As a citizen from birth who became disabled after working 32 yrs, paying into the system, I'm am sickened and not happy at all that people on SSA, SSD, SSI and Veteran's are taking the biggest hit, now prioritized Illegal Immigrants, people who committed a crime to be here, are being prioritized over American citizens. I simply can't make it on the tiny monthly check I get which is abt $13,000/yr. while these people who criminally entered are getting abt. $80K/yr plus $500/child, free healthcare, free housing , 'immediate citizenship,', work cards and more. But I have no voice in where or how our money is spent. We must close the borders completely for a time to reassess and work on helping our own people so that when we can, we can reopen LEGAL entry into the US of people who can perform a skill and make their way without draining what little money we have left to help the US, imo.
They are being treated in VA hospitals and given SSI; then we wonder why those programs are going broke😂

I will say this Colorado is a felon friendly state and the jobs are plentiful…. The problem is the cost of living is high af and the jobs offered can cover the cost of living. As far as migrants go they are being dropped off every other day everywhere here! And with the lack of help they have for the Colorado residents because of the government giving out resources that we don’t have is diabolical. I am all for people coming here and making their lives better but I also feel like if you want to do it for migrants you have to do it for the residence as well that have worked hard paid taxes, fought for their country, etc.

I always thought Denver was so cool, the high lonesome of the golden days of western movies, but like another famous western local, Oregon, the democrat parties woke, socialist policies have ruined it's legacy too.
I am born and raised here. It’s a beautiful place to live and raise a family. We live several miles outside of Denver city limits and are now not able to pull up to stop lights freely without a mob (group of 10+) of immigrants begging to wash your windows for a buck. They walk up and down the rows of cars while you wait for the streetlight to change green. Some of them are aggressive and it’s scary. If you aren’t free from harassment on a midday commute in a higher end neighborhood, you’re not free anywhere.
my grandfather was wealthy and came first class and became a citizen. my grandmother was brought by her father, but they had to have a sponser, a place to live and a job lined up, and they had to be healthy. they both came from Greece. they married, had 6 children. all 3 sons served in the armed forces. this is representative of the way legal immigration should take place.

I have been in Denver 2 months and its a vacation compared to Portland Or, homeless and/or drug issues. What I have seen in the area a couple of guys living on the street that are wearing foreign miltary uniforms. I will also as a say that in my trade the wages in Denver is the same at it was 15 years ago. Its over 35% less than Portland and the cost of living is comparable.
You haven’t been in Denver long enough then. Denver has a major issue with homelessness, drug problems and crime. Colorado is number one in the nation for high auto thefts, and the politicians don’t care because it’s only a property crime which is no big deal to them. For all other crimes, there are little to no consequences. If you don’t think Denver is as bad as Portland, it’s going down hill fast and will be at the same level soon if not worse!
