This new format is by far the best. Even if you can't keep up the daily vlog, always focus on what it's like to live in a chateau, unique projects, antique shopping, local fairs, events and markets, arts and crafts, and cooking/eating out. We'd also like to learn more about your region of france, the history, different villages... live vicariously through you.

I've been in a real depressed state as of late. These daily videos spark bits of passion in me that I haven't felt in years. While the tasks in the videos may appear mundane to you or others, to me it's a brief respite from trying times. Sometimes you get wind in your sails from the inspiration you gather from others -- these videos do just that. Much love from American.

Please don't be afraid to reach out for help if you need it, there are so many things that can help you manage your mental health. I know because I live with depression & anxiety and while it still happens I have learned better how to deal with it. XOX

Great idea about selling the watercolors. I see so many people asking you to do this and I think they will sell fast! Will be fun to watch you do some painting. I think I remember at the beginning of your vlogs you painted a view of the chapel / gardeners cottage. It was so pretty. My knees would give out if I had to do 85 steps to my room every day. Dang arthritis.

Linda I know the feeling, but 6 years ago I had both knees replaced, pain gone... from the knees! People just don't understand how painful Arthritis is...
Be sure to protect your work
For me it would be my hip. Sad to say that in order to become a good/ great equestrian. One must learn how to fall off first, then of course get back on and do it all again.... Not usually a problem when you are 7 or 8, .....50 years later , well that's a different story. My apartment is on the fourth floor. 😱
You are a man of many talents: not only vlogging, shooting and editing video, but also drawing, doing a woman's hair and makeup, doing the inside and outside remodeling on the chateau and your cottage, cooking...you are amazing. Thanks for sharing with us.

Michael: "Just do a rough sketch." What we actually see: A piece of artwork I couldn't match in a million years. I have been waiting and waiting for some Michael Petherick artwork for my new granddaughter's nursery. Also, it must be said that although Michael was tricked into signing away the copy right on his designs, for the person who stole those designs to then claim that she designed them, that's horrible.
You are such a fascinating chap! Your talents are never ending. With all of those drawings, I think you need to get some kind of case, or notebook to keep them in, so they stay safe & protected. I'm sure your friends in England sure miss you. Thanks for sharing so much abt yourself. 🤗

Sad to see some people say they were close to unsubscribing to your channel, but people go through things. Life happens, love happens, depression happens unexpectedly; and sometimes people need a bit of a break to heal or to deal, and to live. But glad for those who haven't unsubscribed! Love you Michael! Hello Michael…first of all, you are a very talented young man. I absolutely adore your wallpaper you had stored away in your dresser drawer, just beautiful. I think the much loved bear sitting at the table with you is perfect. I have a passion for dishes and I had to give quite a few away because I just had to many and not enough space. About 25 years ago I collected English teacups and I wish I had kept them. I for one would buy a painting of your watercolors. Thank you so much for sharing with us your private life. 🇺🇸

i am sure you know you would do yourself a favor by filing your design bits properly. that “abandoned office” is a perfect spot. just need proper file cabinets and the like. beautiful work! 🦩
The artisan about to restore Stephanie's chapel interior is older and among the last and best artistic restorers. You have the perfect skill sets to learn and take up that profession.
A very well done Michael! You are keeping on track and we know producing one video a day is hard, but with more practice, becomes easier! We just love your initial choice of music to your videos. Your introduction reel was obviously an inspired move; very well done. Love the visits to the other Chateau owners. Really very much enjoyed seeing the renovation work on your brother’s chateau. Everyone is saying the same thing - your cards would sell so easily as you are so talented. The wallpaper design for you know who is my absolute favourite and anything on a similar heme would be such a hit for you, it's so beautiful. Start small with cards and your success will grow so quickly. So lovely to have you back to being you!

Love the bear, I used to have a Steiff Bear too, that if you turned it upside it growled. Nice to see you sketching, that’s a great idea to get back to and have a lovely tea break. Like your bedroom, lots of stairs to it, must sleep well when you arrive. I have two sets of solid silverware that I started to buy as a 8 year old and now senior. I use it every day and love it.

I agree with everyone else who have commented on your designs. You could produce limited editions of stationary, cards, wrapping paper, scented lining paper and possibly fabrics for sale. Maybe create a children’s book about your bear living in the cottage.

