Zoos are regulated to by law so they have enough room etc. at least I know they are in the US, but I’m sure it’s pretty internationally as well

Tayari is just like her mom Guadiana who passed away. Gyasi was also a free spirit with her funny antics. Tayari inherited her mom’s uniqueness an Jabali is on his way already to be like mom

I love how Tayari readjusted Jabali like her pants were falling down. 😂 I love when gorillas play and open their mouths like that. They look so happy
This cracks me up😂 I have seen the two females chase him more than once. Then you have the other poor silverback at the other zoo where he just has one “wife” and she avoids him all the time.
Ya and the smallest enclosure he is food motivated that's y she avoids him if we're speaking about momo and ghenki ...
she has had a very hard life and she is twice his age too.

To me, they honestly seem very happy together and it is just playful loving exchange. Normal gorilla behavior. You can tell by the way D'jeeco lovingly and tenderly bites her in return. When she leaves, he follows.

Responding after 2 years, lol. Momotaro is the serious one, Genki has anxiety so basically afraid a lot. Recently with Kintaro turning 5…Genki is looking for affection from Momotaro again. When they do play around Kintaro chases his dad for going after his mom 😂

Boy I tell ya these two love birds playing.☺ D'Jeeco with the twerking (3:07) while playing though! 😭😭😂😂 Baby Jabali is not harmed during these pheromone saturated trisps rolling through the grass. He's learning gorilla way, "lil J this is how/why we play. It's fun, but moreover rolling and tussling creates strong muscles, good coordination, and learning how to balance and shift your body weight." This is most helpful while climbing especially trees. 😊

You made some great points! In the wild, this playful fighting is also training for those times when the silverback has to fight the gorillas' natural enemies - leopards and other silverbacks, to keep his troop safe. If this were real fighting, his canines would rip Tayari open. The fact that there is no blood whatsoever, speaks volumes.

I think maybe Tayari's fur is shorter than most, that could be why baby J has trouble holding on with his feet..🤔
I've always said that when Tayari is criticized. I 100% believe that is why Jabali just doesn't latch on well. Tayari is unusually petite for a female gorilla, and she's short-haired. Plus Tayari's mom Gyasi sometimes carried her the same way when she was a baby...hind leg or front arm.😄

From what I saw on another channel she only had one other baby around while she was old enough to observe how to mother. I get so sad at all the negative comments about her. Jabali is growing & healthy. She’s a bit rough around the edges but watching her & D’Jeeco play makes me smile. He obliviously doesn’t mind it one bit. ☺️

Due to Covid-19 epidemic, the Taipei Zoo was closed from 5/15-7/12. Visitor still did not have chance to see them yet.

I just asked the zoo about the baby. Can't wait to see new video. Iriki had a big healthy baby (was comparing size when Jabali was reaching to touch the baby's head in the birthing video). The baby has the same precious innocent face like mom Iriki.
