  • Def wasn't the truck, the truck would of been gone before the blast, just gone instantly, but its still there for quarter of a second into the blast. Also correct me if I'm wrong but the truck nearest the explosion was coming from the Russian side of the bridge because the blast happened on the Ukrainian side. A secondary blast can be seen coming from the rail bridge next to it, likely two sets of explosives timed to detonate in sync.

And the explosion is not ahead of the truck, it's right on the spot if you check the street lamps. Sparks are probably from huge shaped charges inside the truck that sends molten metal stream all the way to the train.

    @Masterofallfive@Masterofallfive Жыл бұрын
    • From the video, it appears there were two explosions. The first, probably divided from each other under the roadway, dropped two sections, indicating two separate charges, probably not from a truck. The second, occurring just after the first, appears to come from just under the bridge on the left, an extended fire directed at the overhead rail bridge, possibly thermite or incendiary shells to ignite the tank cars. A very well-planned operation, I think.

    • No it is not. They’ve managed to run exactly ten passenger cars over after thorough inspection and with only one person in at a time. The one remaining lane on the bridge is unstable and so it is impossible for trucks to cross it, Russian authorities have announced the bridge will remain closed to almost all transport until October 31st. The destroyed lane may take up to a year to fix according to the engineer the head of the Russian Crimean authorities talked to. Now the *rail bridge* next to the road bridge might run again sooner, it was relatively lightly damaged due to being higher up. They ran an empty test train over it a few hours ago and the bridge did not collapse, suggesting they could have the train line running again in a few days if the burning fuel didn’t weaken anything vital. A big question is whether the burning fuel melted or damaged any of the pipelines for Crimea located on the underside of the track. Being first hit with the shockwave from below and then several hours of burning fuel from above can’t be good for them, might need replacing.

Somewhere amongst all of the pictures there is one view showing the road deck lifted up suggesting an explosion from underneath. • That bridge has been working flawlessly for basically 4 years, connecting the illegally annexed Crimea to Russia. Then, in 2022, Russian troops invaded new regions of Ukraine and the bridge exploded a few months later. As a bully, you can raise the bar as you like but consequences are going to arrive at some point.

    • The main navigation span (designed for ships to pass under) is intact. The attack occured on one of the causeways leading to it. A section of the westbound roadway is destroyed. There appears to be some damage to the eastbound roadway (which is an independent deck) but it is still capable of carrying some traffic. Damage was caused to the parallel railway bridge (more because a fuel train caught fire than a direct result of the orignal bomb), however it can probably still carry traffic on both lines with minimal repair.
