  • He fought the best volume striker (Dustin), the most dangerous kicker (Barboza), the fastest hand (MJ), the best counter punch arguably the best striker (Conor), the most violent fighter (Gaethje). 0 knock down, never bleed, barely bruised. Thats just insane.

    • I can't imagine as a father, going out to find a bear cub, take it from wherever or buy it from whomever, bring it home and chain it to a tree, then yell out Khabib come here. Little Khabib running over from the excitement of seeing a baby bear chained to a tree. Then his father says take it down. I want you to wrestle the bear and take him down. I would have ran to my Mom TBH. Because when I was a kid I was a pussy! Point is, fuckin Khabib runs at the little bear like he has to pay rent and wrestles the animal WTF!! It's obvious how much Khabib respects his parents, elders, and people in general. Khbib was put on this Earth to do one thing and we witnessed it and are truly lucky. • Honestly, Khabib has never been in real trouble throughout his career. He's just had moments were he lost exchanges. Which happens to everyone. But he's never been actually wobbled, and never almost been knocked out. Khabibs entire team said they weren't even worried about Dustin's guillotine bc they knew Khabib had never been submitted b4.

    @frosty2.010@frosty2.0102 жыл бұрын
    • Same thing with Valentina. Both of them are LIFELONG martial artists. For example, Valentina's last opponent had 8 years of combat experience. Valentina has 26.... that kind of gap covers pretty much every advantage possible (athleticism, speed, strength, and even cardio). Khabib was wrestling bears before he was 10. He was training combat sambo with a world champion for a father who had a knack for discipline from age 12. At that age, Dustin Poirier was still almost a decade away from becoming an MMA fighter. It's the difference between world class talent and world class talent with the experience of a coach.

      @KKSuited@KKSuited2 жыл бұрын
    • @@KKSuited This isn't necessarily the case. At least not always. For Valentina and Khabib this is true, their experience gives them a great advantage over their opponents. But there are some fighters who are so talented the experience advantage doesn't even become a factor. I remember watching season 21 of the ultimate fighter in which Usman was fighting Steve Carl. He dominated Carl from start to finish. And the most memorable line from that fight during the replay was when Glenn Robinson said "Kamaru had the edge in the standup. He had the edge in the wrestling. Steve Carl has 26 fights, and Kamaru has 6. The proof is in the pudding. Steve had nothing for him." Some fighters are so talented, it doesn't matter how much experience their opponent has. It becomes irrelevant.

  • IMHO, Khabib usually got in trouble with fast strikers and people who attacked his legs swiftly. However, they all gassed out quickly because to keep up that pace, you need insane stamina. And it’s just insanely hard to have it. Khabib was a well rounded fighter. He had the stamina from grappling, boxing on a high level, perhaps not the best but yet enough to hold you off until he can throw you to the ground. I used to train Thai and classical boxing, never really got the chance to get into grappling or MMA… but I sparred with some local MMA champs here in my country. They used our gyms to practice standup. And it’s one thing to watch mma fights and think to yourself “nah it’s nuances, luck…” but having tried fighting with well rounded fighters, even tho it’s a low level spar in a small gym, you get to appreciate the skill of these guys even more. And appreciate Khabib and his endurance. For his opponents to capitalize on those subtle moment when they strike him good, they needed so much more. And he was way beyond that, way more prepared. Truly a talent. They’re all beasts, but he was just that 1% above at all times.

He finds his opening and takes them all down. His neck is too strong to be guillotined. I wouldn't say he was really in any trouble. It's his game. The strikers build confidence when striking Khabib, then open themselves up to be taken down and mauled.

Before he got into the ufc with a record of 16-0, he has absolutely NO SIGNIFICANT WINS. He only fought cans outside the UFC, with records like 41-38, 8-4, or even 3-6. He padded his record with fast food workers,tony is Khabib's nightmare bro, he wants to engage in the ground game with Tony, since they get elbowed from the bottom, or submitted. Instead of trying to get up like all of Khabib's opponents, Tony would actually engage in Khabib's grappling. What would happen is very debatable, but it is Khabib who left it up for debate. He retired after pulling out of the Tony fight 3 TIMES. This should make it clear that Khabib doesn't want to risk his record for Tony. The only person you can compare Khabib's record to, is Israel Adesanya. Both have 2-3 title defenses, both undefeated, both demolished their opponents as they climbed up the rankings. I don't see why Khabib should be rated above Israel Adesanya. Only difference is Adesanya didn't pad his record with cans before joining the UFC.

  • Getting punched in the face and kicked on the leg is being in trouble? Doesn't that happen to every MMA fighter? The guillotine chokes and Johnson rocking Khabib for a while is the only ones I can count. The rest of the time, after he got hit with hard shots, he still kept coming.

    • @@IftiAlam1999 I’m mean take it as a sign of how good khabib is. There really wasn’t that many times when he was in trouble lmao. Honestly agree, the guillotine and Justin’s kicks were the only signs of true trouble. As well as some of the heavier punches but honestly khabib eats those any day of the week.

  • not a Khabib fan but Khabib vs Gaethje was probably the best fight I've ever seen to a lot of people it looked like Khabib completely Outclassed Justin, but I thought it was closer than people think. there's a reason Khabib had to take Justin out of there as fast as possible.
