Amazing craftsmanship. Not only are you a artist, I think you may have elven DNA.
Wow, what a build. This looks more accurate and is more powerful than the licensed Legolas bow that I bought many years ago. Back when the movies were coming out, in Italy there was a guy who was licensed to make functional replicas of this bow. I've still got it. It comes in around 35 lbs, and its made out of what looks like rattan or something similar to it. Came with two replica arrows too. A lesser known curiosity I think. But your bow is more powerful, more functional, and looks more like the movie one. Wish I could buy it haha
Thanks Very much. I saw pictures of that licensed bow when I was searching pictures of the original used in the movie. The kit was very beautiful. But I don't like very much. There so many details diferent from the movie and the fact that was made with ratan... Well... Ratan is not a good material to make an eficient bow. So, I was paying attention on that when decided to make this one. ☺️
@IndianaBows indeed, rattan isn't very good, except for that its very strong and resistant to breakage. Slow wood though, its a much worse shooter than the osage I made. I've never tried making a laminated bow, I might try doing something like you did here for my next one though.
This is amazing! I have been trying to figure out the best way to recreate Legolas's bow for years and this is the only tutorial I've seen that would make a worth while replica! Thanks for sharing!

You have some very interesting techniques!; the way you made essentially an extremely deflexed, recurve with an almost 90 degree angle in the handle section and a respectable draw weight is impressive.
Thats gorgeous!!, iv always wished i could have replicas from the movies. Especially legolas bow
It takes a lot for me to be impressed, but now I am!
Thank you very much! If you can share with your friends to impress they too, it helps the channel a lot and encourages us to make even cooler videos. =)
I have now seen two people do this, and yours was before the other, and a far better build in my opinion.
I'd like to know the other. 😲

Youre a bowyer/woodworker after my own heart, my friend; handling fiberglass without gloves😂. I usually dont have time to mess with gloves or masks
yo the Akatsuki legolas

I can make you some matching arrows! Great video
Thanks! It would be nice some arrows, but the shipping price to Brazil will certainly will not be low.
Heh the fiberglass taping method was brilliand. I've made a lothlorien Haldir bow a few years ago but I used resin and fiberglass tape in a few layers. Then tried to sglass the bow like you would add sinew ....but man how didn't I think of using tape ?

Obrigado!! 💚💚💚
Vc é muito talentoso
Muito obrigado amigo.
Mano, mais uma vez , PARABÉNS! Que trabalho maravilhoso... Agora a questão: Ficou bom de tiro? peso , velocidade...
Ficou ótimo de tiro. Tirando que ficou "meio" pesado. 60lb @28" - a velocidade ficou na faixa de 185 a 189fps com flechas de 10gpp.
I want that bow :D
This one is my "one ring". 😁
@@IndianaBows yes precious :D
Valeu, amigo!
Que madera usaste?????
I don't remember Legolas using carbon fiber arrows :P This would be cool if you could make this with elven strength, 80#+ Lbs. - I'd be interested.
The vídeo was about the bow, not the Arrows. 😆 And It could easily end with 100+ pounds. In the first steps of the tiller, the bow had 85lb at the brace height. To end with 60lb ( as I expect ) I had to remove a lot of wood. So, 80# It's a good and easy weight to get with this model.
measurements dont show where you stsrt or end or what you do with part you cut at beginning very difficult to follow. For ex at start od messuring 56 inches then you make mark and measure 3 inches at what point on the board you cut? thanks
👍👍👍
🎖️🌟👍🎖️🌟👍
I wish u sell that bow, I would love to have it. I don't think i can make it for myself or find someone who can make something similar hmm 🤔
You try make a crimean tatar bow
Where can I find that fiber you used to back your bows?
In stores that sell epoxy resin or supplies for lamination.
@@IndianaBows is it fiberglass?
Yes. Unidirecional Fiberglass ( Roving)
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So how does it feel to shoot?
A little hand shock and not very fast as a modern laminated bows. But It's a powerful bow and I have a lot of Fun every time I shot It. 😁
And i forgot to add, you did all the preceding without compromising the bows integrity....
What!? 🤔 That thread was unidirectional Fiberglass. 🤷🏻♂️
Was on board to a beautiful well built bow until the DECORATION BUG bit you
The Idea was to make a functional replica of the movie bow. And the decoration is exactly like that. 🤷🏻♂️
I think the next one Avatar bow.
howmuch
This one is not for sale. =)
No
Buona fortuna.
