UPDATE: The Sony a1 WILL close the shutter when in silent mode, but you have to change an extra setting I didn't know about - MENU → (Shooting) → [Shutter/Silent] → [Silent Mode Settings] → Target Function settings → Shutter When Pwr Off. Set that to "Not Target", obviously. Maybe that's the default and I screwed it up?
Tony Northrup complains about his favorite camera of all time, the Sony a1, and he compares it to the Canon R5, which is also great.

Me: Watches video and smiles, pours another cup of coffee, loads a roll of film into an RZ67 film back. Also me: Looks through waste level finder and smiles, yep I'll get 3 frames per day. Also me: Takes a sip of coffee. 🙂
Wow, so intuitive! 😂
Sony should have never added it, its a bad idea since the shutter is more likely to get damaged then the sensor. Both canon and sony tech support people admit this in private and if asked advice against using it. I keep it off and that means at times i need to clean the sensor but unlike Tony who seems to get dust in his sensor every 5min i get it once a month or so and i change lenses a lot.
I was considering the A1, but I am already unhappy with the software of my aSiii. I like the results in 4K even so the video tracking doesn’t work depending on the selected codec, but why is Sony not able to develop software? I can’t upgrade the firmware from my current MAC OS, I had to find an old laptop to do that. The smartphone sync is just rubbish, I am an experienced computer research person, but this interface to the smartphone app is just unusable. Who the hell is writing the software?
Gulp ! 😳 Menu > what ? ?
Number 6 of what i hate: the sound of this video
after the video, it's like 10th, but yeah dude, its slipping from clipping and not, over and over goddamn annoying, especially when I was using a super revealing Headphone, a Beyer T1. I know with the OP and ED background song its a troll piece, but man its just not enjoyable to watch.
What's up with the echo echo echo?
My EOS R does this same sort of intermittent "slap back delay" thing and it drives me crazy. I never experienced it (yet) with my R6, but until I just heard it in Tony's video I thought I was just sort of insane-- I haven't found a clear cut "problem/solution" on the issue before and couldn't figure out where in my work flow it was (only sometimes) coming from (audio was written to card with the issue). Tony, if you happen to see this comment, I'd love an explanation :)
They have been doing videos for YEARS and I can't believe they can't get proper audio.
Tony - *nitpicks about the Sony A1* Sony - *sends agents to destroy Tony's audio*
hahahahaha
The sound is delayed. The bird was squawking at about 2:50 but Tony was ripping on bird eye focus around 1:15.
I thought it was just my system causing the lag. LOL! WTF, Tony? Did you QA your "5-Things..." before posting? :P
I must have a fault, the sound is perfectly in synch.
Tony's negative review for the Sony camera equals a lot of sales for Sony I hope you are smart to understand why
sound is entirely strange, music doesn't help either...

Good info Tony, some issue with the audio not a complaint just letting you know.
Thank god, I thought I was going mental!
@@Whatsgoodmydude2222 that has nothing to do with the audio... he is using noise reduction to mask out the background noise and this is the result. Weird tin-y audio
@@Whatsgoodmydude2222 The issue was most likely the editing program trying to fix the audio, it has nothing to do with the camera. He most likely used a noise reduction in post and this is the result we got.
I should have come to comment section before turning my headphones off-on several times.
Could be wind noise. May have done it on purpose because he wasn’t allowed to spend all the money on a new camera. 🙃
Is that a Sony cordless mic you’re using? If so, add it to the list
13:17 sony listen to feedback, and so do we now on this messed-up audio track
Must be a very, very good camera if Tony had to grasp at this many straws to find 5 things. Back in the day, these "5 things" videos used to be much more substantial.
especially when he gives all the bad things and say at end of video he going to speed 6500 on it.
Exactly. Those 5 points were incredibly minor and the third point is not even a problem with the camera, it's purely user error or user lack of knowledge.
Exactly! It's an absolutely incredible mirrorless camera. A1, aptly named. These "5 things" aren't a deal breaker.
