A half million subscribers today...WOW, what can we say but Thank You for joining us on this journey! In appreciation of you all pivoting with us, We are doubling up today- giving you two great guests, in two different shows for a hour plus of entertaining content and conversations.
As our NFL Training Camp Tour continues, we made a special Pivot Stop in Latrobe, PA, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers Training camp and as Ryan would say, the winning inspiration to our Pivot colors! While at St. Vincent's college campus, We spent time catching up with everyone's favorite Coach Mike Tomlin at practice and then sat down with not just one star but two- the Defensive Player of The Year, TJ Watt ANDDD Pro Bowl Running Back Najee Harris! Both conversations filled with football talk and off the field life conversations about the men they are today and the experiences that shaped them.
Entering his second year with the Steelers, Najee Harris is setting high expectations to exceed last season's numbers and terrorize opposing defenses. Najee told Ryan, Channing and Fred, "I want to be the one who keeps defensive coordinators up trying to figure out how to play against me."
Reminiscing about his draft party in a homeless shelter, Najee shares how he grew up in the Bay Area sharing how he will forever be indebted to how he was raised along with the loyalty and trust of those who help shaped him. Sharing some pointers and veteran advice, Fred opens up about some of the smaller things he can do as a running back that will have a big pay off in the end.
Ryan is very candid about how Najee is perceived around the league by both teams and the media which has caused him to double down on always being his authentic self no matter the circumstances. Channing and Najee bond over playing for Coach Nick Saban although both speak on two entirely different experiences.
Knowing the offense will be in a growth pattern with a new starting quarterback this year, TJ accepts the pressure for the defense to step up this year and help slow down some of the high powered offenses, especially in their rival AFC North. Growing up in a football family and following in the footsteps of his brother, future Hall of Famer JJ Watt, TJ talks about how living in the house with his two brothers helped mold him into the player he is today as well as the leader he strives to be on and off the field.
Channing Asks TJ if he thinks he has his brother in talent and success on the field and in an emotional response, TJ takes the time to remind us of how good his older brother really is and all that he's accomplished in his career.
Acknowledging that their team came up short last year and finished off with a record less than the standard of Pittsburgh Steelers football, Najee and TJ both share the sediment to get back to the post season and be Super Bowl contenders this season.
Tap in every Tuesday at Noon eastern for the premiere of our weekly featured episode with special episode drops on Fridays at 6p eastern throughout our training camp tour. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to our channel and check out www.thepivotpodcast.com.

  • I'm watching najee crying as a single mom who had to spend time in shelters with my son. We suffered we struggled I fought us out. My son found football and it saved him. Now I'm sick and can't work my son going to college and trying to make his way in sports management. Trying to be a young man like najee. I don't know what will happen to us now but I'm sending him this video to remind him to keep going. To stay positive and even in struggle give back. I've been a steeler fan all my life and guys like najee is why. Thank you Mr Harris 🙏

    • Fred Taylor was EFFING AWESOME! I loved watching the Florida teams from the late 80's through the Tim Tebow SUPERMAN era. FSU, The U, Gator nation. Bobby Bowden with Prime Time and Charlie Ward, Warrick Dunn, Boulware, number 9 Peter Warrick, T. Buckley, LeRoy Butler, Cromartie, Anquan Bolden, Lavernius Coles, Chris weinke. That's me just listing guys who popped off my screen when I watched from memory. The U with Warren Sapp, DJ Williams Edge James, Clinton Portis Andre Johnson, Ed Reed Ray Lew Lew, Ken Dorsey DEVIN HESTER, Frank Gore, J Shockey, Kellen Winslow, Benny Blades Brian Blades, Russell Maryland, Lamar Thomas Santana Moss. Again just looking in my memory and players names just pop in who I used to watch I for sure was team Florida vs Team America. Then the Gators aforementioned Fred Taylor of course. Spurrier was a genius and wouldn't hesitate to try to drop a 50 burger on anybody. It could be 65-3 end of third quarter, and Spurrier ain't gonna start running the ball every play to have mercy He's like 15 more passes, you don't like us scoring more TD's because we are already up 50 points? Well try and stop us. Got guys like Danny Wuerful throwing 5000 yards to Reche Caldwell type guys.

He was shocked I recognized him and we kinda chopped it up a bit but I just have to get this off my heart. He is such an inspiration to me not bc of everything he's accomplished but just the type of man he is. We both been homeless and struggled most of our young life and I apprecciate How humble and honest he is and just a good example for young men.

  • Najee..... I pray you can let go of the weight of those negative experiences in life that hold you back from uncertainty/worry. You're in a major position to control the narrative king, embrace it but give yourself grace daily. Sometimes it's good to just sit down and listen to hear and not to respond. You don't have always explain yourself. Your work speaks for itself. Let these guys fill your spirit and pass needed game moving forward. You were created a masterpiece in design, step into your power. Youre right on time! Blessings!

  • This is one of the few seasons in recent times where it has been really fun to watch how the Steelers grow as a team and that first pre-season game was the most watchable of those I can recall. The outcome wasn't decided until literally the last few seconds. We really have no idea how far they can go this year which is a bit unsettling but exciting at the same time. So many new faces and it truly is amazing the way guys as young as Najee and TJ have embraced their leadership roles. You guys gave them some great advice about not just football but life in general. Great show. My only regret is that I am spending way too much time watching everything I can about this team and they haven't even played in a real game yet.
