This week we continue Project Jigsaw, our 1960's inspired supercar project based on a Porsche Boxster. We celebrate May 4th, (Star Wars Day) and continue shaping the metal front end of the car out of aluminum. Come along as Tony and Ryan problem-solve the complex engineering behind this project, and take jabs at each other all along the way!

Don’t worry guys, we won’t make this car amphibious! 🤣👍🏻
Thank goodness. I was a little worried.
Silly question: couldn’t you guys do a rough cut of the panel (at least for these simple shapes) brute force it into place a bit and tack it then heat the panel with a torch to cause the aluminum to release its current “memory” and once it cools it’ll be in a closer to the shape you want space? I’m probably describing it wrong but I believe it’s called heat forming or heat working? I think it’s opposite of the process you’d use to straighten a bent aluminum piece.
In my personal opinion, I believe that the old school pop-up headlights from the late 70s/early 80s porsches would be perfect for this body shape.
*Love the English BatWheel*
NO!!!! Because you told me to comment no.
May the 4th be with you. 🌌
May tha 4th be with ye always
and with you!
And also with you.
What’s up with the 928???
May the Force serve you well...
The shape isn’t starting to take form. You’re forming the shape 😂
Ba dum tssss
When you guys finish Jigsaw, I vote for a Dakar Rally style build
One of the best episodes ever. Loved the content and the homage to Star Wars!
Love to metal shaping video’s what made me start watching the channel…… not sure about anyone else but would love to see a metal shaping for dummies video……. Can’t wait to see JigSaw fully bodied
Watch anything by Wray Schelin and also Karl Fisher. Carter Auto restyling as well. Fitzee’s Fabrication also.
You have the best all round videos. That is they aren't square. You started it!
You guys are my Saturday morning cartoons
Shit. You literally beat me to this by 4 minutes 😂
2:24 Needed the blue eyes from the car for the day 😁😂
Along with craftsmanship your patience and approach is so impressive. Great watch from here in England.
Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago. That's in the West Indies. Great video as usual. Love your video format. I like seeing your environment shots. It might be boring to many but it's great for me to see the weather, the seasons, the animals and the other projects in the background. Keep up the good work 😊😊😊
*I am all in for making it Amphibious, then you could do a 007 style reveal "My name is Bondo, James Bondo"* 😂
wow, at this stage is a very nice Cybertruck 😀
Came here to say that. 😂
Hell yeah, make it the fastest car boat!!!!!!! Thanks Ray
I love the little easter eggs you left around the video. May the 4th be with you!
favorite youtube channel, funny, informative, inspiring. keep up the great work, all the way from New Zealand.
Wow, thanks!
Nice!!!! Enjoying the series. Now I need to go back and watch some other projects!!!!
Wow!!! Impressive! True artists. I just found your channel. Gotta love science, math, artistry and hard work. I appreciate you guys sharing your passion and vision> Nicely done... so far
Great work guys!!! Watching from Ireland!!
Crucible videos are easy like Sun....err... Saturday morning.
I've never seen Star Wars, so the references went right over my head
It's never too late to watch them!
great job amazing work As always, to assist in visualizing you could print images of the scaled inlets and fog lights and hold them in place with magnets
Except it’s Aluminum, so maybe double stick tape?
I can’t wait to see how this comes out! That design is so dope
Man, this is some good stuff. Amazing craftsmanship!
Front panels are looking great. Excellent work.
Thank you both for making great videos that teach and entertain I think at this quality of work you should hit the half a million subs by the end of the year
Really loving this car. And this series.
Fascinating stuff really enjoying this build series 👍
This thing is so darn amazing its unreal
This is gonna be a sick looking little ripper. Keep up the good work.
Yay, was waiting this morning for the next episode to drop 😊
loving your skills from down under! Keep up the great work
Those are not dolls they’re action figure make them fight hahaha. Love the metal work I’ve learned more from you than I did taking a 2 year automotive school. You make it fun to learn.
The 4th be with you it may
Yes! Make it float! :D
Someday we will have to build something amphibious.
Great work guys. I like the honesty to the project. That you guys aren't professional metal shapers. But the fact that you're learning and teaching us at the same time.
Really nice work once again.
Thanks Jeff!
Look forward for this details and (how to) pleases! you've peaked my interest
It's great being able to see the form beyond the wire frame. That front wing is starting to give a hint of a blend between a muscle car flare and a European aesthetic. It's really pretty! Absolutely love watching the progress you're making, as well as getting a proper gauge of how much work goes into something like this. While I can't wait until we see the finished article, there's just as much enjoyment watching the process.
Just found your channel, I’m in love. Beautiful project.
Looks awesome and can't wait to see what's to come!
Nice to see coachworking is alive and kicking. The car will look well when finished. Fair play to you both on the work done so far.
