The plaque on the house reads: our home is a quiet haven of peace and sweet union; welcome be the friend who brings us your heart. ❤️❤️
That's beautiful!
Thank you !
Wow, thanks for translation...
If I had such house with a husband who looks after me I would have had the same plaque 😉
6:51 - "Our home is a quiet haven of peace and sweet union; Welcome be the friend who brings us your heart." - I just love it, and your narration at the beginning of the video it's perfect. Thank you to show us so many beautiful places.
Thanks
Wow!! That is so beautifully written!! I do artwork and I would love to put that in maybe calligraphy above my entrance door to my home!! Or maybe gift it to my adult children for their own entrances to their homes!! They are so kuch like me , I know they would love it! Especially written in a special calligraphy , as both of them also write in calligraphy! It is such an artform in itself , and becoming a lost art quickly!!
I particularly love the warm yellow ambient lighting in this place that creates a sense of passive calmness and contemplation which is unobtrusive. I would love to spend time socializing with friends in this place in late evenings and nights.
When I moved to Puerto Rico, I learned to wash clothes in a Topper like that, and for years I stood washing my clothes by hand most of the times even now, the soap we used to use was a bar soap in blue color that would last for ever with out wasting and the clothes would come out bright clean... loved it. You took me back in time when I saw that part of the video.
It must have been such a sureal experience to wash clothes that way, it really brings you back to the simple things in life!
Bros Of Decay Yes it was..
I’ve got the blue soap as well. My family from the Caribbean also used it lol
I grew up using this "lavaderos" (washers in Spanish) - and I still use a portable made of glass to take the stabborn spots by hand.
Hre in the phillpnes we do that untel now. We use washboard to wash our clothes
The sign in the blue tile says: "Our house is quiet shelter of peace and sweet union. Welcome be the friend who brings us his heart."
Such a warm welcome.
I love how colourful Portuguese decor is ❤ This must have been a lively place in its time with workers and family passing through. I can only imagine the hustle and bustle in the kitchen, in the garden, and in the wine facilities. This was a soulful place.
Portuguese people are so good nature. I love them.
I love your imagination and how you can tell a story! Ya are my favorite explores!
That is just lovely to hear! You are the best
Lesley, you have such a calming and palliative timbre to your voice. It is the perfect accompaniment to the visual story you tell. One of the most beautiful places you have showcased yet, and very reminiscent of a few Tuscan villas I’ve seen in Italy. Exquisite.
I would have loved to see it during its prime days, it must have been very elegant
I agree walking into the place through those grand doors and being greated by the artwork!
Your voice is so sweet and soft and it's just amazes me how people just leave everything behind family pictures kind of sad if you think about it what made these people just up and leave
So lovely!! Thank you so much! What a majestic beauty to be seen by the world in its rustic antiquity, as it should be! ❤️
I adore the French Wine 🍷 Castle with painted ceilings and walls. Beautiful job well done Leslie. You da man!!!
I like your videos, you explain what we are seeing well. And I love. Your voice it's just a nice voice to listen to. Thank you.
Wow, thank you Nancy, lot's of people comment on my voice and I have not realised it myself. Should I do something more with it?
@@BrosOfDecay You are already soothing people's minds with it. Thank you very much,
I enjoyed this video . I love the grounds. And the house was magnificent. I love every room . Sculptures and paintings. Shame it's left to deteriorate. Wish I could buy it. But I'm not a rich person. I would have it restored. To the original gorgeous state. Take care both of you. Have a wonderful day.
Wow just wow! The craftsmanship is just beautiful!! I sure hope someone can save the paintings or murals and the woodworkings!!👍👍👍
Love your voice, it's so soft and relaxing; when I'm stressed I find myself turning to your videos, its like ASMR. Great job btw :D Always neat to see these abandoned places.
I bet that place was absolutely amazing when it was new.
You explain things so well and with so much feeling.. This was beautiful.. Thankyou Lesley..❤
You have a calm and respectful demeanor. You are an old soul who has great interest in sharing the past with such detail with in your sweet story telling. The soft music, the filming to get all details and angles as well the educational background info just makes for a enjoyable experience to view. Thank you for capturing these beautiful historical places which at some point unfortunately will be gone forever.
That was amazing but also very sad to see all that beautiful art work rotting away. Thank you from Africa.
There are no words that would do this home justice of such magnificent magnitude. The delicate and intricate arches of the palaces outdoors, such a huge arrangement of eye candy with art and the museum quality of the painted Rose's and the patina that has inrobed the wine bins, OH MY.....the list is limitless, I just wish as I know so many would, that SOMEONE would save this magnificent peice of art and the entire home is just that. Priceless, and another wonderful video as usual from the Bros of Decay. Thank you for showing us beauty in a form of a piece of art made of porcelain, memories and skilled art.💗
Incredible. This place should be restored and made into a museum or something.
I would love to live in an amazing place like this. I hope it gets restored
How does this happen? Not just this place, but so many, glorious structures now left in decay, but at one time we’re still intact. I watch these and don’t understand sometimes how it’s all just abandoned. It hurts my heart.
Just found what you do a week ago. You do a great job. Some of these people that lost their beautiful treasures were bullied and threatened by some of 13 bloodline families. So sad!
Another beautiful tour. Magnificent. Lesley, great job as usual. Thank you.
Hello Lesley and Jordy! Wauw The castle is full of architect details even not furniture inside in the past was Extraordinary Magnificent. Thank you always to very polite narration of the history of the place.! I am hope you and the rest of your family doing well now. Please take of yourselves and stay safe . 👋🇺🇸😘😊😍👌👍🎥. I love how much of this magnificent place is still intact. It's awesome you got this memorized on video for others to enjoy. Thank you, for sharing.
Interior is really eclectic for 1926! I like all the delicate details, plaster work and frescos... It's not the concrete building and it's deteriorating gracefully, but attention to detail is amazing!
What an amazing Palace. The hall where you enter and the dining room are spectacular!!! Thank you so much for sharing another wonderful place with us... Hopefully someone restores it before its too far gone...
Thank you so much! I sincerly hope that somebody will restore this place in the future!

