like a moment of self recognition?
When he said "This is the first time you've got it right", that HURT ME lol. Infinity on High will forever be a MASTERPIECE.
What he said was "it's 'LIKE' the first time you got it right" not at all that this album is the first good album to come out of fall out boy :)
Woah woah woah he said "it *feels like* the first time you got it right"
I can't understand what he meant by that lol. like ik he's not telling them they've only made bad music before, but I can't figure out another way to interpret that
I think he’s saying it feels fresh. Like it’s as satisfying as a band getting it right for the first time. Judging by the rest of the interview he clearly doesn’t think that’s the case
His point was that, even after 8 albums, it can still carry that same feeling that you get from a band the first time they get it right! I had to do a double take as well when I first heard it, but in that context, his comment makes a lot of sense.
Never had anyone verbalise the same feeling I get around September! Everyone doing something new (school, college) and when you’re an adult it’s just life with no big changes
This is by far my favorite interview. Zane is such an amazing interviewer and really pulls out the real stuff from the guys.
What an immaculate interview. They vibed off of each other the whole time, they sound like they’re having so much fun.
26:03 the fact that he was able to think of a tune right then just proves how creative he is 😂 and the voice! ✨
the falsetto on saturdays enriched my childhood patrick
I think they now realize that Folie is their best album as of late 2023/early 2024 because they’re playing those songs live again. They need to just accept it’s their masterpiece.
The best thing about this band for me is how they've grown together to be where they are with each other.
the fact that pete just starts at patrick like 😍the whole time makes my black emo heart warm. these guys are the best, so much love♾
The fact they did pavlove in Philly was amazing ❤
Patrick could make an entire album comprised of just food recipes and I'd still listen over and over.
God Patrick is such a gem 😍
mannnn seeing pete and patrick like this is so cool. they feel like the kind of duo who were always meant to find each other and do cool stuff together
I really love these chats with Zane cos he's such a genuine fan of music. Their interviews are conversations of passion, it's almost like he's not at work - he's just vibing with artists. I bet that's so refreshing for musicians.
The way they write together is so fascinating
feel like a creative relationship like this only comes once in a lifetime and i'm so lucky to be witnessing it
I would listen to Patrick sing recipes, phone books, my doctor's diagnosis, legislation...
I can see how “SO Much fOR STARdust!!!” was a fun word/sound thing for Patrick but a total thought/concept for Pete
I was thinking this the second I heard the song. "Thought we had it all (x5)" also seems like such a fun thing to sing
Boy's still going. All their success is of course based on the excellent editing of their early videos. (By me of course). Keep rocking lads!!
FOB probably one of few bands/artists that are still makes original music without ending up sounding like anyone else
This interview was great. The insight into the process is amazing. I'm not exaggerating when I say they made me who I am today. With the album, I definitely felt like I was 13 again and discovering fall out boy, and feeling as I was uncovering a treasure, all over again. I'm just glad I exist in the same time they do. I feel privileged to hear them now and to have heard them for the first time. Thanks for giving my life sense.
Todos los discos de FOB es Increíble, versátil, salvaje. Está banda es increíble y merece cosas buenas y todo nuestro apoyo ❤
The best band in this planet 🤍
jesus christ im such a big fan of pete and patrick, BIG THANKS to the interviewer!!!! so nice to see REAL ENTHUSIASM and EXCITEMENT from him talking to people he respects!!!!!! thats professional!!!! respect my dude, you brought out the best out of them !!!
I've been looking for a video with Pete and Patrick breaking down their songwriting process for over 10 years. Thank you for nerding out with them, Zane
"If you're as big a Fallout Boy fan as I am, this is gold dust." LOL PREACH
Tbh fob saved me from a dark place in my life, like honestly listening and watching this video and hearing them actually telling us the meaning and us interpreting the meaning of their songs is sooo incredible! Im balling because of happiness and because of them its totally worth it to live again!! Honestly! This id why im still alive 😔😭😊
💓💓🤘
My favourite band. I was hanging out for this interview like the filthy addict that I am.
I love Patrick's soul punk album!
Same, I wish he knew how much people truly love it
40:56 IM SOBBING
35:00 Pete admitting that he didn’t like the fame and relearning what it’s like to be human again was wholesome. Because at the time Pete was so desired and the most popular one of the group. And Pete understanding that it’s not everything and it made him unhappy. Zzz
Respect to Pete. He knows what makes him happy.
