    • Unless some other studio offers them a new project like Disney did with Star Wars. That's why they didn't care to finish GoT properly, their heads were full of potential SW level fame and money. Thankfully they got jack shit. But could happen again with this series even if the books are written.

  • This was amazing and i’m so grateful you stuck close to the material and the inclusion of the cultural revolution scene. I am really hoping for a season 2. Too bad it got banned in China, everyone can do their research and see why. They do have their own version but they cherry picked the history bits and any parts that put their dictatorship under a bad light. Same party that committed those crimes is the same party in power now. But the show doesn’t hover over the fact. Its important backstory that just leads to a certain characters actions that without that info, her actions then made no sense.

  • Who did the background music, the specific arrangement as it is an epic rendition of Max Richter’s “This Bitter Earth/On the Nature of Daylight,” but whereas that Blue Notebooks album take has no percussion, no brass, no backing vocals, no piano just strings with the voice over of Dinah Washington, this does. I am wanting to know who performed it and if it is possible to purchase this rendition. Ramin Djawadi did the Netflix 3 Body Problem soundtrack but this doesn’t appear on that soundtrack. Also it is the general rule that trailer music is done by different composers and production companies than those who do the soundtrack (Ex. “Pearl Harbor” soundtrack was by Hans Zimmer but the trailer used Steve Jablonsky’s “Goliath”).

The show is full of woke tropes, enough bad acting that it ruins the few good actors, and cheap CGI that’s distracting and sometimes causes you to laugh when the scene is supposed to be serious. It’s just bad. But Netflix has nothing, so we watched it. Sorry I did. And when they mentioned the Wow signal, I just stopped the trailer and said to myself. I have to watch this, I know nothing more about it, I don't know if people likes it or its complaining, but as long as it is about a topic I found extremely interesting, I want to know nothing more and prepare to enjoy it from zero.

    • @@al201103The CG looks so much better in this trailer than before, but the VR game being some weird alien device when it should have been a commonplace household item (Quest app, anyone?), the bloody bioshock text from the first trailer, the boardwalk of dead scientists... my feeling is still that subtlety was lost somewhere. Not to mention the awkward internationalized elements when the investigation into Red Coast only really makes sense as a domestic perspective-- it would be like a German criminal investigation uncovering a cold war project in Nevada. I'm still expecting from the first trailer that the character writing and soft-scifi elements will ruin it. But I'm glad we got the Tencent version for what it's worth and the fact that they're producing a Dark Forest CDrama next makes me _very_ happy.