5 things I HATE about some Northrup videos: The audio issues, audio issues, audio issues, audio issues and audio issues.
Thank you, thought it was my headphones that had gone bad :O
I do not understand what you mean? For me, the audio is very good.
@@ScaramouchedaVinci you don't hear that sporadic echoing every couple of minutes? Actually, even more often the last five minutes.
He goes back & forth with crazy noise reduction, it’s terrible. The “normal” audio sounded totally fine though, not sure why he felt NR was even needed
You mean auaudio ississues?
You can set a button to change monitor brightness. Try the sunny weather mode, works great
I have the same list of mine: 1) price 2) price 3) price 4) price 5) price
I suppose you have the same list for the Canon flagship the 1DX3, which costs more than the Sony A1 (only $1 but it is still more).
@@michaelhains2291 How did you know? :D
I was planning on going mirrorless, get one great camera, but the cost of all the additional hardware, cards, lenses has made me think again.
@@Truthinshredding1 first of all you thought you were getting a free carrd? You don't have to buy the lenses . buy a adapter and use what you have. Hardware? For what
6) GM price. 😁
It' an interesting video, but the audio made me wanna cry.
Hi Tony! What mic are you using? Sounds great so far. Appreciate your content. Looks like that flip screen is useless.
I kind of feel like this serves as a time stamp of watching Tony slowly slip into insanity. In the video I’m already starting to hear voices, I’m guessing, he hears on a regularly basis. DONT LISTEN TO THE VOICES TONY!! 😂
7:24
Concerning pixel shift, I wonder if mounting the tripod on a sandbox would keep the camera stable. Sandboxes were used for homebrew laser holography for that purpose.
Problem is, it may not work a lot better than a simple burst followed by align-stack in photoshop.
Dude the audio voice overlap is like Missy Elliot telling me "I put my thang down, flip it and reverse it Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gnaht ym tup i" Holy Cheese Balls!! lol
Audio in their last vid was off too. = wasn’t synced to them.
i am soooo happy it wasn't just me. Do you know how much time i spent troubleshooting the audio on my PC? Jeez!!!!
😅
Hi Tony, I see you have the 50/1.2 lens on the camera. Which system is fastest A1 + GM50/1.2 or R5 + RF50/1.2? You have often explained the need for two card slots in cameras when doing pro work. How long can A1 and R5 shoot to both memory cards?
I wish Sony brought back the articulating screen of the a77 & a99 SLT cameras. Those were clutch!
I'm actually looking at buying or buying a used one. actually still hold up
This is the A1's FIRST version. So they may improve it in the next generation. Every camera will be different and some compromises will result in a balance that is favorable for some and unfavorable for others. Thank you for pointing those things out that may get overlooked and may be important to some. And yeah, we've all noticed the problem with the price. Hope they fix it soon.
When is the next gen tho?
@@Tawabzy 3-4 more years?
If they ever get a second gen. If firmware update speed and fidelity is anything to go by, this product is already dead
Are my ears Tripping? The sound is mental!
And that music! Surrealistic!
The sound is MENTALmental! I do wonder what is causing that audio doubling effect, as well as the slide show audio de-sync moments in a previous video..
So if you are switching from another system and didnt have lenses for either, what do you go with as a hybrid shooter now, the Alpha 1 or the Canon R5
Is that youtube butchering your audio, or did you have problems in recording and production that caused all that glitching?
Tony - All the hate you said about A1 sounded like a Girl friend tells about her boy friend and at the end the hate speech converts to a love note :)
Let's talk more,,,,+,,,,1,,,,,,4,,,,,,7,,,,,,0,,,,,2,,,,,,3,,,,,1,,,,,8,,,,,,0,,,,,,8,,,,,, 0...✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
Sensor readout speed of A1 is 10 times faster than R5, so that's not counted as "little bit faster" as how you say .
1/250 vs 1/50, so 5x faster. Still I get your point.
