A while ago, I had to pack some orders for our little eBay shop. Normally I don't film myself doing this, as I never thought it could be considered an ASMR trigger, until someone told me how much they enjoyed watching people pack stuff. Suitcases, gifts, orders, anything really.
A bell went off in my head so here we are. 🙂
In this video, I'm packing 9 orders: books, mirrors, DVDs, whetstones and some handbags, using bubble wrap, tissue paper and cardboard boxes. The packing tape makes an appearance, as well.
I reduced the volume significantly, to spare your eardrums. 👂

I am so soothed by ordinary tasks performed with ASMR in mind. Additionally, as a pianist, I am fascinated by how longer nails require a different sort of grasping and pulling. This is very relaxing to watch.

Love this. I love watching occasional packing videos small businesses put on tiktok or Instagram. I’ll even watch those scam ‘self defense’ order packing videos on tiktok just cause they sound so nice so this was a treat.
Sense & Sensibility! I love all the 1990s adaptations of Jane Austen's novels. Great video, Kat. You make packing look like such an elegant activity. Very professional!

@PoisabloomASMR yes, many times! I own the DVD set of both adaptations as well as 2 different adaptations of Persuasion and 3 of Emma. Pride & Prejudice is my favorite, and I've seen 4 different versions, but the 1995 adaptation is the gold standard and the only one I want to own. I like the 2007 Northanger Abbey but don't have that on DVD yet, and I'm still waiting for a decent Mansfield Park. I really like the book but don't feel any of the 3 adaptations I've seen truly do it justice. One might reasonably call me a Janeite. 😁
The Jane Austen House in Chawton (Hampshire) is looking for a new Chair to head the board and lead the Jane Austen Museum into its next phase. janeaustens.house/jobs/ I see one person in the house who would be an ideal fit. 🙂 You have my vote, Patrice. 👍

Times change quickly, huh?! **also - I’m OBSESSED with your packing! It’s like watching someone play Tetris - you have an amazing knack of making things fit perfectly into the packaging!

Before becoming self-employed, I worked for a number of years in the communications department of a web development company. Two colleagues of mine there, had started a joint eBay store where they sold clothes, jewellery, books, etc. Just stuff they found when cleaning out their closets. They were kind enough to allow me to list some items too, about twice a year, when I was decluttering my book shelves and closets. The shop must be over 10 years old by now. We only sell throughout Belgium. The shop has the last name of one of my former colleagues, and I don't know whether they'd be okay with me sharing the link so I'd better not. 🙂 Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the sounds in this video! ❤
@@PoisabloomASMR Thanks for answering my questions Kat! A joint eBay store is a great idea. Good way to get rid of stuff you don't need but still allow those things to have a new life with someone else. All the stuff you have is so interesting that I'm sure it must sell quickly 🙂. Take care! ♥
Having a joint eBay store works out ideally as otherwise I'd have to put the store on Vacation Mode for most of the year, while still having to solely take care of subscription fees. Now the store can remain open all year round, with a rotating managing role. Not everything on there sells, though. The handbags you see in the video ended up in the thrift store (the order was cancelled). Surprisingly, the first thing to sell was the whetstone.🙂
