83% Off! WOW must be really over-priced? Mark it up to mark it down pricing looks sketchy. Just offering a fair price looks more legit. Love the new project. You are a true mechanical genius!
I love you all and the channel BUT..... SurfShark is a horrible company. Surfshark pulls sponsorship of news outlet over tweet Virtual private network (VPN) provider Surfshark announced that it has pulled its sponsorship of independent media outlet The Post Millennial after its editor-at-large Andy Ngo was targeted with what he describes as a “hoax orchestrated by a white man to silence a gay journalist of color who dared to report on the man’s restraining order.”
Just a FYI to people who do not know Using a VPN will lower your speeds down so make sure you have some pretty good highspeeds if you are looking to game, stream, download and unload.
@@davidmorgan745 Nah they screwed over Andy Ngo and lost half the people shilling for them. Luckily Fabrats isn't political or they'd be next to get the white nationalist smear treatment from antifa.
@@Laugh1ngboy what?
Randall, the OG!! Props for driving with NO BRAKES, ONE HANDED, and still OPPING THE CAMERA!!!!!
right? I am sweating bullets watching this LOL
Paul just passed the best dad test. Supportive but brutally honest. "It'll be a good truck but it's a turd now"
Kind of like the Coronet.
@@woodrowwilliams1812 oh, i'm sorry, i didn't realize they needed to give away a show car to their fans. Oh wait.....they don't. Just like they don't need to give anything back to those of us watching. I'd luv to be able to have the chance to win the Coronet.
From the smellyest turd comes the best crops
The cab and front of the yellow tow just may work for Matt's heavy wrecker idea 💡
That was my thought also.
Nah, won't work with how Matt has described his vision. I mean, yeah, it could work, but the hood on that C70 would need to be extended to probably double it's current length. With Matt's wrecker being so tall, and the cab being set back as far as it looks like it will, it also needs a butterfly style hood design for easier access.
@@1oldskoolluvr And now we know he plans on using an old IH cab from the late 50's or early 60's
@@tyendor503 isn't that one of the first things we learned about it?
Aaa Nor Cal we're yellow with blue
This show is much more than just building trucks. you got something special
Nothing better than a couple of buddies bump drafting down the highway
Randel handled that like a pro. Looking forward to this project.
Randall is a beast when it comes to driving with no brakes...!!!!
It’s really cool to see you continue your dads dreams on his tow truck. I look forward to all your videos but really love the ones involving family ties as well as videos where you selflessly help others in need. Keep up the great work Paul and crew!
I grew up hanging out with my dad in his buddy’s tow shop and Standard station-if anyone remembers what those were… Anyway, this ‘vintage’ paraphernalia brings a lot of nostalgia to this guy’s heart!
…And the “Brake Cushion”… Yeah, we did that a time or two (dozen)! More than I care to share or remember!!
Oh hell yeah, many of us are old enough to remember those days.
Believe it or not, we still have one of those. Same guy has owned it since the early 80's and he’s busy as all get out. I buy all my tires there.
@@gapster46 Nice!! I wish I’d been in a place to buy up our buddy’s…
@@gapster46 you can still see a few around every now & then. Mostly in small town America, where people aren't always rushing around. I know of one in the area i live in the Midwest.
The ole man’s looking down smiling my friend he loved that truck and I’m sure he loves seeing you expanding its horizons
Run the towchain through a large pipe chain up tight, the pipe keeps u separated and stops the dead car
Oh yeah I forgot about that old trick, but yeah that's a great way to do it!
Thank you for sharing another great video that reminded me of the time my 68 VW Baja Bug died along the road. My Dad came with his Square body C30 & we used some really big rope to tie the tube bumper on the Bug to his extended trailer hitch (it was perfect for the turns). It towed like a dream other than my Dad going 65mph & me having a death grip on the Bug steering wheel while helping turn in the corners. Nothing better than great memories with Dad!
Beautiful Grille Guard and Spotlights.
