    • Also, you can take the real goldy brass look out with a light rub down with an ultra fine scotch bright pad 👍. That’s usually what I do for “satin”. And if you go easy you should cut through the brass plating.

  • As a young man I was obsessed with finishing my 8 hour work day, and then my 6 hours 'refurb my house' time, and then watching Norm Abraham on some home channel. I loved not necessarily his finished items but his craftsmanship and methods and the fact that he had every powertool, jig, machine and gizmo known to woodcrafting. He was a nice guy too. I had to give up my workshop when I moved house and self flagelated myself with an insane workload and now at 51 I yearn to get a workshop back, gather up all my tools, a van, and get back on the tools. You guys are the modern day 'Norms' (not 'Normos') with your videos and craftsmanship and ethos. So massively watchable and the mid century style you have is right up my street. Fantastic work and I will be diving down the educational rabbit hole this channel provides time and time again and learning masses from it. Hopefully when I finish all my current property portfolio with my creative brain smashing the interiors, and kick back, I will come and visit you and do a course and hang out. To the trolls.... get a f******g GRIP! This stuff is fractionally distilled excellence! From The UK with a manhug. Well done and keep on keeping on! Paul Million.

  • Man, I love the attitude you're taking about people using your designs. As someone who is getting into this craft, I have often wondered about how I might build my skillset. I think copying other people's work to use in my own home is a great way to do it. But, then what do you do when you build the next thing? You can't just stack all of these pieces up in your garage. Selling those practice projects makes a lot of sense. You're even taking it a little farther. I would not have probably set out to build another person's design for the purpose of reselling at a profit. The fact that you have given the green light to do so on small scale is really cool.

Throw the ugly piece in storage 50 years and it's antique. And then it's still all subjective. Is it handmade if you use a drill?lol. It's worth what it's sold for. Go art on life. Make with passion and the paper comes nuff to make next and pass some love.

  • Havent gotten a chance to watch one of your videos in a while (trying to limit YT screentime), but this was a beauty. Made it to the section about YT haters so here's a comment for the algorithm. While I haven't watched for a while, and with things changing, a four eyes video stays the same chill, artful, and poetic piece of internet cinema I have always enjoyed and respected. Keep up the good work!

  • I used to be a woodworker during 15 years in Belgium, but i'm no longer. Now I help actors and comedians to find jobs, and hope that one day I'll finish this 40yo crisis novel. But I spend a lot of hours watchnig your videos and I kind of regret my past choices. Anyway, your workshop, your tools, your ideas, your furnitures are really awesome. Congrats ! (I'm nearly about crossing the ocean to work with you (don't be afraid, won't do it).

  • funny enough this channel did inspire me to try and build my own puzzle table. Half the fun was looking back and realizing how I would change the design if I did it again. All said and done I got a functional puzzle table with above questionable stability thanks to this channel.

  • Longtime viewer, occasional caller here. I used to watch your videos because I liked the design aesthetic you and Sean work into your pieces. Over time I appreciated your video quality, humor and the obvious effort that you put into every video. Now I’m not a fan of your current slab movement but that’s just me. I continue to watch because I enjoy your videos and by extension, you. Sean will be missed but hey, he’s only a channel away.

  • You make me appreciate woodworking so much, and I can barely imagine having something so beautiful as one of your pieces in my home. Almost best of all, if you were a writer or a standup comedian, I would read what you wrote, or come to hear you perform. I love your use of language and your sense of humor. Art, in so many ways…

  • Man, this one got me. We chatted via phone right after Shawn had moved into your shop. Your tone was excited and anxious. Your guys’ wood-shop diaries series was SUCH a breath of fresh air. From ‘wave heads, to bro-dap sound overs, to other Chris’s infectious wheezing laugh. Thank you for all you chaps have done. Best of luck to the both of you as the seasons of life inevitably change. Keep on keepin’ on.

  • Nice to see the collaboration once again! The cool thing about watching craftsmen/people do their thing is that you can witness on the fly solutions to unique problems. I would have never thought to approach that void in the same way you chose to but neither way is the "correct" way to do it, because all ways are the "correct" way to do it. Love the slab work!

  • never stumbled across your vidoes before, dont really have a interest in woodworking. HOWEVER! now that i just spent close to half an hour watching, I learnt 2 things: 1. i apperently have an interest in woodworking. 2. Im gonna start woodworking. You got me hooked, so the upcoming weeks i'll spend going through your videos. Thanks!

  • Greetings, fellow sandwhich artist! Thank you for highlighting the silliness of people's attitudes about what people's work is worth. People deserve to work and be happy and live well. Labor is valuable, otherwise business owners wouldn't hire people in order to make money from others' work. Ergo...your builds are worth a lot. Thanks for all the great videos.