Well, the focussing of the Canon camera you used wasn't that good.. And the focus breathing while showing the Sony memory card was quite a lot. Which lens was it?
haven't you said that the 1080p is enough? why 4k, I think all the audio problems are related to this, from the editing process, not the actual mice or the camera
Interesting video, is the "echo sound" effect intentional for emphasizing maybe some concepts as per example at 5'32"?
Okay those 5 points are all very minor except the last one, so this confirms this is a great camera. #1 : UI, ok that's a personal preference, at least this is the most customizable camera ever #2 : shutter closing, user error: Silent Mode is NOT electronic shutter mode, it means "everything is silent", and that's why it's not closing the shutter because that would produce some sound. Just don't use the silent mode and use the electronic shutter, problem solved. #3 : not always 30fps, well of course, there is another requirement being: "you need to know what you're doing", and obviously if the shutter speed is too low, then the max fps will be lower, it's quite obvious. #4 : pixel shift useless, so don't use it, problem solved #5 : awful screen, that's the only valid complaint actually, yes the screen is not great but at least it has the best EVF ever, so you just need to start using the EVF more
I couldn't have put it better myself. I've unsubcribed a while ago as all they seem to do is slate Sony. It's ok for Canon to bring out a flagship camera, and bring out incremental firmware upgrades to fix the heating issue, but they don't go on about that. I almost ordered the R5, but wasn't going to pay for a camera they have crippled (30 min rec), and overheating issues.
You can tell who doesn’t like to hear truthful negatives!
Are you a Sony rep? Do they pay you to defend them? So childish!! All the negatives he mentions are valid. The "perfect camera" costs only $6500. Spare us!!
Hello brother. I need help. So basically I was changing lenses and a little bit of spit got on my shutter that was covering the sensor on my A7IV, It evaporated but left a dark little smudge i can still see on the shutter. Images still come out fine. Is there a way to safely, properfly clean the shutter? Thank you .
I guess several of those issues were part of the initial release software, because I do not see half of the things you mentioned. Also, there is a simple setting in Silent Mode settings to address one of them (the shutter).
You're the first KZheadr I've seen to ask for what I've always wanted: cameras that let you choose a flippy vs tilt screen version! It should be as simple as black vs. silver. I'm a tilt screen guy, but I get all the flippy screen guys, and it's practically a dealbreaker for both of us, so why should we have to parse every new great camera as buyable/not-buyable due to that? Give us both! Thank you.
a year later and we have the a7RV!!
@@nomadikmind3979 does a7rv stand against a1?
@@naeembacha4534 depends on what you want it to do. Theyre built for different purposes
Even though I'm a Sony shooter I think you need to do a video explaining why you are purchasing an a1 because every video I've seen from you seems to indicate that the canon is better across the board. Better AF, FPS, user interface. All the a1 seems to have going for it is an electronic shutter. Are you just too deep into the sony system?
Exactly what I was thinking Zach.👍
How are you liking that 50mm f/1.2 you have on it? I am tempted to sell my Sony Zeiss ZA 50mm f/1.4 to upgrade to it. Just waiting to see a good comparison.
From what I have seen elsewhere, that lens really looks like a dream for the Sony system. I was tremendously impressed by the general lack of LOCA exhibited in every review I have seen so far.
What are you doing differently with your production process? The audio hasn’t been ok in the past few videos.
I totally agree that the A1 should have a built in GPS. The phone app is a pain to use for this.
I don't have an a1, but I do have a very simple (and totally obvious, IMO) request for Sony's user interface designers: Can they please make the Playback key serve as a Back function when navigating the menu system? I know the Menu key already does that, but it's annoying to always have to go to your left hand (or cross your right hand over to the left side of the camera) for such a commonly-used operation. And make this improvement available on existing cameras via firmware update, please.
Every time when you have to change the settings you have to go to the menu as there is no short cut buttons like those on Nikon camera. If you get used to Nikon camera it is hard to use Sony a 1 but what I hate to use Nikkon Z9 is just that it is not much heavier to carry around especially when you have to hike in mountain for landscape photography. If Nikon Z9 could be as light as that of Sony a1, there should be more buyers who were Nikkon users before but wished to upgrade there gears. Sony A 1 is not good in landscape photography as far as images quality is concerned in comparison with Nikon camera D850 or Z 7 II.
