    • No matter many spoilers you get a great movie knows how to build up climax so don't complain, if it's a death scene you will still cry, if its a relief moment tears of joy and laughter will come and if is a romantic rollercoaster your emotions will be along for the ride. As long it's a good movie

    • Maybe because they want it to be something about romance? And if that is all your looking at and commenting about instead of the fact they are talking about mental illness and trying to show what it feels like and that isn’t physocotic then you are watching the wrong movie

  • I've seen people saying this movie depicts a wrong image of schizophrenia because it looks romanticized or whatever, but I disagree. This movie is not about schizophrenia, it is a coming of age movie with teen romance and the main character happens to have schizophrenia. People with illnesses like that have a life you know, their illness doesn’t define who they are and much less is their entire personality; also I personally think that they did a relatively great job at portraying it.

    • @@TheMia0987654321 I meant that he's schizophrenic but his entire personality doesn’t revolve around that; and I get that that's a reoccurring conflict in the plot, but the story is about navigating life with this newfound illness, but I don't think the illness itself is not the main point, you know.

    • You are correct. Its very hard. Only the strongest conquer it. This movie is just another brainwasher. Schizophrenia doesn't exist, you are hearing or seeing other dimensions. Once you know that you deal with it totally differently and can not let hinder you. In life everything is about what you believe. If you truly believe something you can make it happen. ANYTHING. 99.99% of people are brainwashed and do not know this as fact becuase you don't even try. The more you defy " reality" as you know it, the more you see that anything is possible. And everyone you tell will most likely call you crazy. They are the sleeping ones.

  • I myself have schizophrenia, or something schizo-like, so I do share the pain of anyone watching this trailer and angry that again an attempt by Hollywood to honor the mentally ill has been messed up. Here's my own perspective: I'm a very loving, forgiving mental case. Rare I know, but I exist and this fact alone scares people. I can understand that. People tend to be fearful of what they don't understand. Still, if you wish to know my own life, whatever might dispel the bad taste this movie might leave behind, I'll try to answer any question you have and I would encourage everyone to give friendship a with us schizos a chance. You might be surprised at how non murderous we truly are. I still enjoy the original Psycho and I find Anthony Perkins mesmerizing, but that's my unique perspective. How you approach me is up to you. Be brave. Kindness and love are what I offer. And a good sense of humor. Promise!

    • I've never really met anyone schizophrenic before. Perhaps it's very rare here in Africa

      @smontana5133@smontana51333 жыл бұрын
    • Why is it messed up? He isn’t portrayed as murderous so that’s you just projecting isn’t it? I mean this is just a trailer and you yourself said that you feel you are an exception to others so surely this could be portrayed as an extension of that, it’s just someone else’s experience, all of which are different. Also it’s a teen movie so it’s going to be catering to that demographic but just with an awareness of something that’s not really mainstream which is a good thing isn’t it? I think it would be constructive to say what you don’t like about it or you feel is a misrepresentation but also remember that just because it’s not speaking your story and your truth, doesn’t make it necessarily wrong.

  • Yeah as someone with a brother with schizophrenia I don’t like that this seems to be making mental illness a romantic notion. It’s a very hard mental illness to diagnose and to treat and takes years to really understand and usually doesn’t even present itself till mid 20s. Not sure how I feel about this premise and their take on it.

It’s about someone who’s having a real struggle and is human still and isn’t evil just someone who has their own struggles and it shows how he gets bullied and shamed for it and how he isn’t bad but people don’t care about that and I love it. • Tenet Trailer comes to mind. Because they know that Nolan fans want to know the mystery. Horror movie trailer are also mostly not telling the whole story. People who watch stories like this want to be sure that something stupid doesn't show up at the end. People who want to see romcoms want to see the girl getting they boy, not the boy falling for the mother. Its about the expectation of the audience. People who claim "Oh I saw the whole movie in the trailer, now I don't need to see it" wouldn't have watched the type of movie anyway. And the marketing shows that, so the film producers go with the thing that works.
