Every time I see footage of Tyson, I'm amazed at how complete a boxer he was. People talk about his power, but he was also remarkably technically skilled and very, very tactically savvy. His footwork to switch angles was crazy.

Roy Jones, during his height, was a beast. Good list.
@jaidamann83654 жыл бұрын
Terrence Crawford is one of those boxers you just appreciate more the better you get at boxing. Roy Jones Jr. is such a pure natural talent that from the first time I saw any footage of him I knew he was something very special and I still think that in his prime he was unquestionably one of the greatest of all time. What really made him so damn fast (apart from the insane reaction time and physical abilities) was the fact that his eyes and brain were fast enough to keep up with his hands so even at that insane speed his punch selection was still ridiculously good.
@e2rqey Жыл бұрын
Roy Jones Jr doesn't get enough credit for his boxing brain. He was able to work out opponents patterns and tells, and work around them mid-fight. We also saw it when he was commentating he could predict fighters next moves by small signals of body language
@shaunswift688 Жыл бұрын
That is a really great point. Some people can fire off those crazy fast combo's but it's like an automated thing. His being consciously aware of those insanely fast punches is just INSANE

I’ve been watching Khan since his silver medal win in Athens, and again I’m only talking about his boxing career. He’s got 3 KO losses; same as Zab Judah. Does that mean he has a weak chin too? I’ll happily talk boxing with a fellow fan, but don’t suggest I’m claiming other fans are being racist towards Khan when at no point I mentioned race. I talk boxing. Nothing more

Defeat number 3 - Erik Morales. ... Defeat 4 - Timothy Bradley. ... Defeat 5 - Juan Manuel Marquez. ... Defeat 7 - Jeff Horn. For real? Pacman had one real fight and barely landed a punch on Mayweather. Oscar faced down the top 5 plus of his prime and won more than he lost vs the best. Hell who even is Jeff Horn. I thought he was a wide receiver for the Seahawks. Oscar vs Chavez was a great fight and showed how fast Oscar was. He ducked noone.

asdfdg11 b/c it’s video taped. Lol everyone knows he was out of shape vs Barrera and had broken hands 8 months prior. He wasn’t training seriously because he couldn’t, he was around 30 pounds overweight just 2 weeks before the fight and had to shed it all off that fast which is terrible for your body. What he should’ve done is pushed his fight date back and trained/recovered properly but he got too greedy and wanted the money. He had to shadow box in the sauna for hours the night before that fight to lose a couple more pounds. Idk how smart your are but just watching that fight you can see Naseem was not hisself, he was tired and sloppy. That was the only fight he didn’t summersault into the ring. Despite that he still went the whole 12 rounds and even won like 4 of them, never got knocked down. Barrera is a good fighter too so that speaks for itself.

@@jeremiahtheprophet7125 Yea Roy is the 🐐 in my opinion, he was untouchable in his prime. I wish he would have retired after he beat Ruiz, I feel like he would have probably been unanimously agreed upon as the GOAT if he did.
Roy Jones, during his height, was a beast. Good list.
Roy Jones Jr doesn't get enough credit for his boxing brain. He was able to work out opponents patterns and tells, and work around them mid-fight. We also saw it when he was commentating he could predict fighters next moves by small signals of body language
That is a really great point. Some people can fire off those crazy fast combo's but it's like an automated thing. His being consciously aware of those insanely fast punches is just INSANE
Crawford is scared to fight stronger than him. He is a cherry picking fighter

Going back through your library has been a treat! Before hitting play, I hope you remind those who may have forgotten about a prime RJJ before he started going up in weight. Both hands could leave you horizontal. He was power. AND he was fast. He would put on a show. He’d hit you from every angle. And he’d punish every mistake. He could be slick. He could be savage. But It was always a good fight to watch
Love the Hail Mary soundtrack when you talked about Tyson. RIP PAC
I’ve no idea why Khan gets so much shit. He’s a straight up warrior who gave his all every time he fights. Never been in a boring fight. Props to him
Facts. His body and chin fail him but his heart never wavers. Gotta respect that. True warrior. World champ 22, unified 24. 10-3 against World Champs. Olympic Silver. Can't knock him.
Funny thing about his chin is that it isnt even that weak. 97% of fighters you can name in that weight would fall to the hits that knocked him out
He killed a guy with his car, never even acknowledged it to the victim's family...that and he is a pretentious jerk with no chin in a carefully managed career. Racism?! Come on man!
CptKennyLoggins Are you sure you're not thinking about Naseem Hamed?
Mercenary Julius at no point in my comment have I mentioned race, Julius. I keep it strictly boxing. I’ve been watching Khan since his silver medal win in Athens, and again I’m only talking about his boxing career. He’s got 3 KO losses; same as Zab Judah. Does that mean he has a weak chin too? Ali’s boxing glues were literally an extension of his hands. It was so natural to him, he didn’t need tremendous power to put on man down.
What I like about Oscar Del La Hoya is that he never dodged anyone. He fought the best at their best. When you do that, you might suffer some losses. How many times have we watched these "super" fights when both boxers were past their prime.
You ever heard of Winky Wright?, Oscar avoided him saying he's a guy that can make anyone look bad!
Mr Tibbs Amir khan as well
He fought all the ones Tito beat. Mayorga, Vargas and so on. In regards of Winky, he did not fight De La Hoya because De La Hoya was paying him to little, so De La Hoya fought Campas. Oh BTW! Tito lost to Winky. He had the best guard, like a wall.
Mr Tibbs Oscar wasn’t the best so he lost when you better than the best you never lose
Yes, agree 100 percent. Look at pacman and his losses in prime years... Defeat Number 1 - Rustico Torrecampo. ... Defeat number 2 - Medgoen Singsurat (3k Battery) ...
You definitely got it right! Roy Jones Jr was definitely the greatest pound for pound fighter of all time. At his prime he was unstoppable.

Man, it's crazy watching the old greats. At a very young age, I remember being glued to the television set, boxing was popular in my household, we never had Cable T.V., if a big fight was coming up, it would be aired on FOX, CBS or NBC, pay per view wasn't even heard of yet.
You must be about my age I'm 53 in our household was the same way we loved boxing we watched every chance we got I never getting exciting just to get UHF channels

Excellent editing 👌👌👌👌
Thank you for cool video!
When tyson came on I was looking to the ref to save that man's life. The heavyweights are just way more dangerous, it's what makes them exciting.
my favorit is , and will remain forever Roy Jones jr
Song name for Gamboa intro?
Great list
Welcome back man!
There is something just incredibly pleasing to the eye about fast boxers. This is an incredible list you've put together. When Amir Khan is at #7 on the list, you know you've got some speedy ass guys.
Great list i love this video...

I watch your videos all the time and never subscribed, that's changed now. Can you do a video essay about boxing in anime to celebrate the return of BLTV?