Does this A1 model also loose the shoot settings when you swap or have a battery die??
"My house moves too much" 🤣🤣🤣
These days house foundations made out of jelly 🤣
How can Olympus do handheld pixelshift?
Audio really bad, re-upload?
Right on, buddy! You mentioned a few key areas such as using the CFExpress Type A card instead of the Type B card!!!! Also the high price tag for things most of us don't need. The rest of the items are kind of nitpicking to me. Also you forgot to mention the poor high ISO noise performance. It's not quite on par with the R5, let along the rest of the flagship DSLR bodies.
Tony, what is causing the sound glitches? Every minute or two your voice doubles. Mostly it is slight, other times more noticeable. A7S3 has audio problems?
I love your books. You got me started on Photography. I think you should watch Mark Galer’s setup guide and reconsider.
I like the look of the A1, but will stick to A7Riv and A9ii and wait for the A1ii I think that will justify the expense and probably deliver enough of a change to warrant the upgrade.
In like 4 years, sure. The A1 will be the mainline camera for a long time.
Tony, I'm on the fence about Nikon Z711 or Canon R5. (I have a slew of Nikon gear). Do you think Nikon will continue to improve the Z7 focusing going forward, or has it reached a development plateau on that model. Thanks
Matt Granger recently released a video on a firmware update for the Z7II that was supposed to substsntially improve the autofocus capability of the body. As for the original Z7, I would say that system has plateaued, but only the manufacturer can truly decide that.
That really is the million dollar question, isn’t it? I wonder if Nikon will have the R&D budget to catch up and keep up. I hope so.
@@tylerdoestech yes. I watched that video. I want to know if they can keep improving to catch up to Canon & Sony on the z711 camera. Or is the latest update all there is.
Tony, I’m fixing to buy the A1, do you (or anyone) know if recent FW changed any of these “issues”?
Sad thing is that Tony is right 😰 I remember his similar video about Sony A7Riv which I bought and sold later and Tony’s reasons were correct. Now, I ordered this A1 and hope to be happy with it 🙈
Watch the end of the video. None of the issues are dealbreakers for him.
Issue #1 is subjective, issues #2 and #3 are user errors, simply Tony not understanding what the settings do. He's confusing silent mode with electronic shutter. So the only real issues are pixel shift not being very useful (then don't use it) and the LCD screen not being high res.
It’s the user 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Received the a1 a month ago and so far have been astounded by what it can do. Couple it with some good glass (preferably those with lineair motors), like the 135mm GM or 100-400mm GM. Then watch one of Mark Galar’s settings video’s to get the most out of these. The 100-400mm can also be used for (handheld) macro!
It's pricey but every point is taken to the extreme. The e shutter isn't a little faster than the r5, the readout is over 4x as fast. The keeper rate for moving subjects is much higher than the r5 as the af system is the best that exists. It has almost as much DR as the a7R IV which means it's great for landscape, and the snr is really good too meaning your can do indoor work. This is just ckickbait crap , he essentially admits that at the end saying oh yeah, I'll buy one.
Let's talk more,,,,+,,,,1,,,,,,4,,,,,,7,,,,,,0,,,,,2,,,,,,3,,,,,1,,,,,8,,,,,,0,,,,,,8,,,,,, 0...✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
I had the a9 and a7r4. The files in the a9 were too small and the autofocus in the a7R4 was too slow. The a1 was an improvement for landscape and wildlife. I was an early adopter of the Sony a7. I've been with them since before they had lots of great lenses.
What about the a9 ii mirrorless how does that compare and if you have is it worth the upgrade money to the a 1
Good question
what’s going on with your mic?
I just HATE 1 thing... I don´t have it :(
Shouldn't you turn off stabilization when on a tripod? Would that solve the pixel-shift problem?
