My old man showed me the float bowl tap when I was a kid. Sadly he past in 2020 but I still carry on everything he taught me. Great channel and always refreshing to watch your positivity. 👊🤙
The tap, yes.
No computer chips, no fuel injection, no fancy paint, no plastic, no BS, just a down to earth beautiful bike. What’s not to love!
Yep. Not gonna go the same way with todays bikes in the future I imagine.
Exactly what I loved about my old '47el Knucklehead. Geeze, I miss that bike!!
@@lawrenceklein3524 oh I bet. At least you had it at some point in it's long life.
Jap Crap !!
Knee buckling 55 HP
"We've got spark at the points. That's a BIG positive". Made me chuckle 😄.
Cool! You're a reincarnation of your Dad. My wife and I visited your museum years back and watched him fire up bikes on the first kick, he was an exceptional man, the world needs more like him.
This is why I love you guys.. saving these beautiful old bikes
BEAUTIFUL THING!!! Thx for sharing... Be Safe Everyone!!
Gorgeous bike wish I could have it , spent all my money on my father , god rest his sole 5yrs ago, keep it up guys this is history not the shit there pushing now😊
Such a beautiful bike. The proportions on that model are perfect. I bet it was a blast to ride it! A great addition to the museum.
What a wonderful find you lucky bastard 👊👍💪👌
So excited to watch this. 60 years ago, I was in high school, did the same thing several times, love it. Know the bike just like my own fingers. Still riding today, by the way. God bless America !
Thanks for preserving these beautiful historic bikes. I really enjoy your channel!
That just gave me goosebumps I love pans I've had my 1960 since 1979 44 years now and still is my favorite. Thanks for the video made my day.
Man, that is a beautiful ol' Harley!
God why would someone leave such a beauty sitting in a garage for over 20 years.
Same reason I think old men stop hunting and sell their guns , age. At 54 my Grandfather laid his Harley down at an intersection and broke his hip . The end of a lifetime of riding
I sure hope I don't do that .Been riding since 57 .Still on a fat boy at 81.
I have coming to you museum on my bucket list. I’m all the way from Oregon. I get all my accurate facts on motorcycles from you channel.
She ran so sweet he just said screw puttin it on the lift, i got to ride it! 😄 now thats high praise
She is a beauty. Well done mate for saving another original bike . Cheers mate from Australia 🇦🇺

Such a special moment in history in what I believe is the first start up and ride! This pan was loved and cared for. Thank you for sharing this!
I was in the museum for the first time just last week, I can still smell the oil ! When you get a chance go ! Thanks Matt and Dale
Simply AWESOME!! Just mechanical without any computer crap, PERFECT! A true mechs dream!
That bike sounds absolutely amazing for sitting for so long
What a beautiful machine, Thanks Matt and crew
I have my grandfathers 1941 Indian Bonneville Chief. I purchased it from my grandmother after grandpa's death. The restoration took my 7 years to complete. Before starting the restoration, I wanted to ride the bike to see if it would start. It had to be pulled behind a tractor to finally get it running after decades of setting in an old barn. It really surprised me that for such an old bike, how well balanced the bike was. When coming back to the house on a gravel road, the rear tire was rotted and blew out. Even with the rear tire blown the bike was still rode very well. I believe that if this had been a newer bike, it would have gone down. The people who manufactured and build motorcycles and cars decades old took a lot of pride in what they did.
I can not imagine the rush when you KNOW it's comin back to life!
Finding an original Panhead is like a lifetime of Christmas presents👍😎
I don’t know why I loved this so much. Bringing her back to life after so long
thats my dream bike right there.....perfect from every angle. so beautiful .

Is that a homemade or maybe aftermarket luggage rack? Don't think I've seen one like that from the factory. Thanks as always Matt! Love all you guys are doing!

Love this kind of stuff, and quiet , never heard one
I have fond memories of my first HD, a '48 Pan. Found out I didn't have enough coordination to stick with a suicide shifter stopping on all the hills where I lived so I put a mouse trap and took to the breeze. 50 some years and 7 HD'S later, I'd like to find another Pan like that '48. Your find was incredible! Maybe someday...
1969 bought a 1953 Hydraglide $250. and rode it home . 17 years old moved up from those Honda 90s. 71 Shovelhead pikled (12 years)in the shed ( not OE). Wondering if I should flush the top end to remove the oil to prevent carbon buildup. 2 k on a rebuild . Fuel price’s thinking about that 50 mpg. Used to ride cross county .
What a beautiful bike, sounds amazing too. Nice one matey.
Nice find brother. Another great piece of American history saved.

The suspense had me on the edge of my seat
Man knows his stuff and what a find get the back story if you can on that survivor - awesome - should have been me who found it - I don't know if I could handle the absolute amazement if I did congratulations 🎉
That was pretty easy to get it running, love the patina, looks like it's going to be a solid driver. Good luck
Awesome video brother stay strong and God bless
Isn't it amazing how manufacturers went to great pains to make things beautiful, in those days? Form and function - that's what's genuine; no postmodernist anachronist mish-mash.
So true! Today it's all about sculpting plastic. Beauty will save the world.
Open your eyes - there are loads of beautiful bikes made nowadays Ducatis, Hondas, Moto Guzzi's, BMW's even some Harleys
Too cool man, I love it.
Beautiful bike! I am so tempted to sell my RG for an old pan head. I know, rose tinted! Just love the look of the old Harleys and that you need to work for forward motion rather than push a button and go!
the best part was when he said "Heck with it, I am going for a ride" ... hahaha exactly what I would do.
Nice Harley Ferguson !
I injoy watching ur videos very informational and always cool stuff.
