I had the 400’s Great Grandfather in the 90’s. It never let me down and ran every day for almost 20 years till I sold the business. SCM is quality equipment! Good choice👍🏻

You already know this but……… you get comfortable with that saw and there will be no other saw. I ran one of those for years and cannot tell you how much of a joy it is to use! We had a smaller miter gauge that slid into the main slide to that I would use before a chop saw. Awesome job on your work. Enjoy that saw!

- Both SCM and Felder have smaller throw sliders that fit in the same footprint as a 36” Sawstop PCS. Take a look at the Andrea’s workshop on YT.

to be honest, what i like the most was the quick assembly of the machine... usually take hours to put everything together and aligned. but this machine took less them 5 min. incredible! 😂😂😂

That's the exact same unit that my grandma has. She assembled it all by herself, too. Her whole cellblock was SO proud of her. She even got a new tattoo to celebrate after she made her first cut!

I have no idea what that is but it looks cool. You managed to put that together in 4 minutes. It would have taken me 4 days, 2 or 3 pots of coffee, a couple packs of Marlboros and a whole bunch of swear words 🤔😳😂.

This is a great video... funny enough, I have a pretty much identical saw, but built in 1993... (with only a couple of differences in the power buttons and such ;) ) Even the sliding mechanism of the fence. I had no idea my saw was so ahead of it's time.... well now I can buy the spare parts... one of the 'wheels' in the extended arm is broken...

Why the upgrade from the Maksiwa? Presumably it is a bit of an upgrade. certainly more expensive. Does that saw only come in 3 phase? I'm deciding after i get moved to upgrade my bolt on slider to a full slider. and looking at SCM, Maksiwa, & Laguna. Not totally sure if i wanna go w/ the 10' either vs 5'. as i'm still mostly hobbyist and not sure if i'll be focusing on building my business this year or not. Money won't be an issue so it'd be mostly for fun and my own stuff. I've worked in big cabinet shops and used a few different slider's tho.