Awesome as usual. Randall you are doing a great job at everything you do. We love and appreciate you. Michelle, you are a beautiful lady and you and Paul are so good together. Your family is beautiful. We love you all and can’t wait for the next video. 👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was a damn good episode. This and Matt's are my top two every morning with my coffee. Thanks folks and God bless!
Oh My Gosh… we bought a building about seven years ago and in the trusses was a huge metal frame..heavy as all heck.. never knew what is was but Now I Know.. the chrome front bush guard on the yellow tow truck Paul just picked up is exactly what it is. Boy that think is heavy. Thank Fab Rats for edumacating me Again!
Randall has the calmest disposition, one handed, no brakes and still calm as a cucumber. What a rad build to follow along the Grandpa Sherman Ultimate tow truck transformation
I have been wondering about old Yeller. That chrome grill needs to live on the wall of the shop. Nice driving Randall being the guy with no brakes 2ft from the tow truck isn’t fun for long 👍
I guess I’m Vintage, because I remember when that Holmes bed came out, the first Holmes rig I drove was a 440 bed with a PTO drive, late ‘60’s early’70’s. I watch all your videos every week and most of the old ones plus the demo derby ones. Keep it up !!!
I hope u keep the amber light bar and use it on the new tow truck for off roading.
Reminds me of towing cars with my grandpa. Good times!
I think you need the lights off the top of the cab on the tow truck!
Love the tire for the tow truck brakes, funny stuff, it's going to be a great challenge making one tow truck from two. You can do it. We're sure it will be amazing. Your Dad would be so proud.
You know grandpa Sherman is looking down smiling knowing that his truck will be towing cars and making tons of smiles and memories for future generations! Might wanna pull the bed off that gmc and toss you a 3500 or a custom flatbed and have yourself a scrapping truck once wok pull the motor and make it happy again. Hope Michelle has recovered from the accident and is no longer sore!
Great job on the advertising, short and sweet. I'm really excited about this wrecker build.
I wonder if Ed thinks you’re still trying to get the nugget running lol
Awesome! Dads smiling down on you! Please be safe! And my God Bless You And Your Family! ❤🙏❤🙏
I think the light bar could find a new home on Sherm's reinvented ride.
if your not using the wheel lift I might suggest you add Hyd, spade's to the rear to support and help hold ya in place when winching.. after many years working in the towing industry I promise they help. make your feet dual purpose.. a flat shoe or flip up as a spade for soft surfaces..
That'll really shoot his weight savings idea. And the travel they would need to get high enough to get out of the way, AND extend far enough to anchor would be tough. A stiff leg is awesome!
He's not going to have much weight savings after he beefs up the frame to handle that boom.
@@carlholm2765 he's not going to be dropping ANY WEIGHT when he adds the hydraulic system, and that boom! He's going to be ADDING A LOT OF WEIGHT, he will be AT LEAST a thousand lbs. heavier by the time he switches to the hydraulic system, and that's BEFORE adding fluid!
Damn that grill guard on the yellow rig is sweet!
Paul, you are like a kid in a toy store! Love watching all that excitement as the gears in your mind start creating what will be. Great stuff.
Matt needs the cab off that old tow truck for his heavy wrecker build. It's even the correct color.
Nothin like a good tow with a bro! nice boom! I would love to get a fab rats burger a stop and say hi this fall when I finish hiking the Hayduke Route in Zion. This is an awesome build Paul, bless all the generations of your family!
That will be a awesome wrecker when Paul works his magic.
8:21 the smoke effect thing had me lol
great project Paul....gonna be a outstanding tribute wrecker when dun !!..... hats off !!.... good job swingin Randal !... editing orgasmic !😅
Need to use that Holmes lightbar on grandpa sherm's t-truck too. Light it up!
The World needs more people like paul and his family
You need to harness the tow cradles might come in handy for those broken axle tow jobs.
That's going to be nice when you get it done I like that old body style my Dads milk truck had that body on it I would love to have an old truck like that with that body on it Thanks for sharing Paul
All can say is today is a great day! Get off work, look on KZhead, and a new video, sweet.....get home, and check the mail, and BAM! a brand new fab rats t-shirt, super score!!!! My wife heard me saying I wanted one, and she got me one!!!!!! She's a keeper!!!!!!!
