In this final episode of the Bannerlord Soldier series, Darius makes his last stand against a massive army of the Khuzait horde
This is a series where I play as a lone soldier of the imperial army in Mount and Blade: Bannerlord
The goal in this playthrough is sort of a zero to hero type of progression, where we start as a citizen with no combat skills and join the army to become a battle hardened veteran hero of the empire

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a strategy action role-playing video game developed and published by TaleWorlds Entertainment. It is a prequel to Mount & Blade: Warband, a stand-alone expansion for the 2008 game Mount & Blade. Bannerlord takes place 210 years before its predecessor, with a setting inspired by the Migration Period.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a strategy/action role-playing game. The fundamental gameplay premise is the same as previous entries in the series: the player builds up a party of soldiers and performs quests on an overhead campaign map, with battles being played out on battlefields that allow the player to personally engage in combat alongside their troops.

Hello
it's so sad : (
Both of us are...
I ll be honest, make on the future another imperial chr that goes slightly similar to darius purpose but has an entire purpose and different ways to achieve them... maybe from the western empire? someone that fled away from the northern empire's land, as mecalovea was raided and got dissapointed of lucon... something like that maybe
What do you think about asian type of story. Like samurai and everything other that you fantasy can do
Khuzait: How does it feel to die for a random town and some villages, "Emperor"? Darius: *Euphoric.*
Darius: My body might die, but my name will live haunting traitors to their sleep. It will be a name of a man who fought for the good of his fellows. A man who is loyal, fearsome and strong. A man who lives by with moral and dignity. So you, one with corrupt soul ask me who i feel? It feels unbeleivably good, a feeling you will never achieve.
Darius set the bar so high for my next character that the next character should be worried about not measuring up lmao Next up, an Aserai Warrior series, coming soon!
what happened to the short man
yes
Good to see the Aserai getting some love
I wonder what caden thinks to the ending lol😂
Jamsheed the Javelin God
I love that the archers get shot down one by one, and you can hear all their screams around darius
When you realize that the story of Darius is actually just another one of those rebel stories that occur in everyones Bannerlord playthroughs which eventually get destroyed by lords.....
Quite true
this just makes me sad. like those rebels have entire backstories to them but we never know what it is
One minute, Darius is fighting side by side with his comrades, he then turns around to deal with the enemy flanking them. Then as he looks back, all his comrades are dead and just an army charging towards his position. How dark and lonely he must've felt. The feeling of being all alone, facing the world on his own.. no one to yell out for help... taking heavy breaths in the cold... hearing his own heart beat... just waiting for the final blow to end his journey...
Who said he was alone? He has his fallen comrades watch over him. They are watching, giving all their hope to him silently waiting for him to join them all while hoping for his victory.
Dude I felt the horror during that sec
He didn't feel fear. He felt rage.
The most historically accurate ending.
Spoiler: We all die in the end