Yup, greatest camera I have ever owned. I had a Canon 5DSR and a Phase One 645 and various Blackmagic and Panasonic GH series. I say had because we shoot on A1’s now, and enjoy shooting and post SOOOO much more.
Tony's sulking as he's no longer invited to the party, Sony stopped sending him gear to review.
I would love Geo Tagging. However, GPS in camera has issues. It has to be always on so drains the battery. If not always on has to find satellites every time you power on the camera. A better solution would be to create a Garmin Connect IQ App and have the ability for the camera to connect to a Garmin device. More accurate, more reliable, and lower power.
Disappointed that xqd/cfexpress type b aren't in more cameras. I have them for my nikon d4 and was hoping to use them which ever camera I upgraded to. But no mirrorless has a dual slot with the same cards
I am confused, because I only shoot in silent mode and my shutter covers the sensor whenever I turn the camera off, and you're saying it won't?
Let's talk more,,,,+,,,,1,,,,,,4,,,,,,7,,,,,,0,,,,,2,,,,,,3,,,,,1,,,,,8,,,,,,0,,,,,,8,,,,,, 0...✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
I think I see what is going on. You can use the electronic shutter without having silent mode on. Not sure what the difference is, because the electronic shutter is silent. Why the redundancy except to prevent the shutter from closing when you turn it off? Does Anyone know? Oh, and don't call the phone number above. It is not Tony & Chelsea.🤣
Thank you for this video, there are indeed many advanced features in the A1, and many who loved them. I appreciate your viewpoint, specially because you are representing me - the consumer, and while I don’t need 30fps, or 8K video, I need a better screen, better ergonomics, better user interface, better build and a better price. So I won’t be switching from Nikon to Sony, but I will buy an R5. Thank you for the impartiality.
Being a nitpicking A-Hole to move the camera industry forward. I can respect that. Thanks Tony.

@@andreesengillies4427 My light-hearted comment went right over your head, didn't it? I love that Tony's is hypercritical. He knows that he can get 30 frames per second with other lenses but he also knows that gushing over a camera sets the bar low.
Priceless! Hope they continue to listen to customers and improve.
They won’t. I said very similar things to Sony about the A9. I even work for Sony ( did the vfx for Jumanji) and they loaned me two A9 cameras and a bunch of lenses. Great image but the menu design seemed like they worked hard to make it that bad.
I really like videos showed in their original raw unedited format. Tony you had stated in your earlier videos. That some of your videos a produced with cameras with smaller sensors. Was this video produced with a camera. With a small sensor! If not what camera was used?
He indicated in the video that this was filmed on an a7S III.
@@timothylinn Thank you.
Well done Tony, love your camera reviews, Nobody does them better than you and Chelsea. And I value content over audio quality.
I don't know a single photographer who shoots Sony with the iPhone.
Here I am.
I mean the photographers I know in person. iPhone crowd shoots either with a Fujifilm XPro3 or film cameras
I have an iPhone and two Sony’s. I’m not a die hard Apple fan though. Also Apple fanboys are canon fanboys. Not Fuji fanboys 😂
I do lol
Enjoyed the video and the birds on the feeder behind you. I bought the Canon R6 on your recommendation and the rf 800mm I am getting the best wildlife photos I have ever taken
Link to your awesome strap?!
Tony, I love how you and Chelsea dissect camera equipment, test and verify specs. I am sure I have saved thousands watching your videos, but at the end of each camera video, I love my Canon R5 more and more. Lol
I think the Canon R5 will be looked at as how we now look at the OG 5D. The 5D was the camera that moved pro masses from film to digital, and the R5 is being the camera that is moving pro masses from DSLR to mirrorless.
@@Biker_Gremling I agree, It is that leap forward camera. I detoured a bit, 90D to EOS R to EOS R5. I am set for a long time!
Second straight video with bad sound. This time, sporadic echo. WTH, Tony? Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention the lens release button being between the lens and grip. Chris Nichols disconnected the lens at least once by accident, just like you did.
Must be the Sony hotshoe audio mic.
