What an amazing old Bike running so well......Thanks Matt and your friend..... Old Navy F-4 Phantom 2 Flying Shoe🇺🇸
Once again, bringing memories to us old timers and not so old Harley riders; this is the channel that takes me back to the 1960’s when I was a punk teenaged kid riding these old bikes like they were “used cars”!
I was born in 71. Still have memories and pics of riding on Triumph and Harleys with my dad. His friends always willing to take punk kid like me for ride also. Good times. They all gone now but think of them everytime I ride. The simplest things made kids like u and I happy. Not good where country headed. Thx for comment. 😎👍
A buddy of mine was leaving Minnesota the next day from the Family farm he hadn't been to in 12 years. His cousin asked him to come out to the barn and there were 6 Harleys and was given a choice of which ever one he wanted. Rick chose the 46 knucklehead and it was in pristine condition. All it took was a battery and gas to get it going so he brought it back out to Oregon and Rick along with a group of riders were up the North Umpqua river at the float races that were held every year. Every year it seemed that someone got killed in an accident or drowned. It was Ricks turn that year as he was heading home opened it up and a drunk motorist pulled out in front of him and hit the car and Rick flew a little over 70 feet and landed in a wire fence. Killed on contact. That was a big deal to us all here. Carol, Ricks wife stripped the bike down and bought a frame and all the parts and rebuilt it in Ricks honor. Rick was a hell of a good man!
That would have to be one of my dream bikes, it is in great order, very envious of the guys who owns it, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
.I reckon enough of us want one Harley shld knock a few hundred thousand together.. imagine a nostalgic 1200 knuckle with EFI...n brakes 😏
Absolutely amazing machine!!!!. Wow Matt you are one lucky dude...if I do one thing before I die, I wanna come and see your Museum.
Like the old tractors. I love working on them . They can sit forever and fire right up . As long as they were stored properly. Newer stuff it doesn’t go that easily
Man !!! What a beauty, love that paint job. You guys are so lucky to be able to wrench on so many of those bikes.
Just love watching you . Your the Best Harley mechanic that I have seen. If I was having a Custom Harley built, I would want you in charge ! Way to go !
That’s a stunning black and ivory bike on the stand
These are my favorite videos! Beautiful bike!
Dale the kid on christmas day, oh what joy.
Oh man, that brought back some really fond memories!!! I let my '45 FL get away from me back in '89. Mine was originally a police special but all the police stuff had been removed before I got it. I restored it as a civilian model. I sure do miss that ride.
God bless you! I need people like u in stressfully times! Your papa is loving this!
Great content. Love the bike. Gave good memories to owner. That was great time in America. Shop is awesome.
Matt was SUPER stoked to work this one over!! 😂😂
Matt's definitely his father's son just a younger version, I love these videos and I highly recommend a trip to the Maggie Valley NC. To see this magnificent dream that became reality 💓

I'm guessing 4 kicks, but we'll see. Well I was wrong, but it wasn't the first time. Pretty bike. Keep the good stuff coming guys. Yes, it is ready for a ride.
Been loving you guys for years. Dale's smilin' about this beauty running again. Keep up the great work. I'm heading to the web site to own that '37. 😉
Thanks for the reminder... I should ride my bikes instead of keeping them in the shop
Awesome bike !!!
Funny how a sweet old knucklehead like this can still make my 76 year ass drool like I did when I was 7 days old .
Soooooo jealous! Luv from Australia