@@mour8496 rip 😂
@@mour8496 Oof. Mehmet the Conqueror is a legend of our people but his legend is given even greater glory by the existence of the last Roman Empeor who died bravely fighting alongside his men. Truly an adversary to respect.
After the great siege of Amprela, where countless babarians through themselves at the few brave and honorable men gathered under the banner of the true emperor Darius the great, his body was strung up high on the walls, as a reminder to the people never to rebell against their masters ever again. Though most of the brave souls died that day, some survived to tell the tale of their once great leader. Many swore that the great emperor slaied hundreds of fiends that day, his sword and armor soaked in the blood of the unworthy. He died an honorable death, for his fellow men and for freedome. Some even claim that Darius embraced death with a smile, like an old friend was coming to take him that day. While the opressors did everything in there might to erase Darius from the face of history, his banner still lingers in the shadows, as a symbol of rebellion, bravery and power. Often you could find murderd guards in the streets of Amprela, wraped in the same banner that once stood for the glory of the great emperor. While he might rest now, Darius spark never left the land and as the time passed the man himself was still remembered, while his advisarys have long faded from history. Some people say, that every year, on the day of this glorius battle, you can hear the battlecries of the man fighting for freedome. If you listen close enough though, you can hear darius final words near the stables of Amprela "You may have won this battle, but the flame will keep burning, until all of us are free."
So gooooooooood 👏👏👏
When i saw the comment i was like hey a cool story when i clic on "see more" i saw that the text 3 word page was XD but i read it all and it is beautiful realy
A leader worth such glorious tale. Darius the Glorious
Nice dude
You good sir should be a writer
"While it might have seemed to be little more than a particularly well-drilled peasant revolt at the time, the brief Amprelan Republic under Darius "The Demon" sowed the seeds for the democratic institutions that thrive in modern Calradia today. Unlike other upstart lords, Darius had risen through the ranks as a soldier in a time of hardship and was reported, even by his former superiors turned hated foes, to have never partaken in looting whilst on campaign. His infamous speech upon splitting his lords army and defecting specifically cited the cowardice of lords in refusing to protect the people who supported them, but happily ravaging the same class flying under other banners whether they supported their masters wars or not. The depopulation of several noble houses and more blood-thirsty mercenary warbands before his fall led to his name being acclaimed amongst the common folk, even if only spoken in back-alleys and hushed whispers. A survivor of the siege of Amprela, who took the name 'Darius the Younger,' would ride this wave of popular support through starting a clandestine network of spies and agitators, culminating in a near-simultaneous revolt across all major factions and the dissolution of the majority of kingdoms across the Calradian heartland, eventually expanding to encompass the entire realm through a military drilled in the tradition of the first republican defense force. The rest, as they say, is history." -excerpt from a lecture by Professor Claudias Fadlan, University of Amprela, 1517 Calradic Calendar (In all seriousness man great story. Can't wait to see what you do whenever Pendor finally gets a Bannerlord version. A challenge to build the most giga-chad lawful-good knighthood order and use them and companions exclusively would be a great series to watch)
Wtf man this is from a legit historical script
@@alyasuramza that's what I was thinking, man went off XD
Ah yes, like all budding democracies it started with a murder spree.
What I love about good writing is how simple it is to understand and read. But when you get to writing it Boy oh boy.
Darius was a tragic character, in those turbulent times of war he had the misfortune of being attacked by the Khuzaits robbing him of the only home he had ever known and of many of his family members, he refused to break even after such an overwhelming loss, unlike other recruits he sought out Lucon to serve under him in the hopes that it brings him a semblance of justice. But it was then when he discovered the ugly truth of that world, the "Emperor" he and the northern third of the fractured empire served was nothing but a coward who let cities fall and villages burn, Darius felt powerless as he saw others go through the hell he went through, whatever illusions he tried to trick himself with to lull himself into inaction shattered and he was left with nothing to feel but anger. and on a fateful night he heard the murmurs of dissent from fellow warriors who quickly stifled them when they saw him approaching, what those soldiers did not know was that they were a welcome sight to Darius who finally found like-minded folks hoping to make things right. Day after day Darius stopped his fellow soldiers from mutinying giving Lucon one chance after the other, during that time news of the proud city of Amprela rebelling against those who occupied it reached the party, it was met by indifference by Lucon, it was then that Darius could wait no more, he spoke loudly at his fellow soldiers telling them it was time to choose, most of them followed him as they finally turned their swords against their commander who would have kept them sheathed till they rusted and fell off. it was after this battle that Darius came to meet his first companions those who would stay with him and fight for him and their cause to the bitter end. When the fallen Emperor was brought before him as those who stood by his side fled in shame leaving him behind, Darius's soldiers had different opinions, there were those that wanted to ransom him for money, and those who lost people and homes, in the captured cities, in the burning villages, they wanted justice, Darius was among them. and as the two sides argued they heard Darius shouting a war cry as he delivered swift death to Lucon. were it any other group of soldiers and any other leader they would have fallen to infighting right then and there, but those men had just been through too much and Darius was quite the charismatic fellow, he was able to convince them to follow him to Amprela in the hopes of creating a faction that takes care of all the "sons of the empire". and that was how the rebellion was born. by the time the sons of the empire had reached Amprela it was already reclaimed by General turned Emperor Garios of the western empire. the city was left with no proper garrison only a small militia not even a 100 strong, and while Darius and Garios were somewhat politically aligned there was no way the western empire would accept a king-slayer into their midst lest they break the very fragile truce between them and the north. so Darius made the risky decision of drawing the ire of the western empire towards him by liberating the good folks of Amprela and making the city a beacon for all like minded sons of the empire promising to protect imperial citizens, though sadly it was a promise the could not keep, as the lords and lady of the northern empire turned their swords against the villages around Amprela, killing their own innocent citizens in an effort to stop Darius... it only angered him further making him swear to slaughter every noble who turned his blade against the citizens of the empire. That oath earned him many monikers most well known of which was "the Demon of Amprela" for winning an unwinnable siege, but in his hunt for justice he was losing many of the companions who took up arms in his name and fought for his -now losing- cause. as the bodies of his friends piled up he began to question the meaning of it all, without those who would sing with us in victory and tend to our wounds in defeat what is the meaning of fighting, suddenly what once brought purpose to Darius became tiring, a burden he wanted to be rid of, and that was when the Khuzaits declared war on Amprela. It came full circle, as the very enemy that drove him out of his home and on his journey decided to be there to end it, the soldiers in the city were preparing to leave as they have done before, only to be shocked to hear Darius declare it his last stand. he forced no one to stay but most of them decided to do so anyway, and though they stood valiantly they were severely outnumbered, the last to fall was Darius himself, the Khuzait invaders chased and cornered him in a house, where Darius drew his last breaths as his enemies dug their blades into his chest. years have passed and now we are left with only an echo. and even that echo much like Darius himself is controversial, to some he was a hero who had a noble heart and only wanted to save the empire to others a butcher who ended entire noble bloodlines from the face of Calradia. the Khuzaits eventually had to face the Aserai which allowed Amprela to rise again in rebellion after their victory over the meager garrison that had hoped to hold it. Darius's banner was seen flying on the front gate, a tribute to their spiritual leader may he guide them to freedom forever more... Sorry for the very long comment but I just wanted to say I appreciate that series and as a fellow Arab, I am looking forward to seeing more. Now I want to write more about my bannerlord characters thank you for the inspiration!
Amazing summary to the entire story, thanks for taking the time to write this

