12 Times Snakes Messed With The Wrong Opponent
Snakes are often regarded as being around the very top of the food chain, but sometimes even these slithery reptiles bite off more than they can chew. Certain animals don’t like abiding by the laws of nature. From a rooster stomping the life out of a cobra to a cat defying all odds to protect her kittens, and a freshly-hatched Iguana outlasting swarms of snakes-- here are 12 times snakes messed with the wrong opponent.

Brave Rooster defends Flock
You'd think that a snake could’ve easily gotten the best of a rooster. But roosters are extremely territorial of their homes. A rooster will go so far as to sacrifice its own life to protect its flock. So going guns blazing inside this rooster's home turf wasn’t such a good idea for this cobra. A rooster in India showed some real pluck when it obliterated a cobra that was trying to attack its flock. The snake tried desperately to catch a breath but the rooster never gave it a chance, constantly pecking at it with no remorse. After carrying the snake away from the rest of the chickens, the rooster ended up swallowing it whole.
Turtle Bites off Snake’s head
Snapping turtles are as ferocious as they come. Their bite packs a punch of about 209 Newton, if you’re not good at science just take our word when we tell you that you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this unless you’re into having your limbs chopped off. This turtle, in particular, was having none of the snake’s shenanigans when it snapped the snake’s head off clean. You could argue that the snake brought it upon itself when it crawled into the turtle’s mouth.

I grew up in a shack in the Texas rural outback -- no screen doors, cardboard for windows, holes in the floor and walls -- and, of course, a few snakes in the house. I also have walked through grassy trails and weeds, and poked hands in berry briars and muscadines vines. If I had a fright, I soon forgot with the next heartbeat. Life went on, and I did also. BUT now, being years and miles away from that time and place, I shiver at the mere thought of a snake.

5:48 what made the snake think putting part of itself in the mouth of a gator would be a good idea 😂😂😂
I am happy that the baby bunnies lived.
If you look close you can see an appendage inside of the snapping turtles' mouth that looks like a worm. They use this to lure fish into their mouths, apparently it works on snakes too.
Alligator snappers have the lure tongue.Up here,in Ohio, our common snappers dont have that, but ,tho smaller than the alligator snapper, are much more aggressive than the alligator snapper. And,alligator snappers cant reach over their backs to grab you.Our snappers can reach over their backs, all the way to their tail.A big surprise for any southerner trying to catch ours like they do their gator snapper.

I've read that only if a mongoose screws up does it ever lose vs. a snake - too fast, too smart, and actually the "if they don't screw up" part is pretty true with any very motivated opponent, as shown here! Love the mothers and others willing to die to protect theirs!
They are immune to all venom, but a constrictor, like boas, pythons can kill them.
Agreed. Karmic retribution for he who causes those Martyred mothers to die.
@@Memow-pk1ng the mongoose is the lethal enemy , the worst enemy to the snake. Super fast as well as protected from a snakes venom make it the perfect snake killing machine. This video showed how a feral cat thankfully was able to defend her kittens and herself against a python. It was clearly a desperation attempt to survive but it worked. The python was getting tired of the biting and scratch and left. Since Bobcats are the next size up and are more in the wild it would have been nice to see this same scenario involving a Bobcat instead of a Feral Cat so the results would have been worse for the snake!!!
House Cats have seen every snake in the book, and they use many tricks on snakes, a timber back rattler would have been a better fight on the serpent side of things, most of the time House Cats and Snakes avoid each other, because a House Cat is something you really don't want to piss off, they seem to take pissed off to a new level, just witness male Tom's going at it over who's yard you walked into, as it's like till death do us apart until Uncle was spoken, when they lock on they don't give a crap about anything going on in the world at the moment, they seem to store and hide energy that is waiting to be unleased if called a pond in a pissed off state of mind.
You got that right. The bobcat's teeth and claws are twice the size of the house cat, and they are much stronger as well. A bobcat can take down much larger animals like a deer, for example. So yeah, that snake would have been messed up real fast by a bobcat. He would have left much sooner and never came back.
@@kravenfoxbodies2479 We have two female cats. The one in my picture is Cali. We also have Courtney. She is a bigger girl, about 11 pounds and all white. Snakes are so terrifying yet one went straight into a snapping turtles mouth -~-
That bunny on xgame mode
the narrator definitely said that the python tried to bite the snake instead of the alligator
I really can't believe that the iguana was just an hatchling and had so much intelligence to escape those snakes. How did it learn how to be still? how did it know to go above the rocks? How did it know how to slip though the coiling of the snakes? How did it know that the snakes couldn't see but direct movements? If it's true, all I can say is wow...
A common theory is that certain memories of the parents are transfered to their newborn. It could also just be good old instinct.

I have seen few times when mother cats humiliate snakes in battle, including king cobras. In a fact cats are so much dangerous with rapid reactions as the mongoose are and even more so, just dont have immunity against venom, but their instinct is to strike with paws the snake head, disorder them then bite the neck and break it. The python should be even happy it survive that battle, it was such an embarrassment, but least of all - left the cave alive haha.

Wow... My best friend, Made an excellent video. I really liked it. Beauty is extraordinary. Thank you very much for the video.
Some of those videos are badly misrepresented, the cobra wasn't after the chickens, as they were too big, the rooster was just that, being territorial. Also the snapping turtle just happened to have it's mouth open and the snake headed for cover (bad choice).
Snapping turtles use their tongue as a lure to get prey to come into their mouth. Usually, it's fish they catch.
@@billvojtech5686 thanks, yep I knew that but to imply that the snake is attacking the turtle is an enormous stretch.
The look on turtles face, eyes wide open "Like, oh, hello food directly into my mouth, Snap!"
Huh? I was on a different vid, they said the snake was trying to attack the snapping turtle, by trying to bite it's blind spots, but couldn't.
@@brittanyspencer8153 Don't believe everything you see on the internet. Snakes swallow their prey whole. No way that tiny snake was trying to eat that turtle.
