IAF Tezpur Base Centre Of Chain To Foil Any Chinese Intrusion In The East
IAF Tezpur Base: In the second part of our series, 'Eastern Front Airpower', we document 24 hours in the professional life of the air warriors of Indian Air Force Station, Tezpur in the Eastern Air Command. After interviewing Air Commodore V.J. Singh, the Air Officer commanding the station, in Part II, the StratNews Global team of Amitabh P. Revi and Rohit Pandita, films operations, in particular Sukhoi-30 MKI frontline fighter sorties, and speaks to air warriors on the base.
Giving overall perspective in this documentary, Air Marshal D.K. Patnaik(Retd), the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command from October 2021 to September 2022 says, "all airfields east of the chicken's neck, are at a distance of about 150 to 200 kilometers from the Line of Actual Control. Tezpur is the centre of this chain of airfields. The role is to defend in case of any likely intrusions during peacetime. For other occasions, we have plans in place using all the airfields." The Former AOC-in-C adds, "Should the enemy decide to come, there are only a few places from where they will come. For a ground force, which is wanting to come, it's not a cakewalk. The Air Force has reached a stage where we're not going to allow them a happy movement."

In the US Air Force, the mechanic that tightens the screws and does any last minute checks is called a "crew chief", ostensibly because he is the one airman with more authority to call off a sortie, sometimes more authority to ground an aircraft than a pilot. As an American Airman, I would be honored to serve alongside the outstanding Airmen of the Indian Air Force. Well-done video.

misfortune always fallen on india. 200 years ago india could have easily overran and conquer Tibet. there are less than 4 million Tibetans inhabitating Tibet. And Tibetans are not warriors. it would've been an easy walkover for the indian army to defeat the Tibetans and make them low caste slaves. But Nature save the Tibetan people by creating the mighty, formidible Himalaya mountain range cover by snow and freezing environment. And the Tibetan plateau with an elevation of 14,000 ft makes it difficult for lowland indians to breathe normally and many would suffer altitude sickness. This probably explain why no indians have ever live on the Tibetan plateau for the last 2,000 years. And now with the Chinese controlling Tibet, india have no hope of ever conquering Tibet.
@shermanpeabody6102 .I believe that India has no desire to "conquer" or control any land not internationally recognized as already being Indian. Contrast this with the Han majority ethnostate, which occupies East Turkestan(Xinjiang), Southern Mongolia(Nei Mongo,) along with Tibet.
@@charleswomack2166 Well, actually people from these places frequently attacked Han territory in ancient times, just like India was invaded by Aryans. The difference is that the native Indians have been enslaved by the Aryans and solidified by the caste system. The Han people organized an expeditionary force to fight back, and after some tug-of-war, these areas became the control of the dynasty. If you know a bit about history, you will know that the Dalai Lama was canonized by the Emperor of China. Mongolia once controlled China and claimed to be the emperor of China, and there have always been Mongol princes since then. Xinjiang was once China's mortal enemy, once threatening the Han capital, and was eventually wiped out by the Han two thousand years ago. .....This relationship is very complex, and you can basically understand it as being similar to the three parts of the UK.

My father and elder brother was in India air force.. My father worked in almost every air field in northeast. He was in AN 32 squadron.( 43,49 and 33). My father retired from PTS agra in 1997.

Hope we see Tejas also in Eastern Command as the flying sorties are in a narrow air space with multiple borders. Tejas being small and agile can easily reduce the operational costs.

Just a suggestion for the next series - it perhaps would be good to learn from you and your team about India's INS Jatayu and other naval assets around the peninsula and overseas naval bases. My personal view is that another war with China is not a question of if, but when. It is also quite likely that we will see a lot of action in the seas. So, it would be good for viewers to be aware of India's naval assets and preparedness.

In terms of Airpower India and China both operate Russian made machines but Chinese has upper hand when it comes to stealth with it's 5th gen j-20 aka mighty dragon. If India decided to raid on corrupt politicians our indian Air force will also have a dozens of 5th gen fighter Aircrafts

Fun fact, tezpur airbase houses the top Indian aces, who took part in Red flag exercises in USA and won several accolades in air exercise.

Su-30MKI is a serviceable fighter but the PLA has roughly equivalent Flankers in vastly larger numbers.
IAF needs more fighters with an edge against Flankers and J-10 which are the bulk of the current PLA active fighter inventory. Examples that are available for production in India during the 2020s are Rafale, Typhoon, Eagle II, and Boramae.
