TF2: 100 Days of Spy

Severely mentally ill content creator loses his mind playing the weakest class in TF2 for 100 days straight and documents the process for your viewing entertainment.
It would be criminal not to acknowledge the influence of @LukeTheNotable for popularising the 100 day format, and of course my good friend @zenithzv and his 30 days series with classes in TF2.
A big thanks for @monki_lol for his fantastic animations, to @Fitz and @Octoooo for their beautiful voice over work and to @Jauntyweb for a great thumbnail as always.

Unfortunately the Sniper video is quite a ways off, but I’m shooting to have it out before July. A lot more animation, better written, better edited…basically just a big leap in quality. Licensing copyrighted music for it too! Anyway, you are the only person who gets to know how far off the Sniper vid is because you wrote such a nice comment.

This video is getting me excited to play the game again, so cheers mate. EDIT: RIP to your fan, mate.

    • TF2's lost much of its quality over the past few years. The community is extremely obnoxious and with a superiority complex and elitist caste system based on who is the biggest loser with the most money spent on hats and time wasted in front of their PCs, most weapons are but shadows of their former selves due to insanely bad and stupid rebalances and nerfs, Meet Your Match killed the game, every update breaks something in the game, the only meaningful attention it gets from devs is to flood the shitty overrated overpriced cosmetics lootbox casino with more hats for the insecure small dick playerbase, there's a tendency to gatekeep new players solely because they don't own cosmetics (lmao), the anti-cheat (VAC) literally does not work, bots are a real problem that they refuse to fix, and the entire game's code is expired spaghetti held together by duct tape. But it still has a lot of personality and synergy between its classes, the community-made content in the server browser is amazing and you have some of the most variety in playing the same game over and over and over again with stuff like Class Wars, 100% Crits, VSH, Deathrun, Dodgeball, Randomizer, x10, Balloon Race and many others. It is an experience unlike any other when you get it right. It's worth a try at least once!

  • 40:00 one thing i wanna note about this entire segment: there is a spy playstyle that has been ignored by all spy players for the past decade... and it's called actually playing out your disguises. It's crazy how effective acting can be even against pro players, even moreso with what i think is the most underrated spy weapon: Your Eternal Reward. There was this one time on goldrush 2nd half, enemy team captures first point, and they advance, i use my invis to go into one of the corners in the tight corridors right after the first point, i see an enemy pyro & medic combo walk infront of me, spamming down the exit out of that area with flares, then the medic takes a hit from a rocket (which tbh he overextended so makes sense) and so he retreats to heal. In the meantime, i decloak, stab the pyro and get auto-disguised because of the YER, the medic comes back and starts healing me. then i back up and stab the medic and retreat afterwards because there was a heavy and a soldier on the cart and i think they noticed me but didn't chase OKAY SO APPARENTLY HE ACTUALLY TRIES PAIRING YER WITH C&D AND HE LIKES IT AT A LATER POINT IN THE VIDEO I AM ACTUALLY SO HAPPY THIS IS MY FAVOURITE WAY TO PLAY SPY AND IM HAPPY SOMEONE FINALLY RECOGNIZES IT it has been my "guilty pleasure" in TF2 for a long time 1:16:10 i also wanna say that the "loop playstyle" is also very effective as trolldier (like, crazily so, especially on payload maps with high skyboxes) R.I.P. • About the Red Tape Recorder. I found the best use is against multiple engi nests where you know that you can't kill and sap them all. Especially in a hot zone, where your team and the nest are clashing constantly. In those situations, a normal sapper would only deal some health damage, but the red-tape delevels the buildings, makes them weaker, and takes more resources to build up again, especially when they are simultaneously under constant attack and in need of repair. The tactic is to go in, sap as much as you can, and ringer out, rinse, and repeat in coordination with your team's pressure. In those scenarios does the Red Tape Recorder shine. Thank you for that amazing in-depth video and all the joy and content you create!

  • 2:21:54 The reason for this was because the Enforcer used to be broken. It had a 20% damage bonus whenever (and later while undisguised) and the main downside was that you would enter cloak slower, taking .2 extra seconds. However, the dead ringer negated that completely. The 20% damage bonus all the time with the random crits meant that you had a random chance to one-shot light classes from any range. Kind of like the Sydney Sleeper on release because it also had random crits (because it couldn’t get critical headshots, it had random crits) and both of them had to have them removed later.
