I am showing how to make baklava from scratch with rolling pin, the easiest way I made so far. We are going to make the fillo / phyllo sheets all together with sprinkling starch between the layers which will result paper thin sheets.
Ingredients:
1 small egg
1/4 cup each milk and vegetable oil
30 gr. butter at room temp.
1/3 cup water
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vinegar
about 2, 2+1/2 cup flour
150-250gr. coarsely ground walnuts
to make the layers about 200gr. wheat or corn starch
to butter the layers:
125gr. butter, melted and foam discard
1/4 cup vegetable oil
For the syrup
1+3/4 cup water (400ml)
2+1/3 cup sugar
small lemon wedge
👩‍🍳 Tips and Tricks:
You can use walnuts, pistachios or hazelnuts
Make sure you have enough coating of starch in between folding of the each dough.
Bake at preheated 180C for 15 min and lower to 160C and bake for another 40-50 min until golden. If the top begins to bake in shorter time, lower the heat and bake slowly.
Check the video for the syrup consistency and pour hot syrup over hot baklava.
🕒 Time Stamps:

00:41 Gathering Ingredients
01:15 Baklava Dough
02:31 Baklava Syrup
03:13 Preparing the Butter
03:37 Shaping Layers

  • You put so much heart into what you do for us. Everything is so simple. Today I discovered your channel and I am so grateful to you. I love Turkish sweets and Turkish cuisine. I have already learned how to prepare coffee according to the Turkish tradition. In Poland, we brew coffee in the traditional way. Turkish, but it has nothing to do with your tradition. It was only from the Internet that I learned how to make coffee like in Turkey. Thank you very much once again and best regards 🥰

    @Evren1Pasa@Evren1PasaАй бұрын
    • My pleasure yes you can use grape vinegar. Actually we don't get the information on how acidic the vinegars we use. Or there is no grade like that as far as I know. But alternately you can use that too . Hope you enjoy it
