  • What I love about this is that the kids suggest a simple solution that it seems like the adults have completely overlooked. I love their frank point-of-view because it puts into perspective that we have a lot to learn from ALL of the people in our lives. Not just our peers

    @neckofkwoods4261@neckofkwoods42612 жыл бұрын
    • What it kinda shows me too is that when adults try to solve things like that, usually what they really try to do is have their way. The gf was trying to get the bf to always go out on the weekends with her and the bf was always trying to stay home. To both of them it had to be all one persons way or all the other persons way. Whereas kids on the other hand (sure selfish kids exist, but in general...) are more likely to think about the team/group, so "well let's just split it" is way more obvious common sense to them. Then as they grow up, society/life kinda beats that out of them sadly.

    • @@VMYeahVN I think a lot of people would dismiss this as utter insanity but I really think kids need representation/bigger voices in politics. Sure many of the things they'd suggest may be impractical, but just as children teach parents about themselves every day (something many parents will attest to) so too can kids teach adults in general and remind them what it means to live beside each other whether it be neighboring homes or countries.

    • I think at this point with the divorce rate over 50% and near 90% of divorces initiated by the woman for no fault reasons - coupled with the fact child custody and assets are not affected by who wants to leave the marriage or is at "fault" for it ending, we all just need to admit that marriage as women want it today is a undesirable life and future for men to enter into. The reality is if women want to initiate divorce at such high rates and not have the law reflect fault in custody and assets splits - marriage law and the concept of marriage as we know it is made unsustainable by womens natural (?) desire to leave marriages at such greater rates than men - and their expectation to be provided for after this event (of their choosing).

    • @@poocrayon4588 Women might be more likely to be the ones to file for divorce, that doesn't mean they're the ones "at fault" tho. Women can get divorced when men cheat or abuse for example. Women do most of the housework and childcare even when they work as much as men, men are often not as supportive of women when they start to earn more than them. Men are not taught to deal with their emotions, so often a lot of emotional labor is put on women in relationships (not the men's fault per se, but it might contribute to feeling burned out in the marriage). Instead of looking at divorce rates as "women's natural desire to leave marriages", maybe at least consider why they might leave? That could be just as much the guy's fault as the woman's. Those stats you showed don't really say much on that