Honestly it’s nice seeing a “failed” campaign. It’s refreshing to see
"You will be remembered as the 'Emperor' who sacrificed his life...for nothing" Darius: "...for Amprela"
For Amprela
That was actually really good, i didn't expect such a mature ending to a bannerlord story, loved it)
Darius's story shows the sad reality we live in. A sparkling bright person with vision for better future, for the good of the people... These people always get crushed by the so called "elite. Wrapped in greed and lust for power, doing everything they can to stop the prosperity and bright future of the simple people...
@Desert Man True. Not every man is capable to control that much power and stay sane. It corrupts even the best of men. But still his intentions were for the good of his people.
Bro you actually made me cry a bit...when the music started and the horde of Khuzait soldiers came flooded around Darius and he just knew this was it, but kept on fighting, fighting for the free people of the Holy Empire until his last breath! Then he stumbled his broken body into a corner in the shed, exhausted falling onto the floor. The Khuzait didn't bother doing more to the fallen Emperor and went on killing others. Darius laying on the floor dreaming about the villlage and his uncle and slowly drowning in his own blood which were filling his lungs. poetic masterpiece!
If only this were a persistent world. It would be amazing to see a world post-Darius' casual warcrimes.
RIP The Demon of Amprela. Should’ve chased that village wife after all
The demon of Umprela to many, but he was also it's Protector and Guardian, may he finally rest in his happy place
Darius's story began with a Khuzait blade, and it ended with a Khuzait blade. Fitting...
Better to burn out than fade away. Rest easy, Darius.
It's like a god-damned Greek tragedy. Amazing.
This was heart wrenching, realising half way through this ep that this was always his fate
Aw shit time for Darius to gloriously reverse the situation and save the day Amprela is the symbol of the revolution. Abandoning it would be foolish These odds may seem hopeless, but the Demon of Amprela didn't get his name for nothing 13:13 That's got to be the saddest conga line I've ever seen I like to think that among all the captured men, they had a "I'm Spartacus!" moment. Darius hasn't quite got the Kirk Douglas chin but it's close enough.
Captured men? You're overdosing on Copium my brother

When you live by the sword, you are cursed to die by the sword. That's what many say. I see it differently. Fighting to your last breath for something you truly believe is righteous is a blessing. Forever will your name be remembered, for either good or bad, and it's something that even kings cannot. Darius believed until his last breath that his actions would shape Calradia into a unified country. Eventually it will, either by inspiring another strong person to pick up where he left off, or to make all the factions unite under a common enemy.
That Shinsengumi tactic of running from the enemy and turning around to attack. Awesome end!
I have encountered weeb level unheard of before. I didn't mean that as a jab its just impressive.
"Remember men, as the horde comes, we charge! Neretzes, Arenicos, they are all watching us now! For the glory of Calradia!!!"
I saw a comment by @TheOneSeraph- "Khuzait: How does it feel to die for a random village, 'Emperor?' Darius:Euphoric" I guess a man like Darius will answer like this Darius: My body might die, but my name will live, haunting traitors to their sleep. It will be a name of a man who fought for the good of his fellows. A man who is loyal, fearsome and strong. A man who lives by his moral and dignity. So you, one with corrupt soul ask me how I feel? meh.
Oh my! What an ending! As the charge become more intense the music becomes clearer and hits harder than Darius sword! And even the battle itself looked so cinematographic with all that enemies coming from everywhere to the last one standing "Demon of Amprela". That was legit! That was good!)
TEARS! I weep for the brave soldier from humble beginnings! May he Rest In Peace
Simo is literaly the only youtuber that i even bother turning on notifications but i wasnt prepared for this one.... When i saw final stand and finale i knew Darius was due for a trip by the boatman of the underworld, but damn if it wasn't an adventure though and through....
I really liked how the music settled during the last minute of Gameplay, very kathartic. Especially since the showdown was against the khusait, who created this demon in the first place. Great series man!