Excellent progress, looking great
All I can say is you seem very young to have so much skill. Love this project. I think you should do an extended rear end like cars from the Speed Racer anime
I'm hoping to see you guys next weekend! It'll be my first time to a Carlisle show
when you have star wars and an amphibious vehicle in one episode.......this is gold
Consider making the center section of the hood, rear of the vent tunnel, be lowered a bit. If its below the height of the hood in front of the vent, youll create more of a venturi, pulling air through and creating more front downforce (and also make less turbulence in that area). A bit like a giant NACA Duct. And frankly i think it would look amazing!
Impressive as well as encouraging ❤ Have the idea of rebodying a written off Boxster myself. Not there yet, but you guys inspire. Big Time 💪🛠👍👌
You know what? Make it amphibious. The sheer confusion on peoples faces when you just drive into a river off a boat ramp and dont sink would be PERFECT
Beautiful English wheel! Great channel, subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Wish you could drop a video every day. Just love the content guys. I hear you guys mentioned with other creators too and love to hear about the behind the scenes support you all provide for each other. Shoutout to Tony Angelo at Stay tuned and The boys over at Grind Hard Plumbing Co
I mean. You have the right chassis to make an amphicar. Engine in the back is a typical formula for them.
My cat Petey is fascinated by this video.
Man I love your guys humour.. this channel will never get old. Thanks for what you do, and May the 4th be with you. 🥳
It is certainly starting to look good 👍🇦🇺
it's really good to see car videos with visible progress each week. Great work!
Hopefully I’ll see ya this weekend!💪🏼
This and some Tom's Refurb on a saturday mornin makes me feel like a real south central PA boy, really explores the depth of character round these parts
Any new updates on the 928 build?
May the Force be with you
Great work guys. It is amazing to watch you guys doing this kind of work. Work that is getting to be a lost art.
Yes! 🛥
I love the view from the front low down, seeing the tires poke out around the fender. If you can get half way to that render 🤤
NO! What an awesome car, You guys areawesome at what you do. Leave the boats for the shipyard.
Love how the shape is coming out. Great work as always
Love this build 👍
Commenting NO! on the amphibious. Starting to come together. Looks great.
good voice man u'r the best
Amphibious ? OH HELL Yeah ! ! ! Hydrofoils, jetboat drive nozzles that drop out from below, Delta wing flight surfaces ! ! ! ! ......... ? ? ? ? ARR,ARRRRR Arrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Coming together so well. Going to look amazing, keep up the progress!
It's already starting to look much better then it did as a boxster. 👍
This might be the coolest build on KZhead right now
Thats a No to amphibious vehicle! 😂
Is so satisfying to see work getting done 😊
Love this content, and you guys are great. Thx
amazing job that's insane
Who the hell buys a Jar Jar figure?! Great project though guys, keep up the amazing work! 😁
The masking tape trick for finding the cut line is genius
May the 4th be with you.
Big time impressive 👍👍
You don't bake an apple pie and halfway thru decided it's going to be a wedding cake.. No on the amphibian idea. Keep it rolling and make it scary-fast looking.
Oh man, last week I called Tony John for some reason! Oops. Loving the progress, it's really starting to come together. Tony (got it right this time) what is the coolant lube/adhesive that you use on the coolant tubes? You mentioned it many videos ago and I can't seem to find it.
I was going to comment about making the car amphibious but then saw Ackbar and realised it was a trap!!
*Or instead of making it amphibious you could make JigSaw a hovercraft, now this is pod racing* *May the fourth be with you* 🖖
Cool concept. Probably be real quick
Love it already. Earned a sub.
Make it amphibious and call it Jar Jar
Aluminum body later history Audi...Mercedes-Benz 👍😎 indual home Aluminum make car body possible
Nice job, my padawan 👍
YOU REALY WANT US TO BELIEVE YOU BOUGHT A PORCHE BOXSTER FOR $500.00 DREAM ON COWBOY.
A first year, base model Boxster with a blown engine and cosmetic damage? Yes, we did buy it for $500 lol.
interesting to watch. subbed
Thought I’d read the scrolling story, where I paused it said “Tony and Ryan felt a strange sensation wash over them their bodies tingled with energy” I then had to start the story from the beginning to know why 🚗
On the amphibious note, no please. But that nose looks like a big air dam. Personally I think it needs a less steep angle, but I'm trusting the process. Nice work gents.
I think the car meeds to keep the blue eyes! Blue lightly tinted glass, or maybe just some high K bulbs.
May the 4th be with you, love you guys as always. And comment: No!
Metal!
May the Fourth be with you
Look at the Brazilian Bianco S sportscar for saving some time and effort to figure out the headlight location.
7:30 no
17:08 nom nom nom inkzall.
Ryan...don't let Tony mess your hair again...