Thank you another great vlog
Hi Lesley and Jordy Bros of Decay, Wonderfully narrated introduction! - I really love your very gentle way, how you again approach the life of the former inhabitants of this amazing Portuguese wine palace. - Once more I also loved seeing Danny in your video, because I also like watching his videos as well. - These huge winetanks looked incredible considering the enormous size. - The entrance hall is absolutely breathtaking, especially the amazingly still intact murals. I think it is all done in the Portuguese neo baroque style. - It is really such a pity that this place is just left there dacaying to pieces. This really makes me sad to see!!. - The grand hall with the mirrors is incredibly breathtaking and reminds me a little bit of the palace of Schönbrunn near Vienna. - Absolutely wonderful video of a truly magnificent location, which I enjoyed watching! - Wishing you all the best, my dear friends of the winning team Bros of Decay!! - Take care and stay safe. Kindest regards.
Hey Willy, Lovely to hear that you enjoyed this episode, Danny is a great guy and he deserves to be noticed out there :) This place was just wonderfull with such incredible designs and articafacts left. Thank you for watching as always, Hopefully I can make it to Switzerland this summer... Kind regards, Lesley
@@BrosOfDecay , Hi again, Yes, Danny more than deserves to be noticed. I so so hope for him, that he gets much more subscribers. - Wonderful feedback, and you are very welcome! - It's my pleasure, and I am looking so very much forward to meeting you again, dear friends!!!! - Stay still safe, peace and take care. Kindest regards.
Your such nice respectful guys- Thank you for taking us on these journeys-

Hi Lesley & Jordy, this was such a magnificent place and I really loved the ceiling decorations with the gorgeous paintings. Such a shame they had to leave as they obviously put a lot of time and love into designing it. Thank you for sharing. xx💖
Thanks so much 😊 such a shame that places like these get neglected...

Very good and nice video, thank you for making such beautiful video.
Massive production of wine making was going on. I love the artwork showing the grapevines and way of obtaining juice back in the day. Enjoyed this vlog and decay of ceiling could be due to roof leak. Thank you
Something amazing about your exploration 👍🏻👍🏻 keep safe and enjoy your travel, Brother 😊
Thanks, you too Marta!

Beauty all around !
Thank you very much Isabel!
This Church is in a small French village in South Western Ontario and masses were in French. It had two alters one on each side of the main alter which was a beautiful white spiralled topped French architecture. The walls on either side had the stations of the cross on them. In it's day it was heated with coal. The basement had a coal furnace with an auger feeding the coal to it. The priest home was next door and there was a convent for nuns next to the priest's house. The nuns taught at the school that is still being used.
Thank you, so interesting!
Very beautiful love this 👍
I like soooo much your findings & your way to show them !! Those paintings on the walls seems greek gods.
Beautiful paintings
Loved old wine houses.