@@Biker_Gremling yeah, someone else made that comment. I have no idea.

Anybody know exactly what’s causing the messed up audio? I get the exact same problem (intermittently) with both my EOS R and R6 (using a rode wireless go). I can’t figure out what’s causing it and it’s driving me crazy because it only happens like 4% of the time so after it doesn’t happen for a while I write it off as a fluke and then BAM it happens again...
Tony tell me how you really feel! 😂🤣😁
Feeling better about my Nikon D6

Maybe the cages and slavery? about time you stopped taking part of the Unseen Holocaust of the meat industry. not to mention the medical and the Cosmetics ones too. stop being a hypocrite
Nothing is perfect. It is just very good. I thought of getting a Fujifilm GFX100s instead of a Sony A1, but the Fuji lens prices are eye-wateringly high and I think that 50 mp is enough for a landscape camera. I had planned to get the Fuji with a couple of lenses and keep my A9, but moving between systems will always be expensive. I believe, despite its flaws, the A1 will be a better all-rounder and paradoxically cheaper.
Hi Tony, I just watched Mark Galer's latest video on the A1 and he took a couple of shots at you without naming you. I am not planning to buy this camera unless and until it's on the used market, if at all. It's overkill for what I do. I respect your reviews, but I also respect Galer's reviews, even though he's a Sony ambassador. You both know what you're talking about. I would love to see you and Galer talking through these issues on a program. I doubt you'd come to an agreement, but it would be good to see you discussing the camera at length. I think we would all learn from it.
Wow 😂 being a Nikon user I’m loving this 😂
Then you realize that Nikon has nothing yet to complete against anything 😭
Loving my Z6ii easy file size beautiful Nikon colours easy to use interface Inwill just have to find a way to cope with 14fps
@@michaelnikonfuji3539 color science is a moot point these days, especially where video is 10 bit or higher, and people shoot RAW for photos. Canon and new Sony cameras have great colors.
I'm with you, Tony. It does seem like a lot of money for what it is. I think Sony rationalizes the a1 price being higher than the R5 because it's like an a7riv, an a9ii, and an a7siii all in one, where the R5 lacks the video capabilities of the a7siii. It's reliable modes are similar to the eos R. In that respect, I could see a $5500 price for the a1, but still can't justify the $6500.
Tony, you are too emotional in this video, seems like Sony has stop sending you the gears for review!
Hahahaha
Pentax pixel shift is better. In body processing right after you shoot so you end up with a completed single file. It also only takes 4 shots, which sounds worse, but the lower number of shots decreases the chance of movement and ruining the process. It's a real world usable feature on the K1.
Was that audio from the A1 also? Make that 6 things to hate about it if the camera was involved in the audio. Like listening to Tony from above then under water.
I love the camera. It exceeds the hype. I have had no issues so far. I have done pixel shift and it worked great.
Is in-body image stabilization enabled when you do the pixel shift? Wondering if in-body image stabilization is enabled when people complain that pixel shift doesn't work.
The WORST camera body designs are all the Sony Mirrorless; in fact the body design is ATROCIOUS at best, it has hard edges and is very linear
I remember your previous video on the Alpha 1 there was an issue with the lens release button. I personally don't want a $ 12000 600 hitting the ground
That's why pros will buy a real camera made by Canikon, not this paper tiger.
I have the a9 and a7riv and use both with a variety of lenses including the 400mm f2.8 and have never had an issue with the lens release button. Not sure what these people are doing but if there is an issue specific to the a1 button Sony will no doubt address it. I think you need to wait for Mark Smith’s videos to see a wildlife pro’s view of the camera. Given all of this I always wait 6 months on new cameras and lenses to ensure any early glitches are ironed out. We have seen issues with early release Canon and Nikon cameras as well. I photograph with many people (in normal times) with all three brands and think this You tube manufactured brand wars are so crazy as all three brands used properly can get great images.

It's true never buy a car or a camera when it first comes out.
