  • I love this! It's another wholesome family saying, "Hey, it's ok to buy things from the store, to eat what you can, when you can. Sometimes during the busy seasons, just buy food, and enjoy the time together." Also I love to see what are some other options at Costco 😉. Thanks for another great video!

  • As a native New Yorker, the first time I ever walked into a Whole Sale club was OVERWHELMING. it was the size of 2 city blocks in the suburbs. To this day I still get anxious/ agoraphobia when walking in.

  • I wish my town had a costco. We only have a Sam's. Nice haul. Amazing that it takes a thousand dollars today for what cost a hundred dollars 20 years ago. I wish my pay would have went up 10 fold over the past 20 years.

  • Can you show your outdoor building pantry? I just had your video pop up and I clicked on it. I have considered doing that but how do you handle excessive heat or humidity with an outdoor building holding groceries?

    @JamieC444@JamieC4442 ай бұрын
    • Hi Jamie! Thanks for the comment and question. We might not have explained it well. We don’t have an “outdoor pantry”. We have an additional office space that has some storage that we use for our food storage. Sorry.

  • life is about doing the things you love. I will continue to try to grow great vegetables instead of picking what makes more sense. I can grow and sell flower plants well enough that I can buy the greens and fruits. but I WANT to grow what I eat. I can bake bread but I love the sourdough from the supermarket so why bother. spend your time and energy where it matters.

  • Sorry your kids had to go to hospital 😢. Thefist time I went to Costco I filled 2 carts! You don't have to justify your food intake! Even the Rhodes by covenants foods🤔. They plan to try and grow everything but Rebekah is still buying humas and chips. Will they really make there own corn chips,we shall see🤭. JO JO IN VT 💞

  • I guess it's social media that has brought homesteading up to a "prestige" way of living, all home grown, made from scratch. If you aren't not eating organically, then you are not doing what is healthy etc... I'm 59 and grew up on margarine, white bread, etc. I was probably 33 years old when I started thinking about food in a healthier way, like real butter, whole milk. Food that is grown organically, I just came aware of in the last few years and I see how beneficial that can be. But, I wouldn't sweat it, if you can't eat that way all of the time. Just do the best you can when you can.+

  • I personally love canning but my garden skills suck. I purchase my vegetables and stuff from local farmers. I will get seconds and then can them. I have a local farmer that I get milk from and my cousin raises beef on grass and I get meat from her. Do the research on Annie’s Mac and cheese. It is not good.

  • So sensible and I bet less waste. Why not get the kids to share a banana?

    @rachelfrees1268@rachelfrees126817 күн бұрын
    • Haha!!! We try, and usually one of us end up eating the left over banana. Plus, our kiddos are wonderful and beautiful goofballs and don’t like eating after each other. 🤦🏼‍♂️ BUT! Bananas never go to waste here! Either frozen for smoothies, or freeze dried! And of course the peels always go to pigs and chickens. 😁