Grandpa Sherm's tow truck is a beast...pull that other tow truck like nothing...👍🏾👍🏾 two thumbs up for that
That new boom and winching system is going to be awesome for Papa Sherm's dream of having an awesome tow truck. We love that you are continuing with his dreams. Get er done!
Yahoo SHES comin together Fab Rats , thank you for sharing Paul & FB Team 💛🇺🇸
5:33 You know that it's a vehicle that's been sitting a while since he's doing the classic bouncy, "Oyuh-oyuh-oyuh-oyuh-oyuh-oyuh-oyuh" of the flat-spot tires jarringly thumping along over the pavement. :P :D
Oooooohh... Yall gonna make Rory jealous! Yall better stop that🤣 The Mater influence is real yall😎
Grampa Sherm's (aka: Old Rat Road Tow Truck) truck is gunna be so awesome when you're done! Can't wait to watch your magic ✨️.
Fabrats to 1,000,000. Papa Sherms towtruck is gonna be really cool
Paul is like a little kid working that tow truck boom.
Love the channel. The connection to your dad is awesome and you continue on with your own boys. Glad to have Randall along on the show too. Keep ‘em coming
I’m just gonna go ahead and say it.. Well, This is the best KZhead channel there is. Plain and simple, when Y’all wake up in the morning You just build excellence! 😂🇺🇸🤙🏽
If only I could be there I would enjoy helping Papa door out in his Scrabble pit I've been doing that kind of stuff since I was 13 I know all about rock plants and everything and I'll tell you what it would be fun.
Wish I wasn’t old, my memory has faded a little. That’s a Holmes, 480 Hydraulic, or a 600 Hydraulic, I think. Body and twin winch built in Newbern, TN, or built in Ooltewah, TN. I left Dover Corporation in 1978, Dover owned the Ernest-Holmes name until mid 80’s. After Dover sold to Challenger, manufacturing was moved to Ooltewah. Miller Industries in Ooltewah probably still has parts available.
that tow truck is perfect .. it's got everything you need , even a pair of dollies
Great harvest truck. Keep putting out the videos. We love them all.
Awesome project. I am excited. I can see as much repurposed materials as possible going on this build, just to keep in the spirit of it.
If he was scrapping that old 60s truck, I'm surprised it didn't follow you home. :D Hope Michelle is feeling better. When I first saw that Bright yellow wrecker I thought it was Matt's. You all be careful and God Bless.
30k views and only 5k likes! come on guys hit the thumbs up! These guys are great!! keep up the awesome work Fab Family!
Great job flat towing that beast! Just like Paul said "gotter handled" or as it should be now "gotter Randalled"
Should be a tshirt
There was a video where a you guys were getting ready for a trip or a job, a guy walked up and said he started binge watching your channel and Matt's channel... I could understand why he started binge watching you all's channels, they are interesting to watch, to see how you guys have evolved into a couple of the most recommended tow companies in the area! Keep up the awesome videos, after watching a few of the newer videos from Facebook I had to get on KZhead and watch from the beginning. Definitely binge worthy channels between #fabrats and #mattsoffroadrecovery.
Love the interactions all of you have. Reminds me of when I used to help my dad and when I finally had my own turd to work on. Keep on keepin on
Woohooo , finally we get to see the oldmans tow truck being built, im sure ur dad is proud in heaven that ur going to be fixing his tow truck n and by the looks of it , its goin to be a awesume tow truck 🥇👍🙏❤️
Note: Randall, safety glasses will keep the rust out of your eyes. good project, good video. Play through
Wow this show just keeps getting better me and my buddy who I just lost in Dec used to do this kind of crazy stuff all the time. Thank you for the memories
You don't have to see over the hood, the trail is still here, it didn't go anywhere ;-) I love how every wrecker, between Fab Rats, Towmader, and BSF Recovery, are always old square bodies. Even Paul's newest wrecker is a square body. Best trucks ever built in my opinion.
