The 80s and early 90s were the golden age of action movies. Since then, we have had gems here and there, but nothing can compare to this era of film.
You’re right.
The Last Boy Scout was a forgotten gem. I loved it.
It cracks me up when he slams the door but it just goes straight through.
That had to be in the script, it's a perfect physical expression of Murtaugh's helpless frustration in that moment.
You can hear the door make contact with the stopper but clearly it didn't stop, also when Riggs leaves the door is set closed. So that and the fact that most of the "Iconic moments" of movies often are accidents. I wouldn't be surprised it the door swinging past the jamb was unscripted but like you said, represents the helpless frustration of Murtaugh.
@@AgentExeider cuffs separate when they jump too.
LOL, all this time I was thinking the same thing I’m glad you brought it up
Reminds me of when I use to get scolded by my old man looking back I'm convinced he done it on purpose as I always found that fuckin hilarious 🤣🤣
That chemistry between them began in that store, but peaked in that car ride.
"Do you really wanna jump? Do you wanna? Well that's just fine with me." And the eyes: priceless.
Exactly! He’s great lol
😂😂😂😂😂 For real
😂 Manson Lanterns
Interesting little tidbit: the psychiatrist, as it turns out, had a crush on Riggs, something suggested in part 3 or 4. So his being "on the edge" probably both attracted and troubled her.
Here we go Jet Li lethal weapon 4 vs Lethal weapon 1 Riggs lol
"I'm hungry, I am going to get something to eat!" LOL, I miss the old MG Movie's.
He just devoured a hotdog b4 the jump
@NuFo Yeah you beat me to it .
Movies
This is in my opinion.. the best cop duo movie EVER
He actually looked more insane than your guy on the edge of his woes 😂
That’s how you do it You gotta out crazy the crazy guy
That was the point.
mels intensity is second to none and love it when he says i'm hungry and completely changes his attitude .......still one of my favorites with mel!
definitely second to Nicolas Cage.
@@veryhuman7472 Nicolas who?....never heard of her
@@daman9780 😒 you made me google that to make sure I'm spelling it correctly
"Wanna go up again, lets go again. Come on, that's great! Woohoo! Woo!" 😂😂😂😂
I don't think I have a death wish, but I do love the adrenaline, and that's what I would say.
Well the jumper is down and wants to live. Mission accomplished.
I said that after riding Iron Gwazi with my son.
LOL the handcuff broke the second before they jumped but magically reconnected when they hit bottom.
What? Are you saying.....it's fake? GASP! 😳
Nice catch
@@tomcoon9038 No if you watch it again you can actually see there hands come apart. I think In real life it would have broken there hands. And then again on the ground the handcuffs are on again.
They can't jump attached because one jumper could rotate the other during the fall. You can't land on your head it has to be on your back.
Yeah, I saw that, that's called stuntmen doing their job to be safe, and something the crew didn't pick up on in the final cut.
This movie was the action equivalent of what “THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION” was to Drama. One of my favourite movies of all time.
The attention to detail, where his skin gets pinched stopping the hammer from striking the primer. You do not come closer to stopping a suicide and he realizes that all in those last few seconds of the clip. Shits deep where boots
Most memorable Lethal Weapon Moment
When i was a child i couldn’t understand why riggs wanted to end himself. now that i am grown and been through trama just like him i totally understand.
I went to a house it was for sale I’m an oil heat tech needed a sign off they sent me Halfway through I could tell something was wrong Not with the house but the owner His wife and child died in a car accident and he had lost everything I talked with him for about an hour We cried together I made absolutely sure everything I did was beyond questionable When I got back to the office I told them, we are not charging this man He’s been through enough and I respectfully refuse to turn in paperwork My boss said, that sounds fair, no charge
Those were the good old days I miss the 80s
The 20th Century was the peak of humanity.
Mel is a legend, it's a shame hiw Hollywood treated him, thank god gir RDJ to have is back
I was born in the 1970s and I wake up everyday single day in 2024 and think the same thing Mel.
No. Save as much money as you can. Invest it, grow it. Find a country where the cost of living in local currency is half that of the USA. You will be fine. If you have issues with terrible past events, employ the analysis of Alfred Adler. Behave (live your life) as if no bad past events ever happened to you. You're welcome.
@@randymillhouse791 Great advice Randy! Thank you!
04:27 You wanted him down, he's down!
I mean....thats a win in my book
I'm to old for this shit 😂
He slammed that door close and open at the same time 😂😂😂
It became a wild west bar "door" after that.
Mel Gibson does the crazy eyes thing so well, anyone would think he was nuts
They don't make movies this good anymore......
Movies were just plain different back in that era, ahh to be a kid again
8:28 the moment Riggs and Murtaugh became brothers for life. The start of a relationship.
"Do you wanna jump,well do yah.Let's jump"😂😂😂😂😂
Ahhh another Christmas classic!
Die Hard? ;)
One of the best movies ever
Brilliant …..Love Mel Gibson…..I have all of these films on DVD.
This is where I started my crush on Mel Gibson. Man……what woman WOULDN’T have a crush on this beautiful creature?!? Love is WIDE-EYED look when he gets mad. Beautiful eyes! One of my favorite parts of this movie is the end where he is shirtless fighting with Gary Busey. Damn, he is handsome!!💕💕💕💕💕
They say I look like Mel Gibson's twin...
"GET IN HERE❗️" Favorite scene 😄...
Best cinematic scene of all time! GOAT Scene!
great chemistry between these two.