Darius may have died, but he's sown the seeds of change. Calradia will never be the same, and everyone from the highest of highborn to the lowest serf will remember that greatness can rise from nothing, and that all lords should fear their people.
Damn, man, your silence around 10:49 is really chilling, Darius was certainly a controversial leader but a fearless one nevertheless. Thank you for delivering such awesome series, bro! Long live The Demon of Amprela!

Hell of a last stand. I was watching the gauge at the top for a while, thinking that maybe, if you could get a train of them coming up a ladder or tower like the first battle... It was wishful thinking from the beginning, but I had to hope anyways.
as if prophecized, when simo said "they shall rest in eternal heaven" his eyes fell upon the place of his final stand

im honestly happy it went down this way, he died with honor and courage, and lets be honest, there was no happy ending for him. he fought for what he beleived in, and calradia will forever be shaken by the demon of amprella. FOR THE EMPIRE!

I've been here since the start, I've seen Darius grow, in rank, in power, and in madness, all until these last moments of his. It's been a ride, and I'm glad to have been along for it. Thank you for this series, Simo.
WWOOOWWW!! Great series! Don’t comment very often but felt this one deserved it! Loved it and caught myself getting choked up on the ending! Thank you!
Many knew Darius as the "Demon of Amprela", the one who fought shoulder to shoulder with his soldiers. The one to lead his soldiers against overwhelming odds, and win. The Khuzaits thought otherwise. They laid siege to Amprela. Darius, knowing that he would continue losing his soldiers, his citizens if he abandoned the city, decided to make one last stand. The siege was brutal. The Khuzaits suffered losses, but the entire army of the Demon of Amprela was dead. Darius decided not to run, but to face the Khuzaits in an act of defiance. He was cornered and was mortally wounded. His brain ran through the memories of his village, his cause. It was all for nothing, or so the Khuzaits and the Northern Empire thought. In 1213, a noble of the Kingdom of Swadia found historical records that would lead to one of the biggest rebellions since the Khuzait civil war. Records that the Northern Empire failed to remove. Records about the Demon of Amprela. The news were spread all over Calradia. Darius was becoming popular with the locals in the mountains belonging to Swadia. They saw Darius as a hero who fought for the freedom and rights of Empire citizens. This led to the Rhodok rebellion. The Rhodoks, seeing that an imperialistic and monarchic system was surely to fail, decided to implement a new system. A system, where a king would be voted for by a council of nobles.
Fitting end to an amazing saga. And that final scene at the siege, man.
Fought a battle against 150 alone once, was a horse archer build and I just kept fleeing when I ran out of arrows. It worked shockingly well, but it was very time consuming
I am waiting so bad for the upcoming videos, keep up the good job and hope to see another video soon :D
This really has the vibes of Lu Bu. A talented soldier who could defeat anyone in combat yet was completely blinded by ambition, murdering his foster father to stand at his new lord side, then betraying his lord for the love of a woman. Ultimately he too ended up surrounded by enemies he couldn't beat, until his own men turned him over after their city was flooded. No matter how much glory he found on the field of battle, just his skill and generalship alone couldn't turn the tide of his decisions. Fantastic stuff! Loved this playthrough.
Dang what a beautiful ending to my favorite character

bro, that was epic!
Great video and great ending
This was amazing
Honestly, Simo, it seems you didn’t have any other ideas for this character outside of being a solider, and as soon as he stopped being one pretty early on, there was no clear goal or plan for him. Same thing with the raider - you had an interesting concept in your mind, but in the game it wasn’t something you can pursue for long. So for the next one, I hope there is going to be an end goal and a consistent journey to reach it, rather than jumping from one thing to another. Waiting for the new sandboi!
The Raider was always supposed to be a one off, and with Darius I didn't want to extend the series very long but I rolled with the events. I wouldn't say my ideas were exhausted, but given the mechanics of the game on 1.6.0 Darius was doomed the moment he betrayed the Emperor, which is again, in line with his character. All the decisions I made were in character, and didn't care much about the game itself. In any case, it was a nice ride, and the next series is gonna be a lot of fun to play I'm sure. Thanks for watching!
@@NotSimo looking forward to it!

Skyrim Vampire playthrough? That's pretty exciting! It's janky at times, but I love how TES lets you just be a Vampire and that's something you just manage on your own. And there's so many mods to change it up. Really curious to see that mod list!
It will be ultra modded, and it will not be focused on the main quest nor the dawnguard, it'll be more of a survival challenge
