  • I feel like Butterfly Guard is the big missing link to my bottom game... I have a great DLR, Lasso and Closed Guard, but I _really_ need to get my ass in gear with this! Thank you for posting. Can't wait to start practicing.

  • Thanks you so much I just finished week 2 of learning the butterfly guard but I could not sweep anyone and kept getting side smashed and I kept putting my head to the wrong side and I was not using my bottom foot as a push it was just laying there. Also I kept applying the knee Sheild because I thought they where going to pass instead of putting it on the outside. Also I key falling down to my back instead of my side on my shoulder. Also I was doing the grips wrong. Also I kept trying to force the sweep with the same grip instead of switching sides or switching grips. Anything you can think of with the aspect trying to sweep the guy I was doing wrong. The only thing I was doing right was getting to the position but I just could not finish it. Thank you so much for this video this will definitely help me with week 3 of using the butterfly guard So I can get it ready for competition use and fully add it to my game. I think after seeing this and then I am going to practice it for week three it will be ready for me using during Houston open after week 3. Thank you so much again

  • I feel like Marcelo Garcia has a very flat back approach to his butterfly guard though. It seems like he only turn to his side during the elevation. He also has this pull and push system which kind of allows him to lie on his back flat? Any thoughts on this?
