i wonder what it was like to see the performance of that piece live for the first time. the orchestra sitting on their chairs and then some guys moving some cannons around and filling them with powder. that should be an experience.

Given that most of these compositions are quite familiar to me, I'm astonished by how fresh and engaging my experience was simply by listening from the perspective of a 19th century villain. It's true -- context is key. In this case, a major key.

for the first time in my life, i’ve actually kept up with an exercising routine (i’m coming up on about a month now :D) and i just noticed that i’m starting to get results!! i’m able to walk for 30 minutes straight without having to stop to catch my breath (which i haven’t been able to do since i was a kid) and my stomach is a bit smaller!! not really an evil victory, but i needed somewhere to celebrate lol-