Cannot wait to see your dad's truck finished. He is proud of you can guarantee. Love how Randall did without brakes that can be scary done it a few times myself. Love how close the family is. Keep up the great work cannot wait for the next video.
Those winches move slower than molasses but I bet there’s nothing that can stop them.
I love it when you guys do sketchy stuff 😂
Nice looking weather to work outside...nice change of pace ! Timbo !
Can’t wait for this build.
Put Comet on a Green Scrub Pad & use Soapy Dawn Dish Water to get surface rust off and then wash again to clean all the Comet & stuff off. Tip from 406 Garage (KZhead). I am a old man with a old plan.
I hope you transplant the roof basket onto the new bed. I think it's the most defining feature of the truck and it looks so good.
Like the new tow truck parts... Should be perfect for your needs.
That towing job reminded me of a trip a buddy of mine and I did back in the early 80's. He had a Mercury Comet sitting in Bountiful Utah at his mother's place. We towed it with a chain behind a hopped up 56 Chevy stepside pickup to Sheridan Montana. The Comet had no engine, but still overwhelmed the brakes going down Malad Hill. He did not see me waving to go faster, until I pulled along side. LOL We had a wheel bearing go out near Blackfoot Idaho, and a guy let us use one of his bays to work on it. We could not get the race off, so I smoothed it out with emery cloth, and finished our trip. That sanding job must have worked, as it held as long as he still had it.
"I don't see what could go wrong!" I think I've heard that before on this channel. That boom will be a beast on the tow truck
It's fun hanging out with you guys.
3:15 I had a '66 Chevy Van (the flat faced ones) for my work truck, and it weighed a full 3 tons with just my tools in it. Straight front Axel made it easy to add leaf prigs, and I swapped in a 14 bolt rear end (it was 2" wider than the front wheels :)
That’s going to be a good part of the project
Awsome project y'all have!! Can't wait to see it when it gets done! Keep up the amazing work! Godbless
Great wrecker body. That Holmes 1100 will do anything. Just an amazing unit.
randall needs props! solid dude
Im excited to see what you do with the rollback
The new tow truck works. That was the biggest love 😍 smile I ever saw 😂 on Paul
Paul love being a mechanic, I was big truck mechanic for 35 years been retired 12 years don,t miss it all have a good life to your family.
Can here the love for his dad when talks about the stuff they done together!
Take the flasher bar off the top! What a neat parts donor!
Hey Paul, you should call the truck the Sherminator when it's all done and ready to go to work 👍👍
That would be a beautiful cab for Matt's offload wrecker.
I’m gonna be honest, I think that truck being 5500 is going to be a super tall order. I’m stinking it’s going to be heavy no matter how you cut the cake but if you can manage that it will be impressive. Good luck to ya sir! Looking forward to more rat videos!
Good to see someone else doing sketchy shit to tow something home. In this world there is a few fellas that "can do" whatever it takes to get the job done. Bravo!
The rest of that wrecker deck would make an awesome 5th wheel gooseneck deck.
Thanks for producing quality family-oriented vids. “Like the good ol days.”
That's gonna be an awesome offroad tow truck! That boom is gonna grab nothing and everything! Looking foward to seeing this project continue!
Great Project...Good Luck
Just something about the sound and look of that ol tow truck. Being from Michigan and living in grand junction for a spell my favorite rigs out that way were the good ol cowboy classic. The sounds the looks. Love it the way it is but totally understand the updates it needs.
Grandpa Sherm will be styling with his new toys. And you will be in the tow business. Enjoy that fun.
So now Paul is collecting broken tow trucks. Lol God bless
Good times! Brings back memories. My stepfather once towed me home in a 76 VW Bug that only had the e-brake to control us both on hills...I was 14 and in the Bug. Could've forged a diamond that day if I had some coal...
That’s an awesome boom on that truck can’t wait to see it on grandpa’s truck!!!!