@@zoomboy57 Totally agree. I shoot with someone who uses the canon 1DX mk iii and he gets fantastic results. Have a great time 👍
the problem i have with the canon r5 is the overheating this is THE absolute dealbreaker. I work as a freelancer and sometimes i have to do photos and sometimes videos and sometimes i need a b cam that simply runs through a recording of a interview ... and then there is the messed up canon mounts while you can invest in emount lenses and basically can use it with th smallest mirrorless sony cameras and the fx9 and fx6 with canon, some cameras still ahve the ef mount some the new mount this is just messed up. the r5c will be maybe more usable but they need to update their whole line of cameras asap imo ...

Did he really say he doesn't know anyone who doesn't use an iPhone? Like I know in the US apple is the most popular phone, but there are still A LOT of Android users here. And most of the world uses Android. So I would say that feature DOES exist
Does the Sony A9ii not compete with the R5? 20 shots, versatile, fast. I realise it has less MP, but it's very capable and a similar price?
I’ve preordered 2, but I totally agree with you!
Can’t believe you actually posted this
My list 1. It will not switch to APSC mode while recoding video. 2. It does not have clear image zoom like my A7iii and A7siii. 3. The low resolution monitor is unforgivable. Btw, I own this camera and I use it daily for video. I don’t take many photos with it.
Please ask Sony to enable autofocus during interval shooting! This would be very helpful for self portraits and family pictures.
What did you use to film this video
Not gonna lie I feel your videos are going down hill.... started with Chelsea's review of the different zoom lenses when she banged them around the trunk and then shot 1 handed with huge lenses.... that seems lazy. Now this where you complain about things that the real pros have no issues with
"....that works like GAARRRBAGE." HAHAHAHAAA. I laughed SO loud at this.
None of these really seem to be problems to me, at least not ones I've experienced but I use a different model. I think a lot of these come down to the difference between using a camera for a bit and owning the camera and mastering it as well as different people having different needs and preferences. As for the specs that can't be achieved unless certain settings are on, every manufacturer seems to have that. I think it might grow on you a bit if you owned it. Maybe it would be your favorite and maybe not but I can't believe you would hate it. So far professional photographers seem to like it, even in bright sunlight. I think this is the first bad review I've seen on it, we all have different needs and preferences though. The only con for me is the incredibly high price, you spend several thousand dollars BEFORE you even buy lenses or accessories. This makes it inaccessible to many photographers.
The Sony A99V rear screen flipped out and forward and however you wanted....what happened to the technology? The A99V also had GPS
Next video is going to be about apologizing for the bad audio of this video😂,don’t look the comments Tony.
i feel like ALL camera companies need to drastically improve their in-camera processing. Time-lapses, pixel-shifts, focus bracketing, panoramics etc They should be lightyears ahead of smartphones, not behind.
We shouldn't even need to use clunky desktop software to get all of what you listed. It's utterly ridiculous that my phone can do a better job for "getting the shot" than a professional level camera.
I agree with all your points, But the price is the main issue I hate about the camera. after four years Sony finally updated the A9 with a new sensor and view finder. so the price should be like an updated A9ll. so maybe $4900. not $6500. and I think even at $4900 it should have a top of the line back touch screen that you can see in bright light. and that pulls out in portrait orientation. the A1 is not a huge and heavy dual grip camera. and it shouldn't be priced like one. I might've considered buying it at $4500 dollars. but at $6500 I will be sticking with my A7r lll. and actually the price of the A1 has made me think allot about switching brands again. but I hate how huge and heavy the new Canon 85 f1.2 L is. and Nikon is just not up to par with the focusing. and I also hate how huge and heavy the Nikon 50 f1.2 is. so at least Sony has the way smaller and lighter 50 f1.2 GM and the really small and light 55 f1.8. and the 630g Sigma 85 f1.4 art. I guess all three companies have things I like and things I don't like. but the price of the A1 is way to high, but I know people try to justify it by talking about the price of flagship cameras. but like I said. its just an updated A9.
Can you shoot 30fps to a ethernet connected SSD drive?