Why has this been edited to cut out the full cigarette lighting part? that's how Riggs tricks him with cuffs in the actual movie 🤨 and the "stay up here long enough we'll both die of cancer" gag 😂 after he gives the guy the cig.
Modern day society can't handle someone being offered a cigarette...it's offensive and promotes behavior. Meanwhile, our children are being brainwashed 86 ways to Sunday in school and through the internet. This society is too sick to even fathom.
The best buddy cop movies ever. Lethal weapon 🔥
Nah this movie will never take off and be popular 😂 🤣 Loved these characters! Proper old school.
Miss all these oldmovies like lethal weopin great nostalgic memories
That saxo at 1:12 alone is better than most music nowadays
DO YOU REALLY WANNA JUMP?? DO YA WANNA O_O
❤❤❤ Gibson/Glover the best!
Man why did you skip the cigarette scene?
I know! I was wondering that too, where Mel goes C’mon, we’ll both die of cancer, which is a great line
@@Adulteducation8 yeh man. Maybe cut out for certain countries that ban videos for smoking like Thick Tok lol.
3:43 the cuffs come apart so they have to hold hands as they go down LOL
wonder why so big movie mistake is let in big budget movie.
Why are you up here? None of your GODDAMN BUSINESS!!😂😂💀💀💀
Gotta love the chain from the cuffs being not connected when they jump.
Best one of them all
"Hey, don't worry...have a French fry." So many people in this world need a French fry.
A great franchise of movies.
Whole gang of chinese old people watching DIRECTLY in to the camera when they are getting in to their car😂
I loved Lethal Weapon when I was a kid and nothing’s changed Gibson & Glover are a double act the 80’s had the best action movies Lethal Weapon Die Hard & Beverly Hills Cop
Me after a stressful day: " I'm hungry"!!❤😂❤
7:02 Glover creates the now famous line I’m too old for this 💩
If you see at 3:45-3:46 the middle of the handcuffs broke, then it attached when they are down 😂😂😂
This has to be one of Mel Gibson's finest performances. He has this character down to a T in this scene for being a victim as we find out later of post traumatic stress disorder due to his wife being killed when he as we find out was the intended target. The look in the eyes when Danny Glover has given him the gun says it all.
0:11 old folks inside the car in the background staring the whole time 😂😂
5:00 "Oh, whaddya wanna hear, MAAAAAAHN?"
Great actors, great movie ❤❤❤
The handcuffs 😂
"You really are crazy.....shit"😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh Mel Gibson eye colour is blue 😂😂😂
Yeah he was famous for it.
I love Riggs’ hair in this movie and the third one. He had it shorter in the second movie.
beautiful 80´s
Nothing better than the Mel phone leaks... LMAO
Anyone else catch the guy looking at the camera at 4:32. He tried to correct himself but as the camera pans away, he’s STILL looking at the camera. Made me laugh hard!
What a great Series. LETHAL WEAPON is one of my absolute favorite greatest! ;)
Looks like a good release. Those colors are beautiful!
If you look closely, you can see when they jump their hands aren't cuffed together anymore. I'm assuming to prevent any injuries to the stunt guys when they landed.
Me, every time someone asks me to jump start their car: Do you really wanna jump?!?!
All the times I’ve seen this movie and I just now caught the “Roger” “what?” Little nod to Airplane! maybe?
Riggs: "you want me to drive?" 😂😂😂😂😂
This is still one of my favorite action packed movies of all time. Great directing by Donner, and the soundtrack by the late Michael Kamen. An almost perfect action movie, until Die Hard blasted it away from my nr 1 spot of all time back then.
Just realized the marquee on the theater says "Lost Boys - This Year's Hit." The Lost Boys came out AFTER Lethal Weapon! Talk about product placement!
3:43 3:45, the "handcuffs" break apart...
Car is still in park
3:35-😂😂😂
The lethal weapon and True detective are the best
"Lost Boys" at the cinema... what a great movie
3:47 - Director Richard Donner used a similar stunt and similar camera angle at the beginning of his 1980 movie, 'Inside Moves'.
Best scene of the movie.
5:42 PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!
Loved these movies
Pulls up and parks under the jumper🤣
Scary to think this movie is soon to be 40 years old.
He just had a hot dog 5 minutes ago and he's hungry again? This guy really is crazy.
Love this part as kid
This is one of the scenes which shaped my personality, Mel Gibson is pure God here, what a man.
I missed this movie❤❤
Here, have a French fry. Makes me chuckle every time.
flamby ... ppi !!! pardon😂
I picture Rocky the Rooster & Mile the Mule in this movie!!
This film series is so damn good man 😂
Amazing scene.
3:44 The chain broke.
I know it’s an action comedy, but the original movie (and some of the sequels to a lesser extent) really drew on the theme of trauma-induced mental health issues amongst cops. And this was also at a time when nobody was really talking about that. My older brother has been a cop for close to 35 years now, so I really appreciate that the film didn’t handle these issues in an exploitative or dismissive way.
in the start of this clip there's the wiltern theater across western ave, which was no longer a film theater but concert house, but warner bros stuck the lost boys (another wb release) on the marquee for advertising another summer release.
The cuffs...lol... they had to see that, and just let it go lol...
Fuck you… I’m jumping!’ A classic
"All it takes is one bad day" - Riggs
Mel Gibson did a brilliant bit of acting in this buddy action movie….
The "bracelets" are broken, he has to work on tricks 🤪
Classic, i love it.
I heard they were in talks for another Lethal Weapon? Not sure though?
Love his wide-eyed…..
