All this beauty will surprise you until some driver falls off again. Oh yes, how can we forget about the variety of installation files, which only complicates working with the OS. A huge minus of linux is the lack of standards, the lack of uniformity in those moments where it is really necessary. So, this is a big breakthrough, it looks great, but >read above

That's why it's so awesome. Standards and uniformity are for companies or consumers who want stability. This gives you freedom to do whatever
@KaraboK9Ntswane2 ай бұрын
@@KaraboK9Ntswane Poor people, who made your heads so clouded? Ask any engineer, without standardization nothing in the world would ever be built or created. Let me give you a trivial example - Swedish warship Vasa. The ship did not sail because the engineers who built it used different units of measurement. If they had the same standard, this would not have happened. It’s stupid to boast about this when this is the most obvious problem of Linux.
@user-yf5kk6om5o2 ай бұрын
@@KaraboK9NtswaneAnd where did you get the idea that standards and uniformity are contrary to freedom? There are standards in programming - these are various libraries and utilities, like CMake, that everyone uses. Thanks to this, people from all over the world can develop even this ill-fated Linux
@user-yf5kk6om5o2 ай бұрын
How can you say something is 'freedom' if you have to follow a standard? My comment still stands. You are defending the consumer who wants stability. Giving example of ships is stupid. A standard is a way to make something work as expected for 99% scenerio which is exactly what a PAYING consumer wants. This allows people like me to make what we want. it's pretty, indeed
I agree
what about ubuntu 24.4 is hyperland work properly?
Can you I do the same with other distro? link Arch.
Yes endeavouros is based on arch
This is amazing, I cant wait to go back to linux.
what are you planning to use? (wm and distro)
that path string in your vscode terminal at 0:48 is absolutely unhinged. Which wm you use?
That's not supposed to happen. I'm using hyprland

WOW IS THAT WOFI THE ONE YOU OPENED CHROME WITH?
yeah
Can you share how to do it?
I believe it is hyprland or KDE with some themes
it looks more like hyprland tome but I am not very experienced in Window Managers
will post a guide soon
I wrote a guide here: github.com/maxhu08/dotfiles. Might post a video about it but it's kind of hard to record me installing it.

@@maxhudotdev Ah. I'm a former Linux user, and may upgrade my PC soon, I'll keep this in mind!
A dock, Rainmeter and wallpaper engine look and perform better than this, while using less system resources in many cases. And that's on Windows.
I used to use to rainmeter and wallpaper engine for a few years but I switched because you can’t choose the window manager and taskbar
also a lot of things don’t work on windows like fish
Its not desktop 😅its windows manager
desktop environment 🤝 window manager
It is indeed a desktop, you could argue that it isn't a desktop environment. But I'd say that this is also a DE (not Hyprland alone but Hyprland combined with wallpaper, bar, app launcher etc.). And Hyprland itself isn't a window manager either, it is a window compositor 😅
Are you a programmer?
yea
@@maxhudotdev full time ? Web dev ? Frontend or full stack ?
It's all cool until you start using your system for months and realize there's multiple issues and switching back to Windows is easier and better for your workflow. I can't even count how many days I wasted configuring my Linux system to be perfect, just to have random bugs pop off.
yea. so far this setup has worked decently but i still keep windows around for gaming
Eh, it's nice but I've seen better. I've seen desktops that shift terminal colour schemes based on the wallpaper that was chosen--all done on the fly.
you mean pywal ?
Yeah, Pywal.
I don’t use pywal because I don’t like when all the colors on my terminal look the same
i dont know
?
naaaaah is not "beautiful"; it's just basically hyprland with the same copy & paste config you find in every single unix-porn post
🤫 i need that click through rate
why fish, just use bash
fish has better vi_mode, has a customizable vi mode indicator, shortened directory, is easy to customize

@@KaraboK9NtswaneAnd where did you get the idea that standards and uniformity are contrary to freedom? There are standards in programming - these are various libraries and utilities, like CMake, that everyone uses. Thanks to this, people from all over the world can develop even this ill-fated Linux
If you want a work 9/10 solution, go to the windows/mac platforms @@user-yf5kk6om5o
