In a recent game between Sweden and Finland in the 2022 Swiss EHT tournament, Teemu Harikainen attempted what is just an absolutely FILTHY shootout attempt. Something I have never seen. Now Sweden won the game, but undoubtably, this MISSED shot is was the highlight. I cover this in a bit of a breakdown of what it is he just attempted.
Even when Finland lose, they win. What a crunchry.
I am mostly impressed by the power he gets in it. Skilled trick ofc, but not even that weak shot with ONE hand.
I wonder how many times he practiced that shot? WOW! I say it would count, only because in a penalty shot situation my favorite move was to draw the puck back, fake the shot, goalies down and easily go to one side or the other.
A lot of people will be attempting this now. You watch…
I think a variation of this could maybe count if he did it with just a bit more skating speed and without lifting the toe of the stick off the ice (going for five-hole maybe). It's not entirely clear that the puck goes backwards, and if the puck is held onto the stick by the centrifugal force only and never lifted off the ice, it won't violate the no-lacrosse-move rule either.
zegras will do it and they'll name it his move
What a shot! Would have been better if it hit the net.
I mean he carried it on his stick for like not even a second so they could debate he didn't skate with it and it was still touching the ice a little bit so they would spend a long time making a decision
Datsyuk hell spawn.
this takes such an insane amount of wrist strength, he needs to bury this though. the backwards motion in a shootout debate is silly and not just for this goal, anyone debating that on datsyuk style goals is just delusional.
Wouldn't have counted
Still a nice move
Don't be a buzz killer
It's actually a stupid move because it wouldn't have counted. If the dude hit the net with it then he would have been a buzz kill to 20 of his teammates who like you idoits, thought the goal counted, only to have it not, and then to be like "oh man that was cool but we still lost the game because the rulebook says that's a dumb shit move". I think the rule should be any move that the forward can do on a breakaway should count. If he can do that while the defender is tripping and slashing him, then it should count.
@@kirkjordan8718 even if it would not have counted it was still a nice move. He himself said that he didn't know would it have counted or not
the motion was forwards. puck moving back is allowed as long as motion happens to forward