To have a Time Machine! In the 1950’s they were practically giving these bikes away.
Harley Davidson Sales & Service was located at 530 7th Street in Parkersburg.
As always “amazing "
❤ sweet job bud got himself a beautiful bike
Very nice, it would go well with my 46 EL. 👍
My best friend grew up around the corner from me. All through the 80's and 90's his dad had a 1945 knuckle. I always thought it was chopped. Couple years ago i was talking with him. And he said no the from was never cut. It was just done up to look cool, ape hangers , seat on frame, different fenders, etc etc. He had sold that bike after trying to ride to a ralley 200 miles away. The charging system failed amf he had to call for a trailer to get him home. He sold it for $12,000 and put the money into racing go karts for my best friend. The story is, when he sold it, he lined the guy up with the person he bought the bike from 2p years earlier. That guy still jad the original parts in boxes, sitting in his garage attic. When tellinge this he pulled out some pictures. When he bought it in 80-81 it had a coffin tank on it. And before that it was all done up with a beautiful paint job, leather, and gems. According to him it was a civilian model. $12,000 he sold that bike for in 99'. Crazy
Magnifique Harley Davidson 1945 super job 👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇲🇫🇲🇫
Looks allot like the 42 "45" I had back in 1955. I was 14, and that was my first Harley. Mine had the big buddy seat. Not very fast by todays standards, but a hoot to ride. Wish I still had it. I am 82 now and still ride a 99 Softail Custom. It is allot like the 42 in a lot of ways. Classic Harleys have a character all their own. Modern bikes are to sophisticated. It is like old radial engine airplanes compared to jets. Steam engines compared to diesels. I learned to ride on a Whizzer motor bike when I was 8. I am old school by default.
Super awesome Matt.
Great content as always from 🇦🇺
❤ great bike ,looks and sounds so good classic harley ,cant beat that ,mick uk

Wow... the Blue and creme bike in the background deserves a video... I think its the most beautiful one I have ever seen... who owns it?!?!?! I need it!! hahahaha!!! GORGEOUS.... 36 KNUCKLEHEAD?
amazing bike
Sweet ride 👍
Beautiful
Great video. Lovely bike.
Would love to bring my 2004 Sportster over the pond and visit your museum….
Great bike!!👍❤️🇺🇸
0:36 It'd be really cool to see you guys working on a military issue '45 knucklehead
The best looking of all Harley engines! In the 60's my [modified] 37 Knuckle head would turn in the high 12's @ 112 MHP! I wish I had it now! (It sat in the front window of Harley shop all summer for $900 in 1964, no one bought it) I traded the owner a cool 58 cheve. impala & $400, no-one on the street could out run me, I'd start in second gear burning rubber & smoke past other Harleys shifting to second gear
Great Job Matt .
1936-1947: Harley-Davidson's greatest moment.
It's on my bucket list to come visit you guys

I have been to Lansdale bike night lots of times great event
I had to modify a 17mm end wrench to turn my ‘99 Yamaha Roadstar 1600 drain plug , maybe the 2nd hardest!!🤣😂

I’ll never own an old simple motorcycle like this. Like Matt says They are unobtainium for me.

Nice video!! Does anyone know what grade of oil was used in the gearbox and engine? thanks
Pls make video on sunbeam love from india
❤ " She's a Beauty, she's one in a million girls..."
Hi, how do these old bikes ride with no rear suspension, especially back in the day roads were pretty average ,love your videos though. Cheers
what is the bike with the off center wheels in the back-ground?
I think it’s named leaping Lena. Was basically a challenge bike someone built for fun.
I would have pulled the spark plugs and checked a quick compression check.
Shits I had the combo - sidecar and 3 forward , 1reverse gear - and the experienced mechanic having died & no spare available, had to practically sell it cheap ( $ 300/- in 1990). How I regret it
Anyone else notice oil spewing out of the cover @12:26 ??
Might be overflow from the oil tank. When it pumped the oil from the engine back to the tank may have overfilled it and pushed some out.
So what was the deal with the oil light staying on? They said the pump was pumping. But the light was still on. Bad sending unit? It would be interesting to know how strong the oil pressure is coming out of that pump. It could be still working . But with low pressure. That wouldn't be an ideal situation. And could cause a major failure...
That’s what he was doing when he stuck he finger in the oil tank
@@trevorgraham9098 yeah, I saw he checked to see if it was pumping. Which is what I would have done too. I was just curious as to , if it was bringing the psi @ mfg. specification or not...
👍🏼
😮
For the algorithm 🇺🇲🦅
New subscriber my uncle jimmys first motorcycle was a 47 Harley Davidson knucklehead he sold it to my Uncle Sam and then my Uncle Sam sold it to someone in benson nc sadly my Uncle Sam passed away in 2008 and my uncle Jimmy he passed away from dementia in 2023 I love old school Harley’s I love the knuckleheads the panhead and the shovelheads