Michael, design a wallpaper for the a bedroom in the chateau, paper the room in it and use it as a showcase for purchasers. It would be wonderful to see the wallpaper in an actual room and helps drive sales. Also be a great way of leaving your mark on the chateau. Love to see you back to your self.

I’m glad you are using your artistic talents again, you have it in spades. They are going to be kicking themselves that they treated you like they did. You will shine brightly. Their star will dim. Use the water Lilly design I love it. Bear will find life more bearable now he has been reunited with you.
I can only imagine how time consuming and difficult it must be to creat content, edit and upload each day, but you and Andrew are doing an amazing job. What maybe just daily life for you, is so interesting to so many of us. Your talent, passion and authenticity really shine through. Please keep these going Michael. As many other viewers and supporters have said, I would buy your art, wall paper, cards etc.
I agree with Ian. I think you are doing a great job! I tried to film a knife sharpener that I have. It is not all that easy. Keep it up.
Karma dictates that someone who is creative, talented, artistic, hard working, and has that spark of genius inside themselves will go on to make many more incredible designs for many more applications. Someone who lacks those things but will hijack someone else's designs, exploiting their friendship and trust, knows that is the only way they will ever have any source material to put into production. Any success they achieve from it has to feel empty and fraudulent. Michael, you have many fortunes worth of designs living inside you and this has been a lesson well learned. Thank you for making sure we knew the truth.

Man, Michael is serious about his bay leaves! It's these kind of details that are one of the fun things about watching him. He never wants to settle for "good enough", if there's any way he can do better. Admirable.

I would keep ahold of every piece of paper demonstrating each stage of the creative process, any formal documents relating to your work with them, etc because people like that don't like their names to be tarnished with some choosing to take any legal action possible. Definitely keep it all nice and safe, Michael. I hope that one day your creative talent really gets a moment to shine and even better, pays all the bills. Big hugs from Australia. x

Ok Michael so now that you had the opportunity to learn the design process you can take your design to the "Gardner's Cottage" on plates and mugs and TABLECLOTHS! Don't do it for money but do it for passion, the creativity and the wonderment. 😊😊

Michael, I cannot be the only one who is HOPING DESPERATELY that you will upload some of the vlogs you created in your early years! I am sure multitudes want to see them! There are technicians who specialise in transferring VHS/BET to disc. It is an industry especially for weddings etc. My understanding is that it is not overly expensive, though I have not had one done myself. Loving your art! Thank you for the video!

What they did to you was completely shitty. Leaves me feeling horrible thinking that someone could do that. You should totally start your own wallpaper designs and things. You are so talented. Incredible. Look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work. Warming the tea top also helps stopping more cheaply made tea pots from cracking. :-)

I agree. I will no longer watch the tv channel with those ghastly grasping people any more.... beyond the pale. Michael is so talented, he has a very bright future. So glad that he is now so much more confident and happy.
I wouldnt dream of watching or buying anything to do with these people and their chateau.
@@evelyndunham5135 I don't know the exacts of the whole situation, but I believe another couple that owns a Chateau in France had Michael create that wallpaper then copyrighted it so he can't use it. And they didn't even give him credit for it. I know there is more to the story, but I am not sure what it is so, perhaps someone else can add?

So excited that you are going to hang your paintings in the cottage. I had a wonderful instructor in design school that gave us great tips for hanging multiple pieces of art together. If possible, layout the pieces on the floor near where they are going to be hung. Begin with the largest piece in the center and build the composition around it. The bottom row of artwork should be hung at the same level which creates an even "horizon line." This anchors the whole group of pictures. The top of the composition can be uneven. Think of it this way, it is calming to look at an even horizon where the earth meets the sky and interesting to see the uneven cloud formations above. When working with the pieces, take pictures of the various compositions you develop to decide which one works best.
Michael would you ever think of printing up your beautiful designs onto wallpaper and use it in some of the rooms of the chateux or your bedroom in the gardeners cottage ,you are so so talented.

I can see why you used the office in the chateau for your art! It gets some really lovely light. That last pattern that you showed could be charming as simple varieties. Lines of all blues, etc. I quite enjoy these dailies, as it feels like we're all spending the day with you. Thanks for taking us along!

Making a wreath of bay leaves would be perfect for your cottage. The leaves will dry perfectly, you can pick leaves off as you need them, and it’ll be a great earthy decoration!
