What if each character death had a unique ending when they died? For example, if Gray and Clair died and they had an A support their endings would be: Gray - "Shortly after the war, Gray died from his grievous wounds. His feelings for Clair died with him.", Clair: "Shortly after the war, Clair fell from her grievous wounds. Before her death, she wanted to be placed next to Gray for she could not respond to his feelings after the war." It would make them an undying memory for generations
Only 4 years late, but there actually is something like that I think if Tobin dies and Gray and Clair survive, they call their son Tobin or something. Could be wrong though
I also recall that Python and Forsyth have unique endings if the other dies. Python finally becomes responsible like Forsyth, but dies In battle shortly after. Forsyth, struck with grieve due to Python's death, settles down into a distant town.
If Clive is alive but Mathilda die (after saving her), he suicide in a battlefield. If Mathilda live and Clive not, she became a high graded general of the Valentia army. Good ending i suppose ?

In my first playthrough, the only death I had was Deen. But it hit me hard. I hardly realized he died until his character popped up "Woah. Why is he gray? Isn't he like, purple and shit... Oh... He died. Shit..." And the song wasn't making it better either.

maximaldinotrap Sonya dies after the game (it's very implied she becomes a witch) so anyway... Just choose Deen. Also, Deen is cool.
How do you even let Deen die? Brave Sword Dread Fighter combo literally makes him unkillable. I don't think his health ever fell below 50% for my entire playthrough

It's good. I heard you could beat the entire game with only Alm and Celica with the two Dracoshields you get from Disaix imposter and evil mage meaning even beating grima with only alm and celica.

Some units have plot armor. Others died in DLC maps. That's why you have variants.
It Appears there's an ending each for the two armies, and the really important plot characters (like Lukas, Tobin, Gray etc) get that special "The world was darker" ending.

No Zeke means Ogma and the Grustian royals are screwed. No Est means Abel has no motive to betray Marth I don't see any immediate repercussions for Catria/Palla not being present
Collector Togami Marth dies because you don't get base 16 speed (20 is the cap) goddess (Palla) at chapter 3
No Zeke, means no Sirius to free Nyna from Medeus' brainwash in the last chapter in FE12. Nyna will die by either: 1) Medeus eating Nyna to restore is HP or 2) Kill Nyna to prevent the former from happening.
Technically sequels have always been as if you lost no units in the previous game, but I see your point. In this universe marth is royally screwed.
