Thousands gathered Saturday to say their final goodbyes to NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, who was posthumously promoted to detective. The 31-year-old father was shot and killed during a traffic stop earlier this week. CBS New York's Naveen Dhaliwal reports.
Never would have happened if NYS didn't coddle criminals. The "Suspect?" was arrested over 20 times prior to this. Ridiculous!

There was a time when officers used issued revolvers, decades later now they’re Glocks, and with the escalation of crime and ghost guns with switches they need another evolution. Tactical gear better armor plating, and automatic rifles. The days of polyester uniforms is long gone, and I’d personally feel safer seeing police with military gear.

If this detective was doing a traffic stop suspecting a hard criminal was in that ride the correct thing to do was call for back up before even intent that stop traffic. Sad to say that lots of police officer forgot the police academy training.