I am so happy Patrick stepped up to be the lead singer because his voice lights up my soul when I listen to the music! Any album! I love you guys! ❤
This is by far the best interview of the FOB. I love their insights and the love for each other's role in the band.
i love it when pete uses his own lyrics to describe something
This band is PERFECTION, KINGS, LEGENDS! God thanks for this band .
Patrick is one of the best vocalists of all time
Fall Out Boy lyrics are so poetic, one of the many things I love about them.
the way pat talks about music touches my soul and its so amazing how I listen to the stuff fall out boy makes and the listen to the way he speaks about his reason and how passionate he is AAGHDJSBDN its just so beautiful I love pat and petes bond and I forever love fob
Patrick singing a recipe is life ❤
One of my all time fav bands. Folie is in my top 10 all time albums. Great to see them back on track with this one!
New KZhead channel: “Patrick Sings Recipes.” I’d definitely subscribe to THAT 🎉🎉🎉
I adore Zane's interviews with artists. It's such a joy to watch him genuinely learn more or understand the artistry of his guests. I had no idea of the writing dynamic between Pete and Patrick. What a great interview. I'm so excited to see them on stage.
Such a fantastic interview. I’ve honestly never watched such an in depth discussion with them before.
The album is just out of this world!
Where is the album I can’t find it ??
@@paulrussell7723 For me it was available on Spotify at midnight on the 24th of March, but it might depend on the timezone, I think.
@@am30769 Thanks a million !! No words for how good this album is.
🎵 9-inch pie plate, rolling pin 🎵 The bop I didn't know I needed
i wish zane would let the boys talk more lmao
What an awesome interview. This is the nerdy stuff I could talk to each of them about for hours. Patrick liking "sounds of things" is exactly the sparkle I struggle to find and he delivers to my soul lovingly every time.
25:55 this was so hilarious and amazing 😂 when Patrick started going “EQUIPMENT FOR MAKING A PIEEEEEE!” 💀
Can't explain how much I LOVED this interview. Huge fan of Grave, astronomically fan of Cork and avid rooter of High and Folie, but if FOB tomorrow wants to keep evolving I'll be forever following them to the end of times.
Long time FOB fan, it makes me so happy to see them so excited about music and hearing them talk about their writing process!!! and their friendship and connections... just good stuff. Truly one of the best bands ever. Thank you for the interview 💜
Hay pocas buenas bandas, pero honestamente Fall Out Boy es la mejor ! 👏🤍 nadie como ellos👍
yessss I found myself feeling that SMFS felt like Folie a Deux again but wayyy better and more explosive!! Im so so so glad they returned to this vibe of super hardcore pop punk show tunes rock
I couldn’t agree more :)
id watch patrick stump sings recipes all day lol
This was such nice look into their songwriting process.
the love and admiration these two have for each other is beautiful to witness
I love these guys so deeply…and I hope that life, egos, labels, feedback from the world….never becomes a wedge between them. They’ve done such a great job of being individuals who are a family in the name of art. ❤️
They are the best band in this world 💓🤘
Man i love seeing them all smile and laugh about how great fall out boy is! I was giddy the whole way through watching!
This interview is so inspiring and so interesting. I love how Zane always gets bands to really open up about all of their experiences through their life. I now have a wonderful new found respect for Patrick and Pete’s songwriting and the way that both of their massively different personalities come together perfectly and produce musical poetry. Also the way you discover the subtle hidden meanings behind their music and lyrics when you listen to FOB play.😊❤️
Big fob fan. They always kill it.
36.15
Each album is of its time and struck me at a different point in my life. My 2007 self will forever be grateful for Infinity on High 🙏🏻
I'm planning on getting a little Franklin the sheep tattoo because that was TRULY when Fall Out Boy made it clear to me that they were going to be a massive part of my life.
26:18 god i love this human being...
I’ve never heard him say it but I’ve always known that Patrick is a “sound of the words” guy. Great vocalists are. I once heard that Mike Patton from Faith No More does the *exact* same thing, but he writes the words too, so it doesn’t always make sense.
Incredible interview!! Love them so so much!
A CANARY? IN A COAL MINE YOU SAY? (I've got all this ringing plays in the distance...)
This was so great, I enjoyed every moment of this interview. Thank you
This was such an amazing interview. Thank you so much. I love getting a look inside their genius minds.
Loved this interview and love Fall Out Boy
This interview made me really happy. I absolutely love the new album and am so excited to see you at the end of the year
Thank you guys so much for being open to talking about ALL of this. Inspiration to the highest degree for me
this conversation was so organic & smooth. Thank you guys for that 🙌🏻
folie will always be number one patty
what an amazing hour. we are so blessed to have this band, just so special.
